You can be proud of such a talented and gifted conductor who is also so beautiful and charming. The tempo and dynamic are terrific. Beethoven would love it.Ih Germany we only have one foreign minister who thinks she is great and charming. Greetings from Germany to Mexico.
To those criticizing her baton method, I know the conductor needs to beat the rhythm but they do not have to stand there and be a human metronome. Especially when you have such talented professionals as these. This has a lot of flair, I like it

Alondra de la Parra performs very well the opening and the rest of the piece, I think is the original that Beethoven would desire, it's 100% pure accordingly to the philosophical view of the 18th century, Hegel the more remarkable philosopher. So there is a parallel to Hegelian philosophy and Beethoven music, Beethoven's music represents the ideals of the enlightenment in a power and passionate way to express the human spirit in all its splendor, Hegel adored Napoleon as does Beethoven, who said "the world spirit on horseback", But Beethoven composed this memorial symphony to a great man because Napoleon His hero became an autocratic self-glorifying individual. In short, Symphony no.3 "Eroica"= a picture of the 18th century and the contemporary time only around 54 minutes
Thank you for posting this video. It is a wonderful interpretation of the Eroica. I know if Beethoven could hear how his music has held up for over 200 years, and how it is being presented today, he would be most impressed.
Wo ist der 3. Satz (Scherzo) hingekommen?? (= the 3rd movement is missing!) Bei 30:58 beginnt bereits der 4. Satz und bei 42:16 ist die Musik bereits zu Ende!
From my understanding it was probably cut from youtube after upload. The orchestra didn't play a symphony without a 3rd movement. If you see after the 2nd movement finishes, the conductor quickly proceeds to give the attack for the next, but the video instantly changes and orchestra starts later than expected. At this point also the audience's cough changes volume, which indicates that it's two different moments tied together. Also the description and a lot of comments give time stamps that make no sense, and almost nobody in the comments section mention this huge miss.
Arra conducted Beethoven No.3 so so so beautiful in juicy rhythm, tempo and articulation. I love this Beethoven. I think Eroica rhythm might be difficult for Asian, for some reason other. I'm Japanese old(89yrs.) I like Karajan Eroica, veryveryvery natural and juicy.
Alondra is the most beautiful conductor in the world, I am sure. But whether man or woman is not important. The key is her music interpretation. I am surprised her music has become more dynamic and deeper than several years ago. She is also now one of the best maestros in the world.
To my modesty this seems as a student's or a beginner's conducting. And I don't mean the lady's appearance (which I don't care about) but I just listen to music, to the way that music sounds and what it tells us. The orchestra is not well coordinated and the conception is without depth and refinement that "Eroica" requires.
Couldn't agree more - I wonder if the people who are praising this rendition in the comments have ears... they surely have no musical training whatsoever
She seems to have a hard time separating the two hands. She's either pulsing the tempo with both, or emoting with both.....but they should actually be independent of one another.
And I think her interpretation needs to find some more depth . It is coming out as a cheerful spring evening, whereas the inner core of the music is tragic in a forceful manner
It's a nice performance, very beautiful. The Tonhalle Orchestra knows this music as well as any and can likely play it just fine without any conductor.
She's a central dancer, just follows the orchestra. She is not conducting. Pay attention, musicians don't even look at her, they play well because they have good training. Her movements don't match the energy of the piece. After listening to Bruno Walter, Sergiu Celibidache, Jochum, Klemperer, this version is everything but an excellent one.
