Bought me a 2000 Spartan 100ft SkyArm with 22k miles on GovDeals for $9k! Sucker is nearly 50ft long and weighs 77,900lbs. I drove it from New Jersey to Pennsylvania. What a slow and painful ride that was.
I'm glad you were able to get the ladder unstuck, I hate when that happens. I've never known someone who owned a fire truck, you guys are awesome! Thanks for sharing Ken.
Have an old April 90 Mitsubishi Canter Pantek , lived in it for seven years. 6 Ton. Have had it now for more than 15 years , can't part with it. Most reliable vehicle i've ever owned and very comfortable to drive. Trucks are good Ken , even better when they are fire engines.
Hey Ken, Great video, They say the bigger the vehicle the higher the running costs. Just a shame you did not have the manual when the ladder got stuck, could have saved so time, but who reads manuals anyway.
You know that when they referred a truck a lot of times they add air conditioning to the camp over and the cab forward... List shovel trucks that have been referred over the years that they've added it in .. Walmart department had a truck referred they asked if we wanted AC unit in in the township said no They were paying...
Ken - Have you wired up the electronic siren in the ladder truck? Most Federal Signal & Whelen units have an input for “Radio”, meant to be connected to the speaker audio output of a 2-way radio in the cab of the apparatus. It’s easily connected to any SPEAKER level output of an audio device and amplifies the signal and routes it to the external speaker(s). (generally 100w or 200w output) EXCELLENT way to provide background music for Drone Adventures. 😉 You guys also need to setup a shore line for utility power. Combined with a battery charger / maintainer for the primary vehicle batteries, you’ll rarely end up with dead batteries as you go out for time on the town. LOL. (add portable radio chargers / flashlight chargers / etc.. to keep everything fully topped off and ready to run. There are a few brands that will actually eject (with some force!) the connector from the recessed male inlet on the body of the apparatus. They are solenoid “powered”. Simply apply +DC momentarily and the connector gets ejected. Most Fire Service vehicles are 24vdc) The best way to wire it up…. Connect in parallel to ignition “ON” -or- to glow plug power source to ensure it automatically ejects. DEFINITELY get this type to avoid DRIVING AWAY while still “plugged in” to AC Utility Power. 😳 👍🏼😀
Hey Ken, I'm going on a trip to New York to pick up my own piece of heavy machinery. I bought a 2000 Prevost H3-45 tour bus to turn into a launch pad, I mean, Motor home. :) It's fun having these big machines, isn't it?
Hey guys, that’s so awesome!! Love the fire trucks (and the horns 😂)! We’re in the market to buy one ourselves. How much is your insurance a year on this firetruck?
Oh my goodness. We actually had to get rid of the truck because it was too expensive to maintain. We had to replace one tire and it cost $600. Be aware of the maintenance cost before you buy one. Totally fun vehicle though.
There are a LOT of things to consider when you're going to buy a used fire engine or truck, and I mean l LOT!! From tire condition to engine. The repair cost of some components will out strip how much you paid for the truck, and most of the time cost more than the truck is worth. Engine needs a new supercharger or turbo? Get ready to pay thousands! All new tires will run an easy $3,000. Head gasket needs to be replaced (specially those Detroit Diesels) that will set you back about 2-3K as well. I've walked away from many a "great deal" because the repair cost was more than the value of the truck.
You guys are a hoot! I own an old mid engine pumper. Currently, I am working to get it road worthy again. I actually have a pumper related entertainment objective in mind for it. (wink wink, nod nod, good buddy!)/
👍🏼 OUTSTANDING. IDEA ! Rich is actually a real police officer in Buffalo and did an amazing job with the restore job. I recall that he purchased a second piece of apparatus last month.. I wish Ken lived in our area…. (NorthWest NJ) 🤓 Talk about fun and adventure. 🤣
@@KenHeron did I win a free prize if I just text you and pay for the shipping? LOL I can't believe that scammer keeps popping up. I keep reporting them to youtube. They keep creating new accounts.
I gotta know, having that fire truck did u pick up any girls? Lol !Maybe u all should get some bunker or turnout gear and also make a calendar xxx! Bbbhahah
Camera "person" @6:38... she's been "promoted"??....you can't use the term "HOSED"... you're not Canadian Ken...more importantly, what was that girl hiding in her bra on the ladder, a "socket wrench"?

I feel your pain.
Kinda fun though anyway!

Not a real surprise that the support vehicle for an RX-8 is a fire truck....
🤣🤣🤣

Great for getting through heavy traffic I'll bet? Especially when you turn on the flashy lights and press the NEENAW button 🚒🧑🚒😁
Good to see you having fun

KEN,
I will gladly come drive your big RIG any time you want!!
Hey Ken I get to drive those things all the time
goes further than a mazda without breaking down, so its got that going for it.
They way JC was undressing it looked like he was going to a real fire 🔥 all hot and bothered 🤣.

You won’t convince me to even fill up the tank. By the way after fighting a fire opening the windows is the Air Conditioning !

Shit, the super single steer tires on mine cost $3k a pair, and it has 10 tires. $9.5k to replace all of them.
Cool Ken.
I LOVE YOU KEN
🤓🤘
Dang she brave at end. Wouldn't be me 😱
Omg.. lmao ..Love the e bike in the front seat 😂 just in case. Great entertainment Ken!!

At first I was like. Why? Then I realized. Why not?
Ken you should make the "big chief" horn your bleep horn during your livestream
That's a great bleeping idea.
You and Angry cops should get together for a video. He's a creator from Buffalo NY He bought a firetruck and turned into a party bus.

Does that require a CDL to drive? What a beast!
Do you qualify for a home owners insurance discount??
I have an idea!!! Fly a fire-drone that kills the flames
🚒🤘
"across state lines" ?
Getting peoples drones from trees and rooftops, rescuing cats from tree tops and filling up swimming pools is what I would figure.
Yes indeed.
How much is the maintenance yearly
It really depends on if you have a properly maintained machine to begin with. I can tell you that to replace one tire cost $650.
The first legitimate use of "Batteries to power; turbines to speed!" Not gonna lie: I did a spit take.
That's great you knew what that was!
So cool 😎🤝
Ah, rats! I can't be the first to climb your ladder barefoot!
Jason 🤣
Surprised with that many white haired gentlemen that no one knew what to do with an erection that will not go down.
I gotta know, having that fire truck did u pick up any girls? Lol !Maybe u all should get some bunker or turnout gear and also make a calendar xxx! Bbbhahah
lolol im over 200 dollars in my pickup to fill"
Uh, isn't Jason breaking the law talking on a hand-held cell phone?
You should see a doctor that was way longer than 4 hours.
Wait a minute, didn't you say the station bought the firetruck? Does that mean Jason is your boss?
Jason is the general manager of WJLI.
The real story is that barefoot maniac at the top of the ladder
First
If you pay taxes, you own a real fire truck
5 th yay
Remember a erection lasting more than 4 hours you need to contact your 💊
6th?
Wait, where did the phone go at the end? lmao
