    I never tire of your layout Lewis. I liked this video a lot as it's showing some simple operations going on with intermittent passenger working. I do that on mine - shuffle wagons around and then think "it's time for a DMU!" 😁

The goods movements in between the regular passenger service ever looks so real. Excellent work, great filming and splendid editing with the sound spot on. It must take you a lot of work but the result is amazing ! I have a big space to scenic now. It's almost 1,5 square meters within the loop.The station is in place and the platforms operational. I need help from you !!!

    You had shiny Mallard running in one episode. It wouldn't hurt to add a second pristine steamy, surely. If you are tempted, don't resist. Hinton Manor would fit in nicely with your 1960s era. She was clean for most of her BR career, and is still clean to this day.

    Hi Lewis. Superb as always. I've studied your videos closely over the last few months and I can't work out which is my favourite part of your layout. Is it the superb scenery?, or perhaps the superbly weathered locomotives and rolling stock. It must be how the whole lot blends together. There are a lot of good videos on TH-cam, but yours is the only one that gets a consistent 10 out of 10 from me. Hope you are keeping well and safe. Superb as always. Chris.

    ¡Hola buenos días Lewis! Nicely put together scenario. So often, the videos on some sites, only tend to show rakes of ‘same’ wagons being trained along main lines. Something a little more interesting this morning though - great presentation. It was also good to see that both your mainline and local services were able to feature as well. Un Salud. Gary

      @@MouldyRaspberry Well there's a lot involved: visit steam railways, record a variety of locos making sure of good matches eg two cylinder prototypes for two cylinder models, passing, accelerating, braking, goods or passenger and fitting movements on your railway to the sounds you have... all done very precisely. I recon each vid takes at least an hour to make not including your travelling time. You are dealing with a lot of variables!

    Excellent as ever, the J15 is just one of those got to have locos regardless as to whether it's remotely needed . One small suggestion, at Ponden there should be a signal on the platform near the end, close to the water column. This is in addition to the one at the tunnel entrance

      Thanks - agreed! I’ve just given mine a makeover with some red coupling rods as well. Ah thanks for pointing that out, my knowledge of signalling is woefully lacking!

      Thanks Eric, it’s great! No problem, I’ll email you a photo. I’ve filmed the construction of it, and will include it on a layout update I’m currently editing with links, credit to you etc. I haven’t quite finished it yet as I still have the advertising boards to do. All brilliant. Thanks again.

      Thanks. I'll also send you an update on my first OO scale kit project : the goods shed in Wivenhoe, near Colchester (ex-LNER I think) that I hope to have available at the end of the summer if the situation allows it, as here we have a prolongation of the confinment till early to mid may... more info later by email.

    Never always appreciated the standards back in the sixties, you was always hoping for Bullied Pacific at the head of the trains. Another nice vid Lewis, many thanks, keep well.

      I guess that’s often the way - it’s only after they’ve gone that you fully appreciate them! Thanks very much, appreciate it 👍🏻

      Yes. The Standards have somehow grown to look better with age unlike motor cars from the same period which look very old fashioned. Bulleids still look good too... especially the rebuilds

    Yet another great one! The thought occurs to me that this level of frequency would defeat some of the preserved railways, and you use a single track - I can see you'll be laying double track throughout soon!

    just out of curiosity, how come at the end the loco didn't just keep the brake van coupled when moving the last few trucks from the siding? was it common practice to leave it in a separate siding?

    • @MouldyRaspberry
      @MouldyRaspberry  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think they’d have just kept it attached to minimise the stock movements to be honest. I must have just overlooked that and created extra work for everyone!
