My conversion kit says it's coming the 29th of October. It was available for like an hour and I ordered it and now it says it's unavailable. But anyway the conversion kit wouldn't have anything to do with the battery itself

Me too! All along they've made their batteries work in multiple cases and at least we always knew the batteries could work for other things or likely be carried forward but the whole strap? That just feels unprecedented and I'm here for it!

I am amazed they did this! Sadly the F2 would require a full interface replacement as the new one is quite different. It may not be cost effective to do it rather than just do a total redesign.

Recently bought a BoboVR M2 Plus for my Quest 2 for under $30 after rocking the Kiwi Design headstrap for 2 years. I think it's a nice upgrade in comfort for me.
Heck yes! Now you can keep that comfort too! Although with the closer gravity of the Quest 3 and thinner profile it's going to be really comfy with this strap. Even better than the 2!

The audio is louder and thicker on the Quest Pro arms, I wonder if they brought those speakers over to the Quest 3 because that looks like a similar port design as the Pro. I know I'd love the better audio as the Quest 2 never got loud enough for me.

Yes!! Upcycle! The fan might be harder because the top of the 3 is so much shorter it may not have the room to rest really. Also the facial interface has that whole telescoping design. It may be possible though. We'll have to see.
I'm hoping someone releases a handle for the new remotes for games like golf, tennis, etc. as soon as the Quest 3 comes out. I don't think the handles that worked for the Quest 2 remotes will work with the Quest 3 remotes. I could be wrong.

Nice, I have 2 x BoBoVR M2 straps with battery for my and my wife's Quest-2 and I also have the BoBoVR kit for my Pico 4, great products which I am very happy with. For them to make a adaptor kit to be able to use the same M2 strap with the Quest 3 is much appreciated depending on the price of course. Not sure if I'll be getting a Quest-3, but knowing the M2 option will be available is one last thing to worry about. :)

I got my quest 2 out the other week to sell it with my m2 pro and all accessories but hesitated selling the bobo strap as it looked super easy to convert! So pleased I didn’t sell it in the end 😅
Kudos to Bobovr for the upgrade option. However, I hear there is no plan for an M1 conversion kit. I came up with a solution. I bought a Quest 3 elite style strap and used it as a conversion kit for my M1 Strap. I can provide details if needed
Awesome news. A thought that made me hesitant to really go for a quest 3 was im gonna have to get yet another strap batteries etc. Looks my good ole M1 is sticking with me. Controller grips i can wait on. May just be gking for a Q3 asap, really excited to see if the pancake lenses are as much of an upgrade as they seem. I dont want fresnal lenses anymore.

Unfortunately this doesn't help me since I use the M1, but this is great news and a very consumer friendly choice by BOBOVR. I'm really hoping I can still get an M1 for Quest 3 to ship in parallel with my Quest 3 whenever that might happen. I'm sure they are working on it furiously.
First BOBOVR has great products, and I've got I think all they offer for the Quest 2. That should be enough to build customer loyalty, but THEN to see them offer an upgrade like this instead of going for the big bucks they could have made is tremendous. Companies that offer a good deal to its customers reap many more benefits. There will be a lot of new Quest 3 first time buyers that will hear a lot of recommendations from current Quest 2/BOBOVR owners. I'm betting it pays off BIG for BOBOVR.
I thank you Jay for suggesting the BOBOVR headstrap and now BOBOVR for looking out for us buyers!!!! Glad we can still use the strap and battery strap. I hope we can still use the F2 fan and the A2 headphones. Im sure we will have to get new lenses (I use Reloptix). Looking forward to the Quest 3!!!!
I'm so happy to see Bobo doing this! Sadly the A2 and F2 would be much harder to pull off so we'll see. The A2 blocks the new AUX port and USB port and has the cable now on the wrong side. The A2 would still need a brand new facial interface so only the fan could swap over so it may not be worth it at the price.
While I love that the Quest 3 is on it's way soon but not being able to take over a lot of my Quest 2 accessories is a hard pill to swallow. I've definitely added at least $150 in just accessories over the years and it's sad to see a lot of them go.
At least some of them can live on! Others will too. Grips that hook on from the bottom could work, cases, cables and such. Hopefully we get some more good news like this.
Seen a few TH-camrs showing off these images of upgrade kits but none are sharing a link to where we can buy them and a Google search just takes me back to these videos!
Sadly it looks like it woudn't be possible. The M1 needs a front clip to stay stable and the Quest 3 has those ports in the way. It may be possible but for now only the M2 is getting a kit.
@@jaybratt, I’m willing to work on a prototype for them. I don’t want to get in to a lot of technical industry jargon but it involves a cordless drill, some double sided tape, tequila, and zip ties.
It has to be said BoboVR are the kings when it comes to Oculus accesories, doesn't save me money mind you as i'll need to buy a new head strap for the Q3 when my daughter claims the Q2

I think the case will definitely be ok. Extra room usually doesn't hurt. As long as the Quest 3 itself isn't taller and makes the case not want to close you should be fine.
I'm so glad they created this, i was about to list my quest 2 with my bobovr and everything i had up for sale thinking what a bummer i just purchased bobovr a few months ago but now i don't have to!
For now we don't have a lot of options we know will work. I'd say wait a bit. The Quest 3 looks like it might have the better speakers in the arms the Quest Pro had so less people may feel like they need headphones. The other tough part is they moved the aux port to the other side so most quest 2 headphones will have too short of a cable to use on the 3.
This is friggin' awesome news! I just ordered a 3rd battery now knowing the strap will work on the three with a mod from Bobo. Any idea when we can order the kit?

It won't work. The aux port is on the other side so the cable will be way too short. It would also block the aux port and the USB port with the new design.
News of this conversion kit from BOBOVR has made my day! My quest 3 pre-ordered, I WAS set to wipe-n-sell my whole Quest 2 setup for a cool $500 CDN, including the attached battery strap, and charging station with both batteries, and the BOBOVR complete docking station (I've never charged my Quest 2 and controllers ANY other way, the battery doors on the controllers having been removed ONLY ONCE for BOBOVR's upgrade solution). All that's left to ponder now: Is there anyway that BOBOVR can make some kind of conversion kit - but for its CHARGING DOCK? (Given that, - and I'm not 100% certain of this as of yet because I haven't studied the 'where-is-what' on the Q3) ... ok example: is the USB charging port in the exact location that it is the Q2, making the idea of a conversion kit for charging, a possibility? Maybe I didn't choose the proper descriptive dialog here but I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this, lol ... But in a perfect world ..... Anyway, thanks so much, love your content, and I'll see y'all in Quest 3 land in a mere few days from now!! 😁
Does BoboVR have any updates on an M1 Conversion Kit, or an Elite Style Headstrap? The Halo Straps cause me headaches but the Elite Style doesn't so I want to know if we'll be getting that as well.
Not yet, as soon as we get any info on it I'll share. Sadly that would be much harder because M1 needs a front point to hold onto and the 3 has those ports in the way.
@@jaybratt I figured they could retroactivally put in the holes like what Meta is doing with their own Elite Strap. Hopefully it won't be to long after the Quest 3 release that we year something because I don't want to be using the Meta Elite strap for to long.
The tricky thing for Kiwi would be their battery is all built in. Yes they could swap out the side arms but Bobo always made their battery packs so you could use them for anything, even your phone. I hope this leads the charge of a consumer focused business movement for accessories but for now Bobo stands alone in doing something like this. They got some big respect from me on this move!
Nice! I have the M2 and I use it in a very specific modded janky way that is comfortable for me so I was worried I’d have to use the stock Q3 until M3 comes out.
@@jaybratt oof. Just realized I got the pro and not the plus and there’s a difference 😂. Is the plus much more comfortable and grip to your head better? Especially the wider back padding. I find the pro to be slipping with the back mainly looking down and have to adjust it many times because my hair growing out. Still does wonders, but curious if it’s worth the upgrade to wait to get the M3 instead the retrokit
Just got home with my Quest 3, looking at my Q2 with Bobovr pro strap and thinking , if only it would fit my new Quest, next TH-cam I watch and Bingo, looks like the Bobo lives on and I needn’t sell it with the Q2, what great news, hopefully it will be released soon.
It is going to be bigger yeah. You can at least fold the rear half forward and it's not so bad but some people keep the stock strap just to swap for travel.
If it's the M2 then yeah, it just won't have the battery which is still way more comfortable. In fact it's kind of nice not having the extra weight as the counterweight doesn't seem as necessary anymore.
There is just one thing i'm afraid of. I want to get my hands on an M3 when i get my Quest 3 but i want to know one thing first. Isn't it possible for the headset to slip off the strap because it doesn't click in ? Like if you spin arround is the headset gonna fly in a wall or is it really that good at holding it in place ?

I was still holding hope it might just work but the Quest 3 arms look to be much thicker. I'm impressed they're doing a low price conversion kit instead of just selling a bunch of whole new straps. Good for Bobo!

I do hope someone makes a similar partial light blocker facial interface to use with a halo style strap like the Bobo VR, especially for mixed reality experiences. I don’t have a Quest Pro but do know people who do and prefer the experience of using the partial light blockers over a full light blocking facial interface. They say it helps with VR sickness too.
@@jaybratt Definitely, I’ll try that first. Do you have a Quest Pro? Have you tried using it with and without the partial light blockers? I’m guessing they help reduce glare on the lenses from external light sources.

Yes!! Upcycle! The fan might be harder because the top of the 3 is so much shorter it may not have the room to rest really. Also the facial interface has that whole telescoping design. It may be possible though. We'll have to see.
I'm hoping someone releases a handle for the new remotes for games like golf, tennis, etc. as soon as the Quest 3 comes out. I don't think the handles that worked for the Quest 2 remotes will work with the Quest 3 remotes. I could be wrong.

Nice, I have 2 x BoBoVR M2 straps with battery for my and my wife's Quest-2 and I also have the BoBoVR kit for my Pico 4, great products which I am very happy with. For them to make a adaptor kit to be able to use the same M2 strap with the Quest 3 is much appreciated depending on the price of course.
Not sure if I'll be getting a Quest-3, but knowing the M2 option will be available is one last thing to worry about. :)
I hear you! I have so many Bobo Straps and battery packs now! A lot of companies would've redesigned the whole thing including the battery mount just to sell more. We WON today... even if it was a small battle it's a Win! :)

I got my quest 2 out the other week to sell it with my m2 pro and all accessories but hesitated selling the bobo strap as it looked super easy to convert! So pleased I didn’t sell it in the end 😅

Kudos to Bobovr for the upgrade option. However, I hear there is no plan for an M1 conversion kit. I came up with a solution. I bought a Quest 3 elite style strap and used it as a conversion kit for my M1 Strap. I can provide details if needed

Awesome news. A thought that made me hesitant to really go for a quest 3 was im gonna have to get yet another strap batteries etc. Looks my good ole M1 is sticking with me. Controller grips i can wait on. May just be gking for a Q3 asap, really excited to see if the pancake lenses are as much of an upgrade as they seem. I dont want fresnal lenses anymore.

Unfortunately this doesn't help me since I use the M1, but this is great news and a very consumer friendly choice by BOBOVR. I'm really hoping I can still get an M1 for Quest 3 to ship in parallel with my Quest 3 whenever that might happen. I'm sure they are working on it furiously.
The conversion wouldn't be as simple sadly but if they tell me anything on it I'll share for sure!

First BOBOVR has great products, and I've got I think all they offer for the Quest 2. That should be enough to build customer loyalty, but THEN to see them offer an upgrade like this instead of going for the big bucks they could have made is tremendous. Companies that offer a good deal to its customers reap many more benefits. There will be a lot of new Quest 3 first time buyers that will hear a lot of recommendations from current Quest 2/BOBOVR owners. I'm betting it pays off BIG for BOBOVR.

I hope we can still use the F2 fan and the A2 headphones. Im sure we will have to get new lenses (I use Reloptix). Looking forward to the Quest 3!!!!
I'm so happy to see Bobo doing this! Sadly the A2 and F2 would be much harder to pull off so we'll see. The A2 blocks the new AUX port and USB port and has the cable now on the wrong side. The A2 would still need a brand new facial interface so only the fan could swap over so it may not be worth it at the price.
While I love that the Quest 3 is on it's way soon but not being able to take over a lot of my Quest 2 accessories is a hard pill to swallow. I've definitely added at least $150 in just accessories over the years and it's sad to see a lot of them go.
At least some of them can live on! Others will too. Grips that hook on from the bottom could work, cases, cables and such. Hopefully we get some more good news like this.
Seen a few TH-camrs showing off these images of upgrade kits but none are sharing a link to where we can buy them and a Google search just takes me back to these videos!

Any word on an M1 conversion kit? I figure that one is a little harder to pull off.
Sadly it looks like it woudn't be possible. The M1 needs a front clip to stay stable and the Quest 3 has those ports in the way. It may be possible but for now only the M2 is getting a kit.
I'm also waiting for an M1 solution. Sadly the halo style straps just won't stay on my head for the kinds of games I play.
@@jaybratt, I’m willing to work on a prototype for them. I don’t want to get in to a lot of technical industry jargon but it involves a cordless drill, some double sided tape, tequila, and zip ties.
It has to be said BoboVR are the kings when it comes to Oculus accesories, doesn't save me money mind you as i'll need to buy a new head strap for the Q3 when my daughter claims the Q2

I think the case will definitely be ok. Extra room usually doesn't hurt. As long as the Quest 3 itself isn't taller and makes the case not want to close you should be fine.

what headphones would you recommend getting with the strap you converted?
For now we don't have a lot of options we know will work. I'd say wait a bit. The Quest 3 looks like it might have the better speakers in the arms the Quest Pro had so less people may feel like they need headphones. The other tough part is they moved the aux port to the other side so most quest 2 headphones will have too short of a cable to use on the 3.

Hi you know what about fitting the a2 air on the strap after converting to quest 3?
It won't work. The aux port is on the other side so the cable will be way too short. It would also block the aux port and the USB port with the new design.
Just bought a BoboVR M2+ to replace the elite strap just because of the conversion kit!
News of this conversion kit from BOBOVR has made my day! My quest 3 pre-ordered, I WAS set to wipe-n-sell my whole Quest 2 setup for a cool $500 CDN, including the attached battery strap, and charging station with both batteries, and the BOBOVR complete docking station (I've never charged my Quest 2 and controllers ANY other way, the battery doors on the controllers having been removed ONLY ONCE for BOBOVR's upgrade solution). All that's left to ponder now: Is there anyway that BOBOVR can make some kind of conversion kit - but for its CHARGING DOCK? (Given that, - and I'm not 100% certain of this as of yet because I haven't studied the 'where-is-what' on the Q3) ... ok example: is the USB charging port in the exact location that it is the Q2, making the idea of a conversion kit for charging, a possibility? Maybe I didn't choose the proper descriptive dialog here but I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this, lol ... But in a perfect world .....

Does BoboVR have any updates on an M1 Conversion Kit, or an Elite Style Headstrap? The Halo Straps cause me headaches but the Elite Style doesn't so I want to know if we'll be getting that as well.
Not yet, as soon as we get any info on it I'll share. Sadly that would be much harder because M1 needs a front point to hold onto and the 3 has those ports in the way.
@@jaybratt I figured they could retroactivally put in the holes like what Meta is doing with their own Elite Strap. Hopefully it won't be to long after the Quest 3 release that we year something because I don't want to be using the Meta Elite strap for to long.

The tricky thing for Kiwi would be their battery is all built in. Yes they could swap out the side arms but Bobo always made their battery packs so you could use them for anything, even your phone. I hope this leads the charge of a consumer focused business movement for accessories but for now Bobo stands alone in doing something like this. They got some big respect from me on this move!

@@jaybratt oof. Just realized I got the pro and not the plus and there’s a difference 😂. Is the plus much more comfortable and grip to your head better? Especially the wider back padding. I find the pro to be slipping with the back mainly looking down and have to adjust it many times because my hair growing out. Still does wonders, but curious if it’s worth the upgrade to wait to get the M3 instead the retrokit
Just got home with my Quest 3, looking at my Q2 with Bobovr pro strap and thinking , if only it would fit my new Quest, next TH-cam I watch and Bingo, looks like the Bobo lives on and I needn’t sell it with the Q2, what great news, hopefully it will be released soon.

It is going to be bigger yeah. You can at least fold the rear half forward and it's not so bad but some people keep the stock strap just to swap for travel.

I ordered a M3 headstrap a cupla days ago. It was a no-brainer.
I have the BOBOVR strap, the version with no battery. Will this conversion kit still work?
If it's the M2 then yeah, it just won't have the battery which is still way more comfortable. In fact it's kind of nice not having the extra weight as the counterweight doesn't seem as necessary anymore.
There is just one thing i'm afraid of. I want to get my hands on an M3 when i get my Quest 3 but i want to know one thing first. Isn't it possible for the headset to slip off the strap because it doesn't click in ? Like if you spin arround is the headset gonna fly in a wall or is it really that good at holding it in place ?
They make the arms very tight to where you have to PULL to get the headset out of it.

Nice, I was hoping they would release a conversion kit. I have two bobo headstraps so I can upgrade mine for the new headset and pair the old one with the Quest 2 that I'm handing down to my mom... Might have to buy some extra batteries
I was still holding hope it might just work but the Quest 3 arms look to be much thicker. I'm impressed they're doing a low price conversion kit instead of just selling a bunch of whole new straps. Good for Bobo!
@jaybratt do you know if the partial light blockers from the Quest Pro will fit on the Quest 3?
They won't. It's a totally different design there. 3 has a normal full light blocker like the quest 2 had
@@jaybratt thanks for confirming that. I do hope someone makes a similar partial light blocker facial interface to use with a halo style strap like the Bobo VR, especially for mixed reality experiences.
I don’t have a Quest Pro but do know people who do and prefer the experience of using the partial light blockers over a full light blocking facial interface. They say it helps with VR sickness too.
@@benzo5232 some people use the bobo halo and just don't use the facial interface at all. You could try that and see what you think.
@@jaybratt Definitely, I’ll try that first. Do you have a Quest Pro? Have you tried using it with and without the partial light blockers? I’m guessing they help reduce glare on the lenses from external light sources.

Edit: Answered my own question. I took the facial interface off my Quest 2 with the bobo VR and holy crap.. it works. The comfort is crazy.
