I have 18 yellow ringneck and 5 blue ringneck aaaand 2 green ringnecks and I have more macaws some of them are RUDE tooo RUDE for a cool dude man theres a macaw that always bites me and I fed him calcium block and she stopped so I think she felt weak and she bit me and I fed her that and she stopped now she watches videos with me without biting me
My IRN Bowie was an 8 yr old blue female who had never been socialized, handled or allowed to fly. She I got her, she was in a 15x18" cage, which was way too small. I got her a bigger wrought iron cage that she loved. She bit quite hard, but I had quickly discovered she would do almost anything for blueberries. So, to save my finger, I would put my finger on a cage bar, or just far enough where she could touch my finger but not clamp down. When she tried but did not succeed, I would say GOOD KISS and give her a blueberry. Since she took the blueberry gently, I knew she had it in her to be gentle. If I put my finger against the bar and she tried to bite but the bar prevented a full bite, I would say NO BITING, ONLY KISSES, then ask for a kiss. The next bite was always less forceful and soon was always a kiss, varying in gentleness, but never breaking skin or bruising. She was coming along so nicely, but a series of misfortunes took her away and she died. Just hearing the coo cooing of yours brought tears to my eyes.
Thank you, I am going to try this. I got a 6 week old Indian ring neck baby that has now grown up but still bites me. Sometimes I feel like I am failing, but then I see the small improvement and seing your relationship with your parrots keeps me motivated.
There are a few components to house training a parrot. One place I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Parrot Ploy Plan (check it out on google) it's the best blueprint that I've seen.Check out all the unbelievable info .
Oh my goodness I have a 3 month old Indian ringneck and its freaking scary I honestly feel you. Literally she has no reason to bite but she just likes and I honestly dont know what to do and twisting and turning my fingers or hand will literally cause more damage to me

I just adopted a rescue Amazon parrot. He is 36 years old and was kept in a locked cage without toys. He was very afraid of hands. I visited him at the rescue for several weeks. I sat on a chair fir several hours each day with his cage door open. I offered various treats until he would take them from my hands. Then I put a hand in between him and the treat so he would step on it to get to the treat. This took many days. Then I brought a carrier and got him used to it sitting there. I bought all of the perches and toys in his cage at the rescue to place them in the same spots in my cage at home. Then I took him home. It is important to let a new bird decide to come to you. If you do it this gentle way you will avoid bites. He has never bitten me because I respect his boundaries.
Hey Patel question for you, what do you feed them? I have the yellow bird 6 months old. Plus bites I do give her command to stop but I seems like she is not listing. What treat are you giving your birds?
I learned this trick from a bird master who knows a lot tricks it might take a while to work so he told me to take any thing flat like a tablet with any colered cover will work I tried a really aggressive African grey and a aggressive Cokatail it works perfectly try it see if it works and if you want it to get out of your shoulder take the same tab and it will climb
I’m considering adopting an Indian ring neck from a local bird sanctuary. When I met this particular bird, it seemed a lot like it was teething on my fingers, constantly like “biting” me but with next to no pressure at all. I didn’t know until researching about them that they’re capable of making people bleed, good to know just in case. This was a good video to learn about the biting as I was looking it up just now
My parrot is a female one we rescued her during a fall of a tree it's been more than 4 years...it doesn't speak alot but gives so much response by it's sound ...it even laughs when we do....but it always try to bite when we take our fingers close to it .. and it plays with it toys a bit rude i feel like it's so hyper active am i right or what should I do ???
Well, give your bird a cage free time is very important. If not then they get aggressive after a while. Hope you would be doing it. Also try to train him and teach discipline by some word commands. Also try to train him with treats. Feed only if he obeys your command otherwise don't give him that treat.
@@HardikPatelBuzz thankyou so much...but most of the time my parrot is out of tha cage ......she obeys us ...but a little rude in someways don't know y she's being like that... I'll try to do wat you say...😊

Aloha I have a female Indian ringneck she’s a year few & a few months old! I’ve been training her I got her when she was a few months old. However she still bites. She gets extremely territorial over one of her perches! If I get too close to this perch she will literally fly off the perch and attack me. How do I stop her from doing that? I do train her daily I spend time with her all the time she has her own room she’s got a ginormous cage in her own room… Advice please
The towel thing actually worked 👍 I use it too take out my ringneck from he's cage and he doesn't bite, he comes straight to my hand with the towel. Thank you
I know this video is kind of old but I have a ringneck and he is very aggressive. He will bow his head to me so I can give him scratches but only for a few seconds before trying to strike. I think that with time I can do this though. He used to only strike but he bows his head down and lets me pet him. Even if it's only for a few seconds, it's something!
I have just bought a female ringneck parrot and she is made age and new to me she is very very shy and will not come to me at all I tried to pick her up but she just bit my hand a lot and I put her back in her cage calmly what are some good ways to help me in my bird
I have a3month old ring neck.. he doesn't have a favorite treat.. he doesn't use his feet to step up, i have been bitten but because he used his beak to step up.. what can i do because now I'm leary about being bit again
I have a 15 year old african grey - Yakob - who is very active, noisy and cuddly. She started laying eggs, so 6 months ago I got a younger male, Coco. So far they have not mated. He is frustrated because she bullies him and sometimes knocks him off his perch. She can fly very well but he can't (his previous owner cut his feathers really badly and they are not re-growing properly). They are in a garden aviary during the day but I bring them inside at night (they love being outside). If I put my hand too near Coco he bites, but he lets me carry him around on a perch. So far I have not rushed to train him to stop biting, step up, etc. Should I try to train him or wait until he and Yakob are better friends?
Nice videos and very informative I am planning to buy ring neck and have paid half amount to breeder to reserve the 5 weeks old chick however now I feel guilty that because of me the parrot will stay forever in my home /cage. Is it normal to feel this way? Do we feel the same we get dog as a pet? Can someone help me in deciding
My Cockatiel has turned into an attack bird over night. He used to flock call me every morning, any time he wanted out of his cage to be with me. He enjoys being petted on his head, has his eyes closed very relaxed. Then turns around and bites me. Then walks up and bites my face. Could it be he is going through the bluffing stage? As in going in to puberty? He is doing other things like walking low to the grown with slightly out. I have had him since he was a baby. He has always been good about stepping up etc.
+sheetal khullar No colour can't affect their living. Both can live together but because both are same gender, it may be(in very few chances ) possible that they will fight for territory but usually in most cases they will live happily together like Mittu and Charlie. Buy different color would be great.
I have an Indian ringneck parrot. He came himself to an open cage when I was wandering on my roof. I don't know how much old he is, but it's been 2 weeks and it seems like he still does not recognize us. He used to bite my finger but it doesn't have enough power to make a cut. Should I take him out of the cage (in a closed room) to train or do that in cage only?
If you feel like it's less than 6 months old then I would suggest you to feed him by yourself. train him not to bite as this could be right age when you can train. you can take him inside house or room and train. Open area is much better and comfortable to him then close cage.
hi i have a alexandrine male think he's about 7 months old he's got a leg band which i can't find any info also he feeds from hand yet still aggressive towards me please help

Hi there, I need all the help I can get. Adopted a mature male Indian ringneck two days ago. His owner's passed away and was being given away. He doesn't know me obviously and showing signs of aggression and tries to bite. I pull back but try to not show him I am afraid of him. How do I gain his trust? He rarely wants to take food from my hand. Please help me. 😫
Mature male Indian ringnecks are difficult to tame. I had one recently and he is the same. But I successfully trained him not to bite and follow my commands like go back to cage and come on inside the house etc. But he doesn't like to come to my shoulder or finger and neither he wants anything to be fed. You may need to spend more time with him. Yell out when e tries to bite. Show some aggression if he bites you. Slowly he may get familiar with you and will start following your commands.
I have a new 8 year old ringneck. She bites me but less hard every day. I also have a 3 yr old Green Cheek Conure that I got because the previous owner was terrified of. He took chunks out of me initially. I teach my parrots not to bite by saying "no bites, only kisses". If they are in the cage, I put my finger on the bar so that if they try to bite hard, they can't because the bar prevents it. When they try and cannot, I say happily "good kiss!" And reward them. With the longer beaks of the IRN, or other birds, use the bar and a bit of distance. It's also important to find a treat that will really make them happy. With my Bowie, it's blueberries. I talk to her softly every day, several times a day, in her cage and set her up for success with distance and the bar. When she is out, I approach her but keep my hands down at first, and slowly brought them up. Now, on the top of the cage, she will come down from the high perch and come face to face with me and gently take the blueberry. She sings contentedly in her cage or on it. Here she has toys, other birds she is starting to be nice to, a dog and a cat that line birds, tons of toys and stuff to chew, plus swings and ladders and bells. She was in a cage that was nice but 18"x18", which is way too small. She is in a 24x22 now but will be getting a 30 or 32" cage when money allows. I can tell she wants to be a nice bird. She just has some bad memories to work through.
my ringneck won’t step up only had or a short time, but she will come to me when out on her own but bits me anywhere. Arms, hands, legs anywhere. for no reason just does it.
So I just a bird about a week ago and she is always biting me I do everything I can like give her treats when she does bite me and I'll say no don't bite in a nice way I don't scream because I don't want to scare her and she's a year old like you she can be hard to train when their older can you help
First I had 20 to 30 parrots when I was 5,6 years old but I accedently opened the cage and didnt know how to close it and they flew away after 4 to 5 years I had two love birds but one died so I bought another one but they were always fighting so then I bougth two austrailian parrots but a cat came and it ingerd one and it died know I am going to buy more
My Indian ringneck is only 2 days old I bought him or her 2 days ago . But parrot is very afraid. And when ever some goes near his cage parrot start panicking. He jump here and there. I don't know why. Plz suggest what should I do to gain his trust
I need help in training my female green parrot. I just bought her and forgot to ask the seller about her age. She doesn't want to get out of her cage and she always bites me whenever i try to touch her.
He loves to be pet and come out of the cage but hated hands and doesn’t understand how to come out of the cage yet we have had him for less than a month though
I adopt a 1 year old female ringneck, she is really aggressive, she will take food from your hand, but if you dont have food and trying to apporach her, she will bite, really hard. if you are trying to make her step on your hand even with food, she will also bite you really hard, and she is smart, if you wear any hand gloves, she will ignore the food, does nothing. if you bare hand, she bites you, only calm when you give food straight away. She is not shy that means she will just walk out of the cage if you leave the cage open, just every time when you trying to approch, she is so aggressive. Need some tips to change this situation
My parrot is only one and a half years old but he bites sometimes when someone irritate him or like keep fingers on his feathers or when any other take him from me. My parrot is like Charle( green)
Hi yesterday i bought a monk Parrot, he is 3 months old but he biting us, especially when we try to catch him to let it out of his cage .. It's strange that a baby Parrot bites so hard.. What can I do anyway?
It may take few days to get your parrot familiar with you. Once he started getting comfortable atound you and start trusting you, he will learn whatever you teach him. But keep trying.
I have an Indian ring neck and he gets upset when I have to go to work and bites at the cage and goes for my fingers instead of his treats if I try to give him one. Other times of day he is fine taking treats.
You have to train them. They may bite you on first two to five times but don't pull off your fingers. Just get angry on them when they try to bite. And command them not to bite.
+sheetal khullar Any age.. But get them home when they are less than 3 months old so they will get used to with your house environment and grow up there so would be easy to tame.
+sheetal khullar As soon as they start eating seeds, you can move them to cage. Usually they can be able walk properly which means they can be alright in cage.
I've only had my ringneck for two weeks, I'm going very slowly with him as he has had a rough start with his previous owner rushing him. He is only seven months old, they clipped his wings and used black gloves to handle him. I've thrown them away, he is learning now that my hands are kind and when I do anything it is associated with fresh fruit and vegetables he doesn't squawk or hiss at my hands now. That has taken two weeks, please could you tell me a good technique to get him to step onto my hand that will not stress him, something I can do slowly, as I do not want to loose his trust.
I have 2 ringnecks they are 3 months old and i bought them when they were 7 weeks, i handfed them until they were fully weaned(12 weeks). But they are constantly biting me and they won't listen. They will fly away when i try to teach them something with a clicker. The only thing they Can do is step up and eat out of my hand and in the cage they let me pet them. But when they are out of the cage they won't let me pet them or they won't listen. What do i do please help.
How to find parrot in stress?. Every time I put my parrot sit near me with cage. She is in top of tha cage. And she want to stand in my shoulders. So she get down in cage. And climb in my shoulders. Sometimes when she is in my shoulders suddenly she get aggressive making sound and bit my ears .if I put fingers in my shoulder she bite . Then I don't react and return back to her cage. But again she came to me.and return to my shoulders and she bit me. What I do?. she doing lot of times in one day. i dont react to her and make her to know if shr bit .i return her in cage top. but she doing same thing every day

Thank you for help I am going to try this
U said giv dem some reword what should give for 3months babies and where we can get yellow parrot pls tel me

But then they know that’s how they get the attention by biting
How to sit the parrot in your fingure if it is a baby
I have an Indian ring neck and he gets upset when I have to go to work and bites at the cage and goes for my fingers instead of his treats if I try to give him one. Other times of day he is fine taking treats.
I have 3 birds only one of them corporate while the other 2 tends to bite always. What do I do?
You have to train them. They may bite you on first two to five times but don't pull off your fingers. Just get angry on them when they try to bite. And command them not to bite.
I have the same parrot that green one and he bites he does not step up either so I will try this thank you so much for your information
You're welcome.
What is your yellow parrot breed name
What is the minimum age for a budgie to be brought at home
+sheetal khullar
Any age..
But get them home when they are less than 3 months old so they will get used to with your house environment and grow up there so would be easy to tame.
What a beautiful accent!
Also at what age do we hve to keep them in cage from the box..
+sheetal khullar
As soon as they start eating seeds, you can move them to cage.
Usually they can be able walk properly which means they can be alright in cage.
+sheetal khullar
Age wise It could be depend on birds but somewhere between 3 to 6 months.
Wt food should be given for 3 months babies
Buy bird formula powder which you can mix with water and feed the loose paste by syringe.
Thanks alot. Evn i have a yellow ringneck and it bites alot.. hope this is helpful

It's also bits the wood , the wood has been broken into small pieces by bitten by my bird , for that what can I do
For finger, you have to give them command and raise your voice to stop them when they do that but let them bite thewood as they love to chew the wood.

i have a red bellied parrot and he is in the senegal family and he bites every one so i hold him with a sleeve
Bro. Is there any way to find out gender in baby parrot except DNA test
Bhai jo dark green parrot hai woh male parrot hai yan female plzzz tell me
My green parrot Charlie is male and yellow parrot Mittu is female.
How do I tell my bird no ? I don’t want him chewing on things
They observe your body language. When you react and so rejection, they will eventually stop doing those things.
He is scratching his beak , what would be the reason?
To clean in most cases.
Sometime to sharpen up.
It's natural.
If I were gloves my parrot runs away pls tell what to do
Ya that's natural. It takes time for them to get familiar with any new objects.
