Isn't Portland too crowded for cars? I'm surprised they haven't moved an automotive swap meet out of Portland by now because they don't even have enough room to house everyone, much less haul antique cars around on trailers, also there is less rust East of the Cascades. That classic junkyard seems too close to the big University for comfort too unless they have parts for RV dwellers. Lot's of room for both in Oregon, but maybe not in the Willimette Valley part, which also has rain and rust.
I hear Antelope dislikes hippies and hippies dislike cars, so does Antelope like cars? and have lots of space for cars? at least more space than Portland?

I dont know, cars seem to survive in the willamette valley just fine. Im happiest staying iut if portland and eugene as much as possible though

@@tradrodsandcustoms Eugene is far less crowded than Portland.

@@tradrodsandcustoms Both cities have urban political and cultural values, which can be hostile to classic cars, but Portland is truly urban, where Eugene is not. True cities like Portland cannot provide enough parking, or enough air to dilute the exhaust, but can efficiently fill buses and trolleys, but college towns like Eugene do have the parking space and air, but can't fill buses or trolleys efficiently and so do need old cars whether they know it or not. I am therefore considering moving to Eugene, from North Carolina, in an old truck, bus or RV, trailing my old car; but I have no such thoughts about Portland. I like cars but am secular, like Eugene and not like North Carolina.
So classic car swap meets have a future in, or at least near, Eugene, but no such future near Portland, even if 1 Portland suburb retains a majority of car lovers, old cars remain un-viable in major metros regardless of political support.
Portland also lacks space for workplaces in general, including both auto repair shops and the shipping port, which may have to move down river, something LA can't do because the LA river is too small.

@@tradrodsandcustoms Perhaps the future of classic cars is in Antelope, beleaguered and spacious victor in the culture wars, with plenty of parking and air and a drier climate with less rust. and perhaps a leftover Rolls Royce or two?
