- Busy day off! If you know me you know I LOVE to fish! Somehow after fishing Maine my whole life I have never fished for stripers! Guess I’m to much of a sucker for brookies! Brookies still have my heart! But I’m going striper fishing again! Soon!! Also got to take the underwater (Fifish Evo)drone out for a quick dive on a ledge that I grew up fishing! Cool to see it with our own eyes! Even cooler to fight a lobster for a pogey!! 😂
Most wholesome TH-cam channel ever. Say what you want about the internet but for sure it has given us quite a bit on the positive side.
"excuse the sinking boat" is something I say all the time! I moved away a couple years ago, but was born and raised a Mainah'. Thank you for putting such emphasis on Maine's sustainable fishing methods for lobster. May you find some more eggers!

Unfortunately they are full of PCB's not advised to eat more than once a month and if you plan on getting pregnant don't eat for a year. It's more a sport fish the population had dwindled to nothing but with conservation and about 30 years the numbers have greatly improved ❤

I had to use my belt changing oil filter when I used to work in the coal mines. I'm really enjoying your videos I wish my grandfather was alive to watch you guys .
Your anchor story reminds me of my own "anchor" story. My grandfather took me and my cousins and dad fishing in Wyoming and we were short on one pole. Well it was my turn so my grandfather told me where to cast. He said "there's the perfect fish right there, put it right there" so I cast right where he was pointing and crap I'm snagged on a stick...or so I thought. So I reel her in and sure as shit I'd caught myself a fishing pole and it was not only my size (I think I was probably 7) but it was a left handed reel in perfect condition. It sure was the perfect fish. My dad has the pole to this day. We told that story over and over for years. My grandpa is now passed and I treasure that memory so. Thanks for the opportunity to tell it one more time. My last name literally means Fisher Man. One who fishes. The men in my family have fish camp every year up towards the San Juan Islands near Canada and catch so much salmon and whatever else is in season. Opposite ends of the country but share the same stories and family traditions. Just awesome!! Cheers 🍻!!

Jacob I'm from Kent , England and I'm a keen basser,I fish for sea bass alot and I can't believe how similar a fresh water stripey and a shore caught sea bass really are ,I bet the fight comparison from the two species would be an interesting match to find out 😉🤘

Its crazy how many lobsters you see with that drone. They are everywhere! Nice stripers too. I have yet to catch one. I try about once a year when we go to maine. We've got some good brookies over here in Vermont....well, we did they may have washed down river with all the rain and flooding! Thanks for sharing.

Striper fishing is very addictive. I started surf casting. Within a few months I bought my first boat which was a game changer. Few years later I felt I needed a bigger better boat 😂 Got a great deal on a Grady White 22’ Seafarer. Great fishing boat

Fished the Long Island Sound (Connecticut shore) as a kid -- mostly going for stripers and bluefish. When he was about 12 my brother caught a 44 lb. striper that was as long as he was tall. My dad caught a 17.5 lb. bluefish on 12 lb. test and had a record for a few months! They are incredible both fish to catch - both are top of the food chain beasts. New England has some of the best fishing in the world bar none!

Great catch! Those striper were good looking fish! The striper are the state fish for my home state of SC. They have a huge festival and fishing tournament every year. I think the current weight record is 58 or 59 pounds.
Oh my. I.miss living near the ocean.
I mean yes I can fresh water fish here in michigan but it's just not the same as ocean fish.
Even tho I didn't fish often I used to chat with the old guys who sat on the pier all night fishing and I often did some trading with them for fresh fish to bring home.
Occasionally I would bring a small charcoal grill down and fresh ingredients and cooked for them.
I lost my granddad while I lived in florida and hanging with the old fellas fishing kinda helped the pain.
They loved testing my new recipes for grilled fish lol. Most times they were catch and release cuz their wives didn't wanna cook "another darn fish" lol.
Our favorite tended to be citrus marinated grilled fish with fresh salsa on tortillas. And cole slaw. They love coleslaw. Lol

Caught my first striper by accident walleye fishing, wasn’t big but they’re fun. That reel bit was hilarious, had a cousin that used to reel like that… we don’t speak anymore.

Striper fishing is probably my favorite kind of fishing behind going for red drum. And speckled trout.
Im a waterman down south of you in southern MD off the cheaapeake bay and people live for spring and fall striper season. Im licensed to use pound nets and rockfish is a major money maker for me during the lull. Also best tasting fish hands down.
with as many lobsters as a person seen in a short period of time, those regulatory guidelines for the lobster appears to be working out well...

Jacob we have hybrid stripers around here. Some of them get big. And wow that was the yellowest john deere engine I've seen😮😮😅😅😅😅😅.
