Thanks mate, massive help on changing my Caliper today, even though it’s on a different car most of it’s the same. Anyone who’s methodical with a bit of mechanical experience can utilise this on other makes/models.

Thanks mate! I try to avoid doing brakes if I can, I just don't like working on them and I'm not sure why 😂
Haha I would've if I had time, literally had to get caliper swapped and bled as we were off away for the weekend, of course it was last minute as usual for me 😂

Nice straightforward procedure demonstrated, the same as I have done many times to many different cars myself.
I would, however, like to suggest that copper grease is not the correct medium to use on ANYTHING that moves. It is not a lubricant but an assembly compound for bolt threads (steel on steel) & it is also inadvisable to use it on aluminium threads with steel bolts as it can actually make the corrosion worse due to electrolytic reaction! I use a very similar grease based on aluminium for these circumstances. As you pointed out, proper brake grease is the correct stuff to use on the pad seatings.
I'm an 'Old School' customiser so I wouldn't have been able to resist painting the calipers red! Just saying.........

I totally agree, not the correct stuff to use, unfortunately at the time of doing this job I thought I had some sachets of brake grease in the shed but didn't hence settling for the copper grease. Preferable to putting the brakes back in "dry" but I agree, not suitable in the long term!
I am tempted to paint them a nice silver so they're clean and subtle as it's nothing special the car itself :)

@@Enginesetc - 🤘 I would have to say........ BUT IT IS!!. These 'older' C classes have a great 'classic' look that still sets them apart like the B7 Audi A4s (I've got one of them too).
Most 'modern' cars all look pretty much the same & can often only be identified by looking at the badges (& that includes new Mercedes cars). So I would be happy with your 'classic' car & treat it to a nice spruce up. That means Red Calipers.........

Oh yes I wasn't trying to discount it, I just meant it's not too sporty, which red calipers for some reason signify in my mind haha! I agree with your statement however, I dislike 99% of modern cars too!@@Boffin486

That isn't the way to bleed breaks, you pump the break pedal then tell the person to keep the pedal down they undo the nipple' then tight it up when the pedal is all the way to the floor

Either way works fella, doesn't matter either way I've always got a good pedal this way :)
