So in 2013 there had been close to no work done on it. If you really want to make a good, quality game that isn't rushed then 4 years is pretty average.
5 and a half years is such a long wait for a game, but the journey is unlike any other game I've ever wanted. This game probably took over 7 years to develop in total! I get that same feeling of pure hype when I see the reveal trailer as I did when I first saw it fresh off my junior year of high school.

Kingdom hearts 3 actually only took about 4 years to develop, they had to scrap all their progress and restart on the unreal engine in 2014, which is why we never really got a real trailer in 2014
I still remember what I was doing when that first trailer dropped and how I wasn't on my laptop and didn't know until a friend texted me to check if I was alive and then immediately dropped everything to check what the hell was going on. I'm not gonna lie, I started tearing up when I saw the reveal trailer again. It's amazing to see how far we've come. Seeing them all at once like this was an amazing experience. I remember when for the first time I actually believed KH3 was coming (Toy Story) and just how much I didn't believe this game was actually happening. I still remember what I was doing when each trailer dropped, who I was with, how late I stayed up for these waiting, and how many nights I stayed up late for a trailer to come that never did. It may almost be over, but the road to KH3 has been an amazing experience, and whatever January 29th brings, I know one thing's for sure. After seeing these trailers, I absolutely cannot wait for it to get here.

I can't believe it's been 3 years since KH3 dropped. After years of "This game is never going to come out" memes, Kingdom Hearts 3 is upon us. DLC and all. And now all we can do is wait patiently once again for Kingdom Hearts 4. Hopefully the wait won't be as long as 3's was. I remember diving into this franchise in middle school. What was not spoiled from the trailers: Ven being awake Terranort killing everyone Ephemer and the union cross attack Yen Sid Help Xehanort's true motivations The hints regarding Luxu in Olympus (they would not have put the epilogue in a trailer) Members 9 to 12 being from keyblade wielders from the past Subject X How the orgXIII members dies Sora using the power of waking to save his friends' hearts by extension turning back time to face off Terranort once again Everything else was spoiled in the trailers.
This is exactly why I don't watch game trailers leading up to release anymore. For example, as soon as I heard Metroid Dread was coming out, I went complete radio silence, and I'm glad I did, because pretty much everything gets spoiled in trailers these days! If you watch the trailers leading up to Monster Hunter games, it's like, every single monster is shown to you. There are no more surprises, no mysteries. So yeah, when they announce a new KH game, I'm going to watch the teaser/reveal/whatever and then go off the internet for 6 years if I have to. You can only play a game for the first time, ONCE. After that, it's not the same.
God I hope we never have to go through the agony of having so many unfinished tech demo trailers, exclusive conference trailers prohibited from the public and unsync'd audio just for ONE GAME. Don't even announce KH4 is entering development, just secretly start development, announce it when there's less than 2 years from release date. THAT'S ALL WE NEED.

The game has already received a 4.8 out of 5 stars. That’s honestly really good overall and it’s exactly what I expected from a long-running series like KH. But the simple truth is that fans will buy this game regardless of the reviews, just as I will.
Ya know when I saw that 2013 Trailer, I thought it was perfect, given that a lot of the worlds visited in Kingdom Hearts, were mostly cartoons, I thought that style would have lent itself really well to that feature.

Out of all these trailers the only cut content I can see is the old version of twilight town and the outside of yin sid's tower being playable, very nice square especially coming off of fantasy 15 with all of its cut content from the trailers.
I got 1.5 for Christmas in 2013, when I was 12. I hadn’t played Kingdom Hearts in years at the time since my PS2 broke when I was about 7 or 8 before I could finish KH2 (I believe around the 1000 heartless battle), so I was pretty excited to play a KH game again. After finishing 1.5 I was hooked back into the series. I remembered watching the 2013 KH trailer and getting excited because I thought the game would come out sometime in 2014/2015, boy was I wrong. After waiting for years for this game to come out it’s finally almost here, coming out the day before my birthday, the perfect birthday present for me. It doesn’t feel like it’s real

@@Vaannnard I dunno... From a graphical and perhaps story perspective sure. But from what the trailers have shown and all the tech demos that have been played the actual combat gameplay doesn't seem to be as in depth as KH2's. And no, I'm not just referring to the floaty combat debacle (though that is important too). I mean combat in general seems a bit more streamlined than KH2's. Tbf we still don't know much about abilities and even the transformations so verdict is still mostly out.

In the time it took for KH3 to come out, I graduated high school, became an adult, got a girlfriend, graduated college, and actually completed the Pokémon Gens 1-7 Pokédex plus Meltan (just need Melmetal now).

half a decade of trailers, now here we are after the announcement of KHIV, the real KH next gen game we've imagined KHIII would be like. Versus XIII with Sora, 13 years later. Seeing the early trailers made me think that during the whole development time, Nomura fell in love with Eraqus and Xeahnort's bromance, 7:30 he was a lot more serious compared to what we see in KH3 being playful and friends with Eraqus.
KH3 will FINALLY be released in less than 24 hours and after seeing the current gameplay it’s nice to see what elements from the trailers they kept for the official game
The game was announced back in 2013 and it's coming out here in 2019 this game has been in development for 6 years and the release is just a few weeks away and thus the long wait is almost finally over
There really putting a lot of work into the third game, and seems like there really pouring their heart into this. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being the best game of the franchise and becoming a game of the year, and having most critic scores give 10/10 or 9/10.
@@Vaannnard I never played a kingdom hearts game before, but I have watched several let's play's of the games, and I played the demo of dream drop distance on 3ds which I enjoyed. But I do hope this gets ported to the Switch, hopefully it can happen.

just finished it. I want more! KH4, please. No DLCs, but a full spin-off. I just saw most of these trailers for the first time. What major spoilers, wow. I think I had many more "wow"-effects (Galaxy Toy Store & robots I can ride, worlds I did not expect, Titan fight in Olympus, Monsters Inc. Door Factory and huge outside area which reminds me of FF7, the new opening song, new ending song, Tangled swamp, summons, look/appereance of Sora & co in the worlds, Riku and Mickey in The Dark World, Vanitas showing up in Monsters Inc., old school phone game Classic Kingdom, Marshmallow evolves and gets ice spikes, Swinging with Rapunzel's hair, Xigbar & Larxenne, Dark Aqua, Ship Battles à la freaking Assassins Creed 4, diving & huge underwater world, Riku & Dark Riku on the beach, entirety of San Fransokyo, Bad Ansem & Ansem, fighting as Riku & Aqua, new KH-worlds,...) than most people. Hence why I was blown away with it, unlike people who've known some of these things from the trailers for years. People keep saying that there was nothing to spoiler in the trailers, but naturally those same people will then be disappointed if we strip the game of everything around and just focus on the KH-important core story, which btw was 4~5hrs short in KH1 and KH2, too. Sqex should definitely stop with the huge amount of trailers, it really is just hurting their games in the end. It hurt XV, and it hurt KH3, too. The Final Battle Trailer is the most spoilery one, how can Sqex deliberately spoil it? Look at Nintendo, they did everything to avoid saying anything about the World of Light in Smash Bros, hence why it hit us so strong. KH3 hit me just as strong, because I avoided the trailers like the flu. I'd say the people who deliberately did this to themselves and watched the trailers are at fault too, cause this game had me drop my jaw or scream in excitement a few times because I did not know any of this.
Very glad that I've missed most of these trailers. They spoil way too much, especially the ones from 2017 on. A full trailer about the minigames wasn't really needed nor most of the revelations like Dark Aqua or from keyblade graveyard... Anyway, I'm still impressed with the Pirates of Caribbean trailer and world. Incredibly detailed, props to the team that worked on it.
Really don't get why the FUCK they thought it was a good idea in the slightest to spoil the reveal of Aqua being taken over by darkness like this. So stupid... We spent most of the game waiting for her to be found, it should be A BIG DEAL that she's like this when we finally see her again. But no... Instead, this trailer utterly destroyed that moment by revealing it months before the game was even out yet. JUST WHY. What is this, the CW?! (they often spoil things in their promos) I HATE that I had to go into this game KNOWING Aqua was already lost. It totally ruins the shock and sadness of the moment because KNOW it's coming eventually. :(
@@Vaannnard I just beat the Pirates Of The Carribean world like an hour ago too, and I could be wrong, but it looked like that interval was JUST before the infamous Aqua is evil now what the fuck scene xD I'm going to watch Big Hero 6 for the first time before I start that world. (I did the same with Tangled, and I don't regret it. Despite the fact that the parts included are basically almost word for word the same as the movie, it cuts much of the plot out so I feel it was definitely worth seeing the full story first so it didn't feel like I was missing important information. So I'm going to do the same for Big Hero 6.)
At first I thought that hooded figure was xion or whatever but now I ain't sure cuz in one of the trailers they remove their hood and it looks like Roxas

So before all of the rerecorded battle quotes for Sora, they used DDD for his normal battle quotes, and then KH2 summon quotes for the Links? That... is a bit of a mess in the voice department

Out of all these trailers the only cut content I can see is the old version of twilight town and the outside of yin sid's tower being playable, very nice square especially coming off of fantasy 15 with all of its cut content from the trailers.

We have waited for so long
I got 1.5 for Christmas in 2013, when I was 12. I hadn’t played Kingdom Hearts in years at the time since my PS2 broke when I was about 7 or 8 before I could finish KH2 (I believe around the 1000 heartless battle), so I was pretty excited to play a KH game again. After finishing 1.5 I was hooked back into the series. I remembered watching the 2013 KH trailer and getting excited because I thought the game would come out sometime in 2014/2015, boy was I wrong. After waiting for years for this game to come out it’s finally almost here, coming out the day before my birthday, the perfect birthday present for me. It doesn’t feel like it’s real

From a graphical and perhaps story perspective sure.
But from what the trailers have shown and all the tech demos that have been played the actual combat gameplay doesn't seem to be as in depth as KH2's.
And no, I'm not just referring to the floaty combat debacle (though that is important too). I mean combat in general seems a bit more streamlined than KH2's.
Tbf we still don't know much about abilities and even the transformations so verdict is still mostly out.

half a decade of trailers, now here we are after the announcement of KHIV, the real KH next gen game we've imagined KHIII would be like. Versus XIII with Sora, 13 years later.
Seeing the early trailers made me think that during the whole development time, Nomura fell in love with Eraqus and Xeahnort's bromance, 7:30 he was a lot more serious compared to what we see in KH3 being playful and friends with Eraqus.
I doubt that this will be a next generation exclusive game tho.
Other than that, I'm super excited for KH4
KH3 will FINALLY be released in less than 24 hours and after seeing the current gameplay it’s nice to see what elements from the trailers they kept for the official game

There really putting a lot of work into the third game, and seems like there really pouring their heart into this. I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being the best game of the franchise and becoming a game of the year, and having most critic scores give 10/10 or 9/10.

@@Vaannnard I never played a kingdom hearts game before, but I have watched several let's play's of the games, and I played the demo of dream drop distance on 3ds which I enjoyed. But I do hope this gets ported to the Switch, hopefully it can happen.

I just saw most of these trailers for the first time. What major spoilers, wow. I think I had many more "wow"-effects (Galaxy Toy Store & robots I can ride, worlds I did not expect, Titan fight in Olympus, Monsters Inc. Door Factory and huge outside area which reminds me of FF7, the new opening song, new ending song, Tangled swamp, summons, look/appereance of Sora & co in the worlds, Riku and Mickey in The Dark World, Vanitas showing up in Monsters Inc., old school phone game Classic Kingdom, Marshmallow evolves and gets ice spikes, Swinging with Rapunzel's hair, Xigbar & Larxenne, Dark Aqua, Ship Battles à la freaking Assassins Creed 4, diving & huge underwater world, Riku & Dark Riku on the beach, entirety of San Fransokyo, Bad Ansem & Ansem, fighting as Riku & Aqua, new KH-worlds,...) than most people. Hence why I was blown away with it, unlike people who've known some of these things from the trailers for years. People keep saying that there was nothing to spoiler in the trailers, but naturally those same people will then be disappointed if we strip the game of everything around and just focus on the KH-important core story, which btw was 4~5hrs short in KH1 and KH2, too. Sqex should definitely stop with the huge amount of trailers, it really is just hurting their games in the end. It hurt XV, and it hurt KH3, too.
The Final Battle Trailer is the most spoilery one, how can Sqex deliberately spoil it? Look at Nintendo, they did everything to avoid saying anything about the World of Light in Smash Bros, hence why it hit us so strong. KH3 hit me just as strong, because I avoided the trailers like the flu. I'd say the people who deliberately did this to themselves and watched the trailers are at fault too, cause this game had me drop my jaw or scream in excitement a few times because I did not know any of this.

Very glad that I've missed most of these trailers. They spoil way too much, especially the ones from 2017 on. A full trailer about the minigames wasn't really needed nor most of the revelations like Dark Aqua or from keyblade graveyard...
Anyway, I'm still impressed with the Pirates of Caribbean trailer and world. Incredibly detailed, props to the team that worked on it.

Really don't get why the FUCK they thought it was a good idea in the slightest to spoil the reveal of Aqua being taken over by darkness like this. So stupid... We spent most of the game waiting for her to be found, it should be A BIG DEAL that she's like this when we finally see her again. But no... Instead, this trailer utterly destroyed that moment by revealing it months before the game was even out yet. JUST WHY. What is this, the CW?! (they often spoil things in their promos) I HATE that I had to go into this game KNOWING Aqua was already lost. It totally ruins the shock and sadness of the moment because KNOW it's coming eventually. :(

@@Vaannnard I just beat the Pirates Of The Carribean world like an hour ago too, and I could be wrong, but it looked like that interval was JUST before the infamous Aqua is evil now what the fuck scene xD I'm going to watch Big Hero 6 for the first time before I start that world. (I did the same with Tangled, and I don't regret it. Despite the fact that the parts included are basically almost word for word the same as the movie, it cuts much of the plot out so I feel it was definitely worth seeing the full story first so it didn't feel like I was missing important information. So I'm going to do the same for Big Hero 6.)
