Dude Caleb hammer deserves more subs and revenue. This guy just delivers value and is a breath of fresh air because he doesn’t become an negative extremist. He delivers pure value and is insanely underrated
Movies are bombing because COVID showed everyone that watching movies at home is much more convenient. Many people have very large TVs or projectors, so they basically have a mini theater in their house, they can pause to use the bathroom and they spend way less on snacks.
I’ve never used buy now pay later and don’t plan to. I’m working on paying off some existing debt and don’t want more. If I can’t pay in cash (debit card and in budget) I can’t afford it. I’ve paid off my car and a lot of debt in the last two years with this method.
@@doublet_inthemorning Of course, but my savings account is paying 5% and I get a loan for zero how does that not make sense. I could pay immediately, but why?
The movies out now are "something to do on friday night" movies. They aren't must see, event movies. No one has money to go see movies just for something to do. You're gonna see Deadpool crush the box office.
Im a blu-ray/backup enjoyer. When ren and stimpy was on netflix back in the day, i saw a few episodes and skipped a month. When i resubbed, that series was gone. Never again.
I watch my movies at home with a $10 Costco pizza. If I'm gonna blow that kinda money on entertainment, I'd rather see theater, a band, or any other live performance that I cant get at home.
I did not even know there was a Garfield movie. And theaters have become way too expensive overall compared to waiting maybe a month to watch comfortably at home.
I’m in Texas. I go to this movie restaurant place. It’s amazing! $12 for a movie and then order dinner at your seat:) huge game changer and I hope this becomes a trend every where else
I am not so sure if the issues are the movies that are bad or if people are just not going to the movies anymore. I stopped going because makes no sense to drive, buy a ticket, buy expensive concessions only to have to deal with people talking, on their phones or freaking vaping in the theaters. I prefer to wait and watch the movies at the comfort of my own home. Saves me money and stress.
I buy-now-pay-later'd an education for my wife. Its an online class that leads to getting certification. They offered affirm @ 0% for a year. I'm not a fan of affirm, but I did take them up on it.
movies are bombing because of politcal garbage and just the fact that its too expensive to go to the movies. With on demand many people are just willing to wait and rent it or buy it at home for a fraction of what it would cost to go to a theater.
Going to the movies means travel expenses (and parking if you have to), movie tickets easily costing $15 a pop, snacks easily doubling that, stuck with whatever times the cinema runs the movie and loads of chances of getting annoying people during the movie.. movie night is a lot more fun just getting the group together, spending the night at one of us, with great food, snacks, drinks and whenever you need a break, getting one.
I still think a big problem with Fall Guy is that it's confusing with Free Guy. I keep forgetting it's two different movies. I use Adblock, so I don't see movie trailers. I'm kinda surprised movie studios aren't paying TH-camrs for those in-video ad placements. The ones my adblock can't skip >=(
for our family of three, going to a movie is almost $40 JUST for tickets. Add in bringing a friend for the kid, that's up to $50 already and we haven't even hit the dollar store for snacks... Financially I have to REALLY want to see a movie to spend that kind of money on it. They hit amazon/Netflix, etc fast enough that even buying the movie and seeing it at home one time is cheaper. There is also the weird problem that movies seem short with the ability to binge watch entire series in a short period of time. When I can spend a couple of days (or weeks) in the world of a series, a few hours watching a movie leaves me feeling like I'm missing something lol.
No one goes to the movies anymore. But also no one has cable, everyone pays for subscription services to prevent getting ads. So a lot of movies that come out people haven't even heard about
I think the lack of ticket sales is just from the cost of the tickets. I live up near Cleveland Ohio and ticket sup here are going close to $20 after tax unless you are going to an early showing or a weekday showing. I have the Cinemark membership so my wife and I go at least once a month together.
Theaters are expensive. I already got tickets for Inside Out 2 for the family and Deadpool and Wolverine for just me and my gf. Only reason i did was because i havent gone to the theaters since Super Mario came out and i have the Cinemark monthly thing so i can around 14 free tickets. Tickets are expensive and when i take the family its even more pricy even with the 20% off from concession, its crazy pricey. I normally would just wait for streaming or DVD but inside out 2 is for the kids and they need to experience theaters once in a while and of course Deadpool cuz its Deadpool.
Dude I love these! Something I’d love to see is any sort of stock buying activity you’re personally doing (or selling). Something that says if you’re funding your retirement accounts this is what I’d consider getting into at this moment or getting out of.
I might be wrong but I think there's some regulations regarding such advice. Caleb doesn't have the right background to do it. If I'm wrong please correct but I definitely don't want anyone getting into trouble. Honestly, I'd be interested in just having his team pick stocks and him tracking them for a year and comparing them to the safe choice of snp500. Wouldn't be advice but long term education in how it's not just buying 1 stock that is going to secure your future.
I think its due to prices today, If you buy 2 tickets average $12 a ticket, then a maybe 2 drinks and a popcorn to split for another $25-$30 bringing a movie trip up to $50 or more and that's not even including travel cost (gas etc...) to get there.
We have nice TVs with comfy seats at home. We can pause and go to bathroom. We don't have to deal with entitled people who ruin the whole experience because they didn't get enough popcorn or a stranger looked at them weird. Also, we can wait 2 months and watch it at home on a streaming service and save the $50+ bucks. We only go to the movies for ones we want as an experience. IE a favorite fandom. Lastly, honestly, most of the content coming out now really are straight to DVD movies. TV isn't much better. I don't miss the toxic 90s-00s but damn, the movie/tv content was so much better.
Love this show. Also me and my lady love the movie but honestly haven’t wanted to see anything except in March. But I got the tickets for free since I’m a subbed to cinemark. Also only spend 20-30 on snacks and drinks
I fell victim of buy now pay later, I say victim but it was my own fault. They started rising in popularity just as I left highschool and I've carried around $5k worth of debt for the last 4 years. I don't even want to calculate the account fees. Started watching Financial Audit and started sorting my shit out so next pay I'll be able to nuke at least half of it out of my life and I'm a few more 60 hour weeks away from being rid of it all together.
Hey guys, I don’t know what the fix is but I wanted to provide some feedback on the channel. The scripted nature, while required in this format, makes me feel like the entire video is an AD from a main channel video. I can’t specifically describe it, but it’s a feeling inside. It must just be my training from the main channel to hear and perceive the change in tone to know to skip the section. Caleb, it might just be getting used to reading lines, becoming more comfortable, etc. but if you add some more unscripted content at the beginning of the video it might help. Or tell the facts, then maybe do an unscripted (though not a ‘blind’) reaction to them for each topic throughout the video.
I admit I have used the three month 0% interest payment plan on car repairs. It’s true. I could use my emergency fund, but I like to see if I can cash flow it first because building the emergency fund. Back up is annoying.
Deadpool let's gooooooo!!! I think the cost of going to the movies is really what kills me. It's gotta be a super hype movie for me to justify the cost. Used to be that the movie was cheap and the popcorn was insane. Studios trying to drown with licensing costs? who knows.
Buy now pay later? Absolutely the f*ck not lol guaranteed there’s some predatory catch that’s crushing people who use it and don’t pay it back immediately
For responsible consumers, I think buy now pay later is fine if it's zero interest & zero fee options. However, I worry that this may allow retailers to increase prices for no reason other than "because we can"
I think movies release so quickly now and we all pay so much for streaming services also the work life balance is more work then life lately so just the time to go when we could just wait a few months and stream
I bought $500 of VOO and $500 of FXAIX a couple of days ago for the first time and now it's down, but I don't really care for now since I'm not planning on putting out in the next few years
I know US Cellular isn't among the major 3 cell companies but given part of US Cellular + mint mobile have been acquired by T-Mobile, we probably will see higher monthly cell phone costs due to slightly less competition
The last time I went to the movies it was over $100 for five people, and that same movie ended up on Peacock three months later. If I didn't smuggle in my own snacks, it would've been another $30+ on popcorn and a drink for just me. It's really not worth it to go anymore. I want to watch Furiosa too, but I'll wait a few months and catch it at home with my cheap ass taquitos from the grocery store lololol
Why go to the movies and spend 20+ a ticket + food+ TIP now, easily equaling 60+ dollars when you can just wait a month or two and it will be released on a streaming platform? Movies are a luxury when all of the other savings and other goals are needed to be met first.
My local movie theater does 5 dollar tuesdays. But they raised the price up to 6 dollars, so I stopped going, lol. I don't get how anyone can justify 10 dollars+ for a movie. And now that TV panels are cheaper than sidewalk panels, it's not hard to just watch movies at home cheaply. Replacing sidewalk panels is just another hidden cost of home ownership. >.>
I haven't heard of any of the movies mentioned for this year. I would think the poor performance is therefore due to poor marketing. Everyone knew about Barbenheimer regardless if you like nukes or barbies. Going to the movies has occurred to me, but upon reflection I couldn't think of a single movie I heard about. I am excited for the new Deadpool, but that was supposed to come out awhile ago so it fell off my radar when it got delayed.
I find “buy now pay later with 0% interest” plans to be beneficial for those who can plan properly. It takes the hassle out of large purchases and allows you to invest the amount you don’t pay up front, if you keep everything in check. Caleb has mentioned a few times that you should only take these on if you are investing the rest of the money.
I just dont see movie theaters lasting much longer. I haven't bothered with them since batman begins, and now I've got to find one decent movie to take all the kids to for a one shot experience that will cost almost two hundred dollars. Maybe if they make a bluey movie but even then I'd just stream it.
There's no way in hell I'm paying $20 for a ticket and having to sit there with a bunch of obnoxious people unless it's an actual good film, classics, arthouse, etc.
I like this series but could really do without the weekly market updates. That info is available everywhere and doesn’t have much room for the value add of your perspective. Taking more time to discuss Klarna and how you’ve seen it affect your guests would have been a much better use of the time!
Dude Caleb hammer deserves more subs and revenue. This guy just delivers value and is a breath of fresh air because he doesn’t become an negative extremist. He delivers pure value and is insanely underrated
Movie fatigue… so much content to keep up with already. If a movie looks “meh” I won’t think twice about skipping seeing it in theaters.
That’s fair

Right? Seems harder to keep track of than a credit card imo
@@allye9865 yeah. 100% agree

Nobody goes to the movies anymore. It's overpriced and streaming is much more convenient. Personally, I am willing to wait for the streaming releases.
Yeah lol they come out on streaming after like 2 weeks. Why not just wait at this point for most people? The industry did this to themselves.
The movies out now are "something to do on friday night" movies. They aren't must see, event movies. No one has money to go see movies just for something to do. You're gonna see Deadpool crush the box office.

Cause that's my jam for keeping my HYSA fat while i remodel my house
I am breaking my no paid fun to see Deadpool haha
Movies are bombing left and right because it costs $80 for a movie, popcorn and a drink for 2 people.
Dollar Tree snacks and Cinemark discount Tuesdays 1-3 times a year sounds like a good budget combo at this pont.
movies are bombing because of politcal garbage and just the fact that its too expensive to go to the movies. With on demand many people are just willing to wait and rent it or buy it at home for a fraction of what it would cost to go to a theater.
A Quiet Place: Day One comes out in June, too! (It’s the third one in the series so far.)
I only go to the movies during the week when they open so few people and cost less. Also, really, no movies seem worth the trouble excepy deadpool
Shame since Furiosa was amazing. Cautiously optimistic for deadpool as well.

Movies suck because it is all remakes or the same tired superhero stories. We have seen it all before!
Yep Hollywood isn't willing to try new things they just over spend remaking the same crap.
