There is Pause Button but IT was only in offline Games . What makes Sense imo xD my Games Go Like 15 to 30 minutes . Like League of Legends or many other Games .some Games IT makes Sense that uncant Pause the Game for everyone . 5 Pause per 8 Player ffa? U know that the Pause could be longer than the Game
ha ha yeah, the devs have been polishing/improving the game since its (8 months too early imo) release, the amount of features it didn't have at the start was infuriating! Lack of Pause Button has been the last big missing feature for a while now, glad to see it's getting fixed at last.
This is the dumbest nerf yet to infantry reason why is because on aoe2 there's a reason why all civs cannot make knights in Feudal age because knights in Feudal will break the game on age2 because a level 1 pikeman can't physically deal damage to an age2 knight, now what we're bout to see on age4 is knight civs like French, JD & Mongol, Rus will jus end up dominating because they already get knights in Feudal and since they are nerfing infantry, pike man might end up not doing any decent damage vs knights and archer will jus butcher them with the extra buffs they got as well
that cav archer access is a sacrifice for the extra military school vizier point tho, i dont think it needs to be nerfed. That is unless..... you pick imperial academy for castle which for this amount of choice might be worth it
I get the idea behind Elite Army tactics, as that tech should now make your melee infantry much better at stopping cavalry. To support your melee units you deploy mangonels to counter ranged units and the enemy will in turn attempt to stop you by using springalds on your melee units. It flips a few things around, but I am generally glad that university gets more situational technologies, I just wish they weren't so expensive. I think they should double down on the university design and add dozens of reasonably priced technologies for situational use. The idea would be that you wouldn't want to research them all, as that would become too expensive and you wouldn't be able to make proper use of all of them. Instead it should more be an answer to what your opponent is doing, or something to pad your existing strategy. For example: +4 melee armor for your melee infantry alone could be a response tech to combat an enemy spamming knights, so your spearmen becomes stronger in that scenario only.

@@Ferienpapst In all honesty I think the changes are shit. The game is probably going to be on the worst place it's ever been. Nothing about the updates make much sense. They just needed to do tweaks and balances to unit types and siege in general. Cav should have just had a buff to damage Vs Siege and Siege to take up more pop space and be very slightly more effective against it's counterparts. Mangonel Vs Range. Culverin vs other siege and armoured infantry. The changes will be a bit too heavy on the game style enough to actually ruin the game imo
@@FamilieAltmann When I deploy spearmen, you deploy archers, but I will respond with cavalry who also got a few buffs and your response will be spearmen too, so spearmen are not in a bad shape. However, I think Men-at-arms will be seen much less now, since food gathering got nerfed and Elite army tactics no longer grant them more health to sustain crossbowmen. But spearmen are still solid after this patch.
@@theoriginalteeqz6878 There is a reconnect feature in aoe4 if your internet disconnects for a short time. What people want is reconnect feature if the game crashes, and most RTS games never have this, because it's very hard to make.
@@theoriginalteeqz6878 Reconnect kinda exists but its current implementation retries for around 45 seconds and if that fails it no longer retries and there is no way to retry again so you basically auto lose when that happens
Cavalry archer has less DPS per resource than the camel archer. With mehter attack speed buff the cavalry archer is slightly better. This is against armoured units. Against non armoured units the cavalry archer has equal DPS per res to the camel archer without the mehter buff. Against spearman the camel archer wins decisively due to the bonus dmg
Posting a comment I made on Drongo’s video because I’m curious to know what you guys think: This seems like a massive nerf to MaA. So many new counters to melee infantry (especially siege), handcannoneers are even more effective vs. melee and better at kiting, archers can chip them down from very far away, and Elite Army Tactics is much worse than it was before (higher health would help them tank more ranged damage and close the distance, but this increase in melee armor doesn’t help them at all in that respect). Landschneckt seem like they would really suck now also. Sad, I really liked how AoE4 was different (and better designed imo) than AoE2 in how melee infantry and MaA especially were actually a valuable unit into the late game and civs could legitimately build their strategies around melee infantry. This is a massive nerf to HRE, OOTD, and Japan. Late game AoE4 will just look like AoE2 now - massive archer balls, cavalry, and siege spam.
This is exactly why I'm dreading this patch, MaA is one of my favorite units and the fun infantry plays is a big reason why I prefer 4 over 2. I genuinely loved the concept of MaA as a beefy unit that can buy you some time and protect your weaker units for a while. Now they might be no reason to make them at all, since you need siege if you want to take out your opponent's base and castles anyways and archers are also good against buildings now. And we're back to boring old cavalry and archer play from AoE 2.
I didnt realize it, but remember that the support team is working so maybe they take a step back on the next patch if this doesnt work, I think they are finally listen the community
fun fact campaign missions do not get patched... so the changes will not effect us silver league scrubs playing story missions I recently played threw and the ger/Mongol buildings not being able to be replaced when unpacked at supply cap DROVE ME NUTS
the biology change is a buff to OOTD since their knights have the biggest HP so the % increase is worth more, OOTD infantry on the other hand is nerfed as they have taken out the Elite Army tactics % health increase
Not necessarily. Sure, their units have more hp so % increases will be a bigger number of them, but while OOTD will get more extra hp per knight, other civs will have twice as many knights to enjoy the increase, which should equal in 9/10 situations.

Finally, AoE 4 has MP pause like even AoE 1 had at release. Looks like they added Atacama as a nod to AoE 2. Similar map layout with the difference that the forest in the middle has passage ways. Lake Side looks a lot like AoE 2's Bay. Really like the trajectory changes, I always hated how arrows travelled in the same unnatural arc when units are close. Springalds are now basically like AoE 2's Scorpion, minus minimum range.
i agree. i think it should be 5 seconds. i think it should just be 2 pause,one for 90 seconds and one for 30 seconds. and if it is a team match. limit to 1 pause 45 seconds. If i get paused more than 2 times during a match, its gonna start to get annoying. idk im just brainstorming but 5 pauses a bit too much
I am still afraid that Great Bombards with janissaries will be hard to counter with Calvary in noobie leagues for team games. But it looks like bit less annoying.
@@HouseVinstor for equal cost, you can make far more archers than GBs can kill, especially with 10-20 archery ranges. Janissaries are countered by Archer damage.
Do I read ottoman villager speed wrong or is twitch chat. 50% increased speed is only 3*0.5 increased production per minute. So for 4 minutes 6 villagers per TC

NO WAY, they finally fixed the goddamn arrows. My god they heard my prayers!!! Well, still looks meh though, arrow model is garbage and too big. God, this Essence Engine from Relic can't handle projectiles at all. *sigh* Homing projectiles in such a game is just so stupid as well. Even the super old AoM Retold engine can do this 1000% better. Still happy for every improvement.
Vortix switching to stormgate because no aoe4 tournaments and best siege counter is siege. Bunch of aoe4 tournaments gets released. Siege rework. Stormgate active playerbase falls through floor. Poor vortix.
Pause should be fewer in number and should all have an actual timer of 1 or so , otherwise it is just useless to have the feature if it can instabtly be unpause even with 5 "charges"

I don't play PvP, I'm eternally dwarfed by the people who only play it. but if you pause the game it pauses for all players. and that's a good thing why? is the mind-blown reaction simply next-level sarcasm? what is this amazing tech on display? also, hitting pause on the entire rhythm of an online match ... and people WANT this? a match can last what, an hour? maybe a little more if its tense? and each player gets 5 30 second pauses ... this could be the most game-killing, rage-causing game feature of all time. for me if I'm in it, I'm IN it. so someone could attack me, catch me on the hot defensive, pause the game five times and catch me less attentive in two and a half minutes or so. the psychological advantages of being able to do that could be intense. it changes everything. and not for the better. I don't see the advantages, but like I said - I don't do PvP. so I really don't know much about this. I like Skirmish and that's all. be well! glad you're happy!
Sometimes real life just happens and you need to pause instead of leaving the game. About the trolling, i've never had anyone troll with the pause feature in Age of Empires II
It is a riddle to me why they are buffing cavalry so much. Did some dev had a hard time against Samurai spam, English MAA's or HRE? Cavalry is about to be even more mandatory in this game than it already is.
Don't like how the pause works - I'd much rather have one pause per game which takes 2-3 minutes so I can answer the door or whatever and then play out the game instead of 1x 30 seconds where I can't do anything except drink a sip of water and then have pauses be useless for the rest of the game. Let's be real here, who's gonna keep pause on even after explanation in chat? It's a free win.
Ottoman is maybe the second weakest civ with a huuuge win rate difference. How should it get nerfed even though this update will just nerf it anyway? Janissaries are useless now. You have to wait the whole game to put out ANY kind of soldier. I don't get why cav archers should get nerfed while other civs can put out KNIGHTS before i can put out a dude with a wooden bow on a steppe horse
Why did the buff french?!? Now its so op and it was already tricky to kill 50 knights running into your base burning everything…the highest playeramount is in low league and we already see that so many times..now it even gets worse with the knight spam. This sucks so much It gets even worse the more you are listening to. Melee units (maa) will be absolutely useless. HRE dying

so now ottoman is unbeatable. early game sipahi with cav archers. they are already better horseman, and could have them free. now add up cav archers so your spears are joke now. in late game they got jannisary with greatbombard. it used to be maa at the frontline with counter siege in back to take out greatbombard. now maa is stuck in castle age and jannisary melt all cav, how we suppose to kill greatbombard. they are now unkillable, no way to counter those great bombard.

BTW ottoman are one of those dont scare of tower rush: if you tower the gold line, they could have trade network and stay inside forever with passive gold, if you tower food source, they could go twin madressa for infinity food. and easily have free spears for any situation. in a same level of skill, ottoman is consider as one of un tower rushable civ.

You want a no timer one for friendly games that can be unpaused by anyone. I do think it should be 1 min though 30 seconds is nothing.

Sometimes real life just happens and you need to pause instead of leaving the game. About the trolling, i've never had anyone troll with the pause feature in Age of Empires II

They quite literally changed the game
It is a riddle to me why they are buffing cavalry so much. Did some dev had a hard time against Samurai spam, English MAA's or HRE? Cavalry is about to be even more mandatory in this game than it already is.
Don't like how the pause works - I'd much rather have one pause per game which takes 2-3 minutes so I can answer the door or whatever and then play out the game instead of 1x 30 seconds where I can't do anything except drink a sip of water and then have pauses be useless for the rest of the game. Let's be real here, who's gonna keep pause on even after explanation in chat? It's a free win.
Ottoman is maybe the second weakest civ with a huuuge win rate difference. How should it get nerfed even though this update will just nerf it anyway? Janissaries are useless now. You have to wait the whole game to put out ANY kind of soldier. I don't get why cav archers should get nerfed while other civs can put out KNIGHTS before i can put out a dude with a wooden bow on a steppe horse

Why does anyone want a 30 second pause? It's not long enough to use the restroom. Only purpose i can think of is taking a sip of your drink.
That’s just the timer before the other person can unpause, you can leave the game paused longer.

Why did the buff french?!? Now its so op and it was already tricky to kill 50 knights running into your base burning everything…the highest playeramount is in low league and we already see that so many times..now it even gets worse with the knight spam. This sucks so much
It gets even worse the more you are listening to. Melee units (maa) will be absolutely useless. HRE dying

@@p1lgr1m23well usually it‘s the cav civ that‘s putting pressure on you (French/JD) and 50 was just a random number to underline the huge burf with biology and chivalry
@@JaviA777 Of course, but they are expensive, so if you bug them a bit they won't make as many. You can try Ayyubids or Abbasid to use the camels against the French.
French have been the worst civ for almost a year. These changes won't make them op, they still have The same counters

early game sipahi with cav archers.
they are already better horseman, and could have them free.
now add up cav archers so your spears are joke now.
in late game they got jannisary with greatbombard.
it used to be maa at the frontline with counter siege in back to take out greatbombard.
now maa is stuck in castle age and jannisary melt all cav, how we suppose to kill greatbombard.
they are now unkillable, no way to counter those great bombard.

BTW ottoman are one of those dont scare of tower rush:
if you tower the gold line, they could have trade network and stay inside forever with passive gold, if you tower food source, they could go twin madressa for infinity food.
and easily have free spears for any situation. in a same level of skill, ottoman is consider as one of un tower rushable civ.
