I am installing a new Wiseco clutch basket on my YZ125 as it jumps/stalls when I engage 1st gear without using extra throttle. your video has helped me do it myself rather than giving it to my local bike shop who's owner is to to customer service and general attitude what Darth Vader is to galactic peace! Especially useful mentioning the socket sizes needed - and guys you will definitely need an impact for that clutch basket - That 27 mm nut - we had 3 of us on working on it and couldn't move the damn thing - impact is on its way.
I've never lubed the cables, I've only been riding for a about half a year and I'm learning as I go along. So thanks for the info on that :) The bike was in storage for about a year before I bought it too, so I'm guessing that's the prob if it needs to be lubed often. what should I use for lube, grease, wd40?
Awesome series Johnny! Keep up the good work... I hope to be as knowledgeable as you someday. I am 16 and I learn everything I know from myself, never had anyone to really show me anything. I have a few dirt bikes and I mess around and do what I can. How did you learn all this stuff? Did you have official education or did someone you know teach you? Thanks again for the videos, looking forward to future videos!
hey im trying to tackle the shift shaft. what size is that nut holding the basket in? and how do i unbend that folded washer? i have a 1999 so i hope its that same. thanks in advance! love your videos
I know what the basket is right the outter peice with the grooves in , But what do you call the inner one he took out first? Or is that part of the basket?
1 question: Im planning on getting a klx110 but im a pretty heavy guy. I saw on a site a iShock m4a1 shock(not sure if your familiar) and I was wondering if I get that for the back, what would I have to get for the front suspension. And if not the iShock what else is a possible solution to stiffen up the suspension. Thanks!!!
hi, i need to replace my kick axle assembly on my yz 125 and therefor need to remove the right crank case cover, i was wondering if i have to remove the clutch cover and disassemble the clutch and then take the crank case cover off or can i just leave the clutch intact and just remove the right crank case cover. let me know thanks in advance Connor
Great vids, wich have been a big help! How does one remove the push lever axle (push rod) from the clutch cove? I want to replace the seal. Thanks in advance.
+tyresmoke Thanks for watching! On this particular bike, you just remove that screw right below it and it slides up. You'll need to take the cover off regardless.
Hey John. Would you remember what the question was to this answer of yours? The msg has been deleted. I could only assume this person had the same problem as I, where my bike would get stuck in a gear and would only get out of it after a few healthy kicks. Could that be caused by the grooves in the basket ? thx
I got the plates out with an impact gun but the inner basket bolt wont budge just keeps spinning. Do you think I can remove the clutch side engine cover with out removing the basket? mine is 05 motor very slight differences with the clutch.
hi my gearshifter wont engage in any gears, i have taken all the discs out of the clutch basket and am up to the big nut, what size socket is it ??? so i can go buy one, or is there a way to get it off with a shifter wrench ????
Hey I got a 98 yz125, and the clutch lever is kinda hard to pull in. It shifts great and I've never had a problem with the gears slipping or anything, but I want the clutch to be 2 finger easy to pull in. What do you think I'd have to do to make it easier to pull in?
Hi I need to replace my power valve push rod assembly do I need to take the clutch out in order to remove the part of the case that gives u access to the push rod?
I have a pe 175 and that little piece with the gears is really bothering me I took the the clutch off and rebuilt it but now the little piece won't engage the clutch I pull the clutch lever but the back weel is still locked
I have a question I'm new to working on motors on my own at least and I have Yz 125 1994 and my shifter shaft needs to comes out.. Is this the easiest way to get to it?
IMPORTANT: hey johnny i was going to just send you a pm like normally, but stupid google changed everything and i cant even find my inbox, long story short, i put a new clutch in and it doesnt work. the plates all sick together and rise when the pressure plate is lifted when i pull the clutch in, i put my old clutch back in to make sure it wasnt just my new clutch and sure thing the old clutch did the same, ive put in around 5 clutches and never had this problem, please help, thanks! trent.
After he removes the 27mm bolt that thing he takes out is that called the centre boss? I broke it while trying to remove the nut fucken asshole that I am

Thanks for watching! They make a tool to hold the basket so you don't need an impact but I don't own the tool or use it. Good luck!
Thanks johnnysshop good vid as always, and got your bullitin, keep posting your projects.
Thanks! I was wondering how to get the basket out cause I don’t have a holding tool but I have an impact

well i was thinking while i was replacing the clutch basket i might of bumped the shift shaft out of place? that could be the problem.
@Kyle Patterson You need to bend the tabs with a screwdriver.
Thanks for this series, you saved my bikes life
d34thztorm Thanks for watching, glad I could help!

My yz125 2000 is coming out of gear and slipping every once in a while what do you think is rong. Becuase sometimes it slips and sometimes it doesn't.

I have this yz125 and it wont go out of nutreal, i put a new clutch basket in it, and after that it wouldnt go out of neutral help?
when putting the clutch cover back on how much do i tighten them?
Hi, I know this was posted forever ago but what are you using to hold the sockets on that impact?
www.homedepot.com/p/Milwaukee-1-4-in-x-1-2-in-Steel-Square-Socket-Adapter-48-32-5032/202562859
So even using the impact the nut wouldn’t come off the basket. It would just spin. Help?
They make a special basket tool.
I replaced my clutch in a yz 125 and the clutch lever is real easy to pull what could be wrong?
how do u fix a sripted kick starter?

My 2002 wr250f has a washer behind the nut inside the clutch basket I have the tab flattened out do I need to remove it first if so how
Nolan Sharp Yes, have to flatten the tabs down with a screwdriver or something similar first.
Okay, thanks!
I have a question I'm new to working on motors on my own at least and I have Yz 125 1994 and my shifter shaft needs to comes out.. Is this the easiest way to get to it?
