    hardest part for me is sculpting on a low res model. I tend to increase the resolution way too early and every line has to be perfect. I'm struggling a lot with this and just cant get rid of it. Awesome video.

      Thank you! Some artists prefer to sculpt on higher res mesh, it's not wrong as long as you know what you are doing. But it's generally much easier to control a low res mesh, when you want to get the general shape and gesture of the forms. Keep practicing and eventually it will click with you🙂

      Late reply. but i had the same problem but i had found a good way to solve it, i just bump up the res but keep it low enough so i can smooth easily and sculpt like its a clay. i try to only use clay buildup and move brush for most of my sculpt and most importantly watch some clay sculpting videos it will be really helpful.

    Thank you for the quality of your videos! Is it the same process for a realistic character? I'd really like to learn about realistic anatomy

    • @Merce881
      @Merce881  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure the process is the same and the only thing you need to do is adjust the proportions of your figure to 7 and a half heads tall. Google realistic proportion templates and adjust your figure accordingly.

    Hi, a very cool video, it goes for 40 minutes, but accelerated by 2 times, the conclusion is that you made the model in two hours, I'm amazed). I myself am just starting to learn how to sculpt, I want to learn a few more besides the Maya program, can you give some tips for a beginner)?

    • @Merce881

      If you are just beginning then I would highly recommend you to check out Blender. It's an amazingly versatile program, it also has awesome sculpting capability. Zbrush on the other hand is fully dedicated to sculpting but is not free like Blender, but then again if you don't have access to Zbrush you can sculpt in Blender easily. Just keep practicing consistently and always use reference and you will achieve good results quickly. Hope this helps!✌️

    This was absolutley incredible! How you effortlessly create a highly detailed face is amazing. I have to ask, did you have a reference for the face or was it just from memory. Also do you kep the hands low poly all the way through or do you tidy up at the end? But yeah, incredible!

    • @Merce881
      @Merce881  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! Yes I always have my reference images on a second monitor. For the hands I had them only as a gesture to save on the lenght of the video.✌️

      @@Merce881 Amazing! Thank you so much for replying! But seriously I tried out your way of creating a head and I can’t believe the difference. I’ve bought courses on this stuff and they complex it so much where you find yourself forgetting form. But this really worked for me. So thank you.

    Hi just found your channel when browsing my feed for sculpting related content and man this is some of the best work I have seen from a channel with a number of under 500 subs. Just a question when blocking out the nose, is it better to use inflate or grab brush? keep the good work by the way and from now on you got one more loyal sub. Here to support and maybe someday I may do some projects with once I get good in blender. Have a good one!

    • @Merce881
      @Merce881  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the comment! For me personally the grab brush is the best option for what you are describing, I usually block in the nose with a clay brush and then shape it with the grab/move brush. Hope this helps, keep practicing is the key.🙂

      I'm using images from Anatomy for Sculptors book. Another book I can recommend is Human Anatomy for Artists by Eliot Goldfinger if you want to learn the origin and insertion of every muscle🙂

    how did u merge all the subtools can u plz explain????

    • @Merce881
      @Merce881  ปีที่แล้ว

      I merged the separated parts of the body and dynameshed them together, the head I left as a separate subtool to not lose the details I already have sculpted.✌️

  • @wanzet11

    Beautiful. No DynaMesh when using blockout?

    • @Merce881
      @Merce881  ปีที่แล้ว

      Once I make sure the separate parts interlock properly then I dynamesh everything together, except the head.

    • @Merce881
      @Merce881  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@wanzet11 You can dynamesh the head to the body, but you will have to crank up the dynamesh resolution so you don't lose details in the face.
