I visited Acoma in the early 90s..on a very hot day! Our tour guide was an Indian girl with one arm, she was the sweetest. Many spirits live there, just absolutely a beautiful feeling. We climbed down the Mesa just as they did years ago, what an experience. Go where the eagle flys ,,the winds dances and the moon you can touch.
I knew this in the early 40s of the last century, when it was still as Ansel Adams had photographed it. My dad, a builder in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, was a friend of the priest at Acoma. The family had an amazing collection of Acoma pottery. I remember the giddy climb to the top and the layout of everything. What a childhood memory. What can I say that others would understand?

Absolutely a unique place--timeless and so spiritually evocative!
some of the best pottery comes from Acoma. We were so reluctant to receive horse hair pottery from Acoma this year..quite a rarity.
I happy to hear that you enjoyed my native American culture, as I,myself, an from the Acoma Pueblo.
