The heavy breathing during the bridge and at the end. The still managed to give us stability and vocals while dancing their asses off. They are on second generation level talent.

I don't think people realize how hard that is to be "out of breath" from dancing your ass off and then having to sing when it's basically silent (bridge). That is some strong control right there

@SailorB - as @WR3K Andrew Willis points out live and studio are entirely different things. Live is always so immediate. When I started playing all you did was play live - rehearsal 1st then shows. Recording was later. and that was always an adjustment. Now I'm on the other end of things and I rarely play live anymore (even before the pandemic) and mostly record. It's a different energy but you still try to find that live energy when you are recording. Ideally the live version should be something different than the studio, tho' I have seen bands that can do on stage exactly what they did in the studio (tho' for me that kind of misses the point).
Dreamcatcher's team are all geniuses. Composers, stylists, choreographers, lyricists; GENIUSES. And now, add to that list whichever genius/es are responsible for the live band arrangements!!

Even Red Velvet sell about 150 000 copies of each albums and EPs they put out. So if Dreamcatcher albums continue to sell this much with each releases, this makes them some of the greatest girl groups in terms of sales. Their singles might not do well on the korean charts and they might not have a first win, but as of right now they are one of the most well established, respected and successful girl groups in Kpop. They are for sure in the Top 10 most successful girl groups of the 3rd Gen.*

2:57 can we PLEASE appreciate JiU’s stable vocals here? She just sang this whole ass verse without a breath after a dance break and she sounded so amazing. I feel like she doesn’t get noticed enough for her voice because it’s not as full or deep as the other members but she is incredibly stable.
True, tbh she always amazes me and her and Handong's voices are my favorite in the whole group, lol
I love how each member's voice is unique. I'm not sure how to put it but jiu's voice have a wind chime quality to it? it's elegant yet refreshing and sweet. English isn't my first language and I know nothing about music, so please excuse me if I don't make sense lol
but really, dreamcatcher has one-of-a-kind voices in all the members and how they complement each other. I'm so amazed by them and so glad I get to know their music.

I feel like new insomnias don't know most of the positions, but she's actually a second lead vocalist with Yooh. As far as HFE is concerned she's the third best singer in the group (line distributions reflect that as well, although those may have more to do with her also being leader/center/face/etc.) and probably could be main vocal in a group without deukae's insane vocal talent pool. So I don't know if maybe new insomnias (e.g. almost all of them, since the fandom is like 10x bigger than it was 2 years ago) are underappreciating Minji's vocals but the company and older fans certainly don't.

I don't think she really improves much from doing a lot of takes and picking the best one, so you'd expect her live vocals to be recording quality. It really speaks to her consistency in the post-holding-this-pain era

The instruments sounds setup is more suitable for wind blows rather than odd eye, i think odd eye is more suitable with a heavier, darker guitar tone and synth, this band instruments sounds is pretty light for odd eye, maybe that's why i prefer wind blows over odd eye with this band sounds from this channel. Anyway thank you to the band for accompanying the girls.
The problem wasn’t the band’s playing it was the mixing. The audio engineer didn’t know how to properly mix for this kind of genre, that’s why Odd Eye sounded so light.

@@sidharthshivanandha5741 & @MusiKyle Productions - I noted on a comment elsewhere that using headset mics instead of handheld changes the dynamics of the vocals. So true about mixing live, but that's not the standard for K-Pop is it...live vocals over a backing track is one thing, but adding in a full band with the vocals in another thing entirely!

Okay but like. I'm honestly not surprised they managed to pull off singing live so beautifully even with how difficult the choreography is because these are the same girls who debut with one of their hardest title tracks to date even after three years has passed and they've made about nine comebacks since.
Seeing how stable their vocals are amidst the intense choreography and how similar it is to the released version, it is certain that they almost never lipsync, or it's really NEVER. I love how they enjoy and value their songs and performances.
If I had to name groups whose concert tickets were worth buying, they'd be on the list!
