  • This video shows how to connect a DeviceNet Master to a NJ controller. Setting up the connection in CX-Integrator. This video is to help users migrate their DNet system from a C-Series to the NJ controller. Take note of the parts as there are certain part compatibility to watch out for.

Brilliant video, thanks for sharing! Can you make video on EDS file for DeviceNet devices, and it's usage? Also, is the EDS file download to the actual device or just imported into the IX-configurator to setup a device? Would be great if you could make video on this entire process?

@Akshay Potdar, thanks for the input. I'm actually limited with hardware and budget 😅, once I get a non-Omron Dnet device, I'll do the video (looking at Christmas).
But to answer your question, you are to import (install) your EDS file to CX-Integrator. You can do that by going to opening your CX-Integrator Tools>EDS>Install. You can also "Create" if you have a product that needs to do so (some manufacturers require you to do it). Step is similar go to Tools>EDS>Create. From here a pop up window will appear, just type in the information (Vendor ID, Device ID, Product Code, etc.).
Manuals that can help you if you are going to work on a project having a NJ controller with a DRM21 master; W501 (jump to appendix A-9), W497(mostly the procedures are here to help the install; just watch for your method in allocation).
Hope that helps and thanks for watching!
