There's nothing like a cold pup cycle on a hot summer day for a dog.. My Yorkie used too love those things.. The best part they're all natural ingredients where humans can enjoy them too!

A year and a half ago my daughter and I rescued a senior German Shepherd, Choppy, from some monsters who kept him in a cage in their basement. We found out about him and spent weeks talking them into giving him to us.
He was so sick and in such bad shape. His back legs never fully recovered from all those years in the cage, and we just got him a wheelchair, which he's still getting used to.
He was so malnourished when we got him (about 30lbs underweight) that when we started feeding him regularly and giving him treats, he started to equate being fed with being loved, so, of course he was always asking for food. Because of this, we had to be very careful with what we fed him, and had to make sure that his treats were all nutritious and not just empty calories. We make his biscuits, and are always experimenting with new flavours. He also loves yams, so we dry slices in the oven for him. But his favourite treat is frozen yoghurt. We make small popsicles for him using the Greek yogurt, and put cut up fruit and sweet veggies (like carrots and yams) in it. Strangely, he won't just eat yogurt and fruit...it has to be frozen.
We don't know how much time we'll have with him, so we're trying to squeeze a lifetime's worth of love into that time.
