I found this during the pandemic, can't believe how much I like to hear it in its entirety. Probably one of the best rock performances ever. Can't understand why this band is not considered a classic.
Don't listen to what Thunder is claiming about the "jealousy" part. This weird narrative has been spread since ages for now. Truth is Chris was originally the lead singer, it's his songs. Their label wanted a new, female singer at some point, they didn't want to, eventually when it was possible Chris wanted to sing his own songs again, so he did. Who can blame him. I don't know why ppl after over 20 yrs are still incapable of just enjoying the music and having to spam the comments below every SP video with this toxic drama. None of these ppl were around nor in the band but somehow all of them are "experts" in what allegedly went on. Anyway, I'm glad this brought u joy during the pandemic. 2 new SP albums are on the way. Chris has a voice kik an angel and has more talent in 1 finger than most. He is amazing. People should do their homework on him before posting anything negative about this amazing man. Love u Chris
The amount of people on the internet filing a complaint over them firing Keli is remarkable. They fired her because she cared way too much about everything but the music. If you're a working, touring, starving musician, you know exactly what the fuck I mean. I can't tell you how many fucking times I've played a gig with musicians who go up on stage fucking dripping head to toe flexing with the Marshall stack and the uninsured Gibson, that long-ass super technical pedal that looks like a big Juul with blue LED lights all over it. This expensive-ass rig for nothing. Then they go to play their music and it's absolutely soulless. Sans-Keli Sneaker Pimps is the hard work of musicians who would literally die for their craft. You have to have a sense of martyrdom for your music to lock yourself away in a studio for a year and subject yourself to that kind of mental torture. That being said, when you're a true musician, subjecting yourself to the mental torture of trying to constantly create and that it be remarkably good in your eyes, when you're a perfectionist, is actually much better than living everybody else's life and pretending to be content with it.
Y'all are poppin' off about shizzle that went down ages ago. Becoming X with Kelli was magic whether her voice was the "best" or not. It friggin' sounded really good at the time and in the moment and to this day. Band made their decisions and onward they went. Sans Kelli sounds like it sounds. The music speaks for itself, exceptional and mostly underrated and underappreciated.
I must be one of those unusual people that only really started liking SP when Chris started singing. Splinter and Bloodsport have never left my record rotation, new one looks like it's headed for the same spot.
This is my 20 something anthem album! I did so many drugs to this album! With a lot of regrets! It’s like bittersweet! I just loved being high listening to these fucking legends Not a song I don’t love!!! I’m near 40, but I always fall back!!! I wish I was this bad ass back in the day!!!
I think its easier if you listen to his albums in order. If I went from this to volatile times or after I'd agree, but you really hear him evolve through sp4, the alternative, and kingdom of welcome addiction. Its interesting, to me.

Great live performance. Laughing at the comments regarding Kelli Ali so many attacking Chris wrongly. Chris and Liam were producing as Line Of Flight before forming the Sneaker Pimps. All the lyrics were Chris' on the second album he wanted to sing his own songs which is fair enough. They were never gonna record a follow up that sounded like Becoming X. You can tell they had moved on stylistically don't get me wrong Becoming X was amazing and her voice on it brilliant. But it was never gonna last past one album.
While I do agree with most of what you said, I still think that, if they wanted, they could have used Kelli's talent on one or maybe two more projects and it would hold up great

Something must have gone badly wrong with Kelli and these guys. Tons of bands (Massive Attack, Air etc..) used female vocalists who contributed nothing but vocals, no-one was under any illusion about who the creative forces were. I can only assume it was a "shes gonna be a huge star and get all the credit when in fact its me" thang and to kick her out on those grounds seems kinda childish...
Kelli , imo, is a creative force in her own right, she is singing the song and putting her own unique creative emotion and style into it, and it shows in this concert because its definitely not here with these guys. SP would never heave been heard of without Kelli singing.
No, they kicked her out because they didn’t want to move on to pop direction. They cared for music, not for the fame. Corners voice is much better then Kelli’s, so their future albums were only better without her. They never needed her in the first place. People are upset only because Kelli’s pretty face is gone. When in fact, she had decent voice and made zero contributions to songs themselves. You can’t fucking compare Kelli to other classic female vocalists form the bands above because they had absolutely unique and incredible voices. He brings beauty, sex, imagination, and puts all he has into everything he does. Beautiful soul so glad he is on this earth the same time as me. Can't wait for his newest creation #IAMX6. +digitalassets Chris and Liam write/wrote all the music.. and although Kelii was cute.. she couldn't carry a tune. They had to Autotune her voice throughout the whole recording process. So yea.. artists with integrity have low thresholds for lack of 100% effort creatively. Kelli I believe had to learn on her own accord how to make it on her own merits.

Really liked their newest album Squaring The Circle. Nice mix of female guest lead vocals and Chris taking turns. Good album.
