I have the softest spot for CoD Ghosts, it’s mechanically flawed to all hell, has some terrible writing and is overall completely nonsensical, but the concept is so outlandish I can’t help but to be endlessly endeared by it, the middle east became a radioactive hellscape due to an nuclear exchange? South America unified into a hyper competent military, economical and political powerhouse? A kinetic bombardment platform in space? A group of skull masks wearing edgelords doing GI Joe style bullshit around the globe? It’s juvenile, it’s completely incoherent to how geopolitically south america and the rest of the world operates but it’s absolutely FASCINATING, I wanna know more about The Federation, how does their political process work, how’s their military organized, how do individual countries wage their own influence in order to get what they want, what was the process of unification (that is slightly hinted at intel you can find around missions). Hell I want to know how the US works after the Odin attack and being blasted by their own kinetic platform, how is the day to day life in the united states for the average civilian, did the political process change, how is the military organized, is there still an economy and trade with other nations, what do the areas controlled by The Federation look like, what was Nato’s response, if any, what is Europe and the rest of the world doing, it’s genuinely such an interesting setting. Also they, deliberately or not, portray the Federation as a hyper competent empire, they are literally able to sneak up on the US space platform without any trouble and successfully expanded as far as Mexico, sure a lot of it it’s done for the sake of pacing, gameplay flow and presented with villainous intent, but it’s a far more flattering portrayal than people give it credit for, you don’t build an empire out of just oil money, you have to know how to apply it well and having South America reaching this sci fi level of development is at bare minimum a unique concept. (I’m also Brazilian so it’s a nice “what if?” scenario even if we are the bad guys). Another thing is just how fun and varied the campaign is to actually play through, the set pieces are genuinely engaging, visually varied and change up the pacing and gameplay in interesting ways, fighting through a city that’s on the process of being flooded, fighting underwater using shipwrecks for cover, avoiding submarine sonar pulses, making your way through a moving suspended train jumping from cart to cart, infiltrating a building by rappelling down and getting in and out of floors doing different tasks while the backdrop of fireworks at night illuminate the environment, fighting in space while accounting for inertia and being far more difficult to control your movements. Another thing is just how visually varied it is, CoD gets a lot of shit for being a brown military shooter but Ghosts has some gorgeous environments, The Andes, The Atacama Deserts, The Mexican Jungles, The Brazilian coastal reef, a destroyed and nature retaken Western Coast of the United States, the south american regions close to the Arctic, SPACE. Honestly, I liked this game a LOT. Yeah, there were some parts of it I didn't like, Rourke surviving essentially a foot wide ballistic tremor in his chest and swimming all the way up to the surface that took people younger and less wounded than him excessive effort to do, the melee in the multiplayer being basically a 180 homing attack that misses only if you have the golden knife that removes the animation (which is said to be an upgrade but clearly isn't), but there's a TON more that I do like. All the weapons felt great and viable, the perk system was unique but allowed you to get CRAZY with the combinations, and the story aside from the "surprise" end was just the right amount of bonkers action and stealthy espionage out of generic action/spy movies, and I think that it worked in it's favor. The end battle was a great finale with all the rapid switching between characters and gameplay styles and was a great way to cap everything off. AND THEN THE ENDING HAPPE- sorry, I'm just super annoyed by how unbelievable it is even by Ghosts standards and how they've never continued it in ANY regard, not even any characters or anything to lead up to another one.
To be honest, Ghosts is good, I love it with my heart, it was definitely one of those games that got hated on launch but when people look back at it, they only have fond memories of it. I'm heavily biased but I loved a ton of OG CODs, grew up on them.
I like the campaign for Ghost, it's just the ending that gives me an iffy feeling since he got shot in the chest through and through and still managed to halt the bleeding, swim back to shore quietly, and muster enough strength to drag a 150-200 pound guy to his death
I loved the events that happened in some of the multiplayer maps, Strikezone was so fun when the KEM strike hit and changed the entire map. The castle map was fun with the gate and walls you can blow up. The ghost version of shipment was extremely fun when you got slot machine and would temporarily add modifiers like gas and sentries to the arena. I prefer Ghosts just because of how fun it was and you could tell that the devs were literally just messing around.
My brothers like the Rainy Library, the Tank Factory, and the colliding Skyscrapers. My favorite is Warhawks and Chasm. I think Chasm is the one in California where the impact zone is. I like Warhawks because of all the FEMA Equipment like the banners and posters. It looks it takes place when the war just started.
You summed up everything that many MISS OUT ON ! 🎉 1. KEM strike - awesome 2. Modifiers after field objectives- awesome 3. Ground shaking/GAS leak blindness- awesome 4. Riley barking/biting- awesome 5. Freight/Strike zone search and destroy - awesome
I feel like the ending is what ruins it. It would have been fine if Rorke died, and you just ended there but they just had to go for the worst possible sequel bait lmao
Cod ghosts is honestly my favorite because of me and my dad playing it when I was little. I remember staying up with my dad and being so happy when we got to be Riley. And I love when Riley gets to sit down next to you in the game it’s so cute and I just love the memories of showing off cod ghosts to all my friends (about two years after release) I was around 5 when I first played it.
Of course the one CoD game that features my country (Venezuela), which we never visit im games, is also the one that's so hated that it never got a sequel. Oh well, that's life.
@sabine.1316 Have you SEEN the Caracas shown in Ghosts?. I WISH that city looked half as beautiful and modern. Maybe the Venezuela in Ghosts is one where the country's vast resources were actually put to good use.
@@sombraelerizo Maybe the Federation of the Amercias cracked down hard on socialist and other communist ideologies, and while being a dictatorship, they did want to better their member nations with the vast resources they had.
Ghosts has a special place in my heart one of the few cod games where I actually bought the DLC. Plus the character customisation was actually good unlike cods today. Loved the little interactives you could find in multiplayer that could change the balance of the map. I also loved the weapons and shit. I didn't and still don't understand the hate for it. I know people said the time to kill was too quick but come to 2024 it's the exact same if not worse and yet people don't bat an eye. Great game!
All I remember about this game is the promotions talking about the dog and trying to tell everyone it's a squad member and "This is someone you care about." Not to (possibly) spoil anything, but I 100% assumed it died in an extremely dramatic scene saving the life of the player at some point. Multiple explosions, lots of shouting, slow-motion, the whole deal.
I can forgive the hyping of the dog character since they were really excited about adding Riley after meeting a real, trained army dog and interviewing his handler. What I found amusing was how they made it seem like this is the first time a game ever had a dog as a companion to the protagonist that helps during gameplay. Dead to Rights, Haunting Ground, Fallout, a brief moment in Resident Evil 4, and a few other games already did this before Ghosts, so it might have been a first for CoD, but gamers already saw this before.
Me and my brothers love Call Of Duty Ghosts. The Campaign is unique, the Multiplayer is awesome, Extinction is cool. I like the Warhawk map with all the FEMA stuff. Extinction is pretty spooky. I also liked all the crazy stuff in Multiplayer. There were Blizzard Monsters, Pirate Ghosts, The Predator, Michael Myers, and more!
it was mostly due to the really poor servers and netcode, and a few really bad multiplayer maps, it came out right after Black Ops 2, so it had to compete with how well that game had done before it. I remember SPECIFICALLY that stupid castle map with the large open field and then a castle tower in the other side of the map, if a sniper was in that tower, and no one could get around to him, anyone spawning in the field side of the map was screwed immediately upon spawn.
bc mp was so bad, the maps were horrible, the ttk was trash, it played slow, the perk system was trash, and the dumbass map events well you guessed it sucked
It followed black ops 2, literally the best cod still to date. It was always going to feel ‘worse’ but I think people hated the TTK of ghosts multiplayer.
This is actually one of my favorite games in the series. It actually tried a few new things and I like how the campaign did its own thing and had fun with the story. Ethan the robot was one of my favorite modern characters in infinite warfare but Riley is the best boy ever. The guy who voices their father was the villain in the first avatar movie and he played a blind sick villain in don't breath
I personally like how broad the Federation is. In my head, they were a cartel out of the Amazon, but they came across a valuable trade route and formed some criminal empire. Over the years, they slowly take each country in South America with money and power. After a while, the US saw what was happening and tried to stop it, but it was too late. Most of South America was under their control and heavily militarized. They were transitioning into the first war spoken about in Ghosts. (The one their dad fought in.)
I absolutely loved the space scenes, but they were also unnerving, especially the one in the beginning. Knowing that there's nothing you can do as you re-enter the atmosphere is horrifying
Unpopular opinion but I loved the zombie replacement so much! I had top solo score temporarily at times and had top 50 overall score on leader boards for 360 for about a year.
Ghosts campaign went so hard! Very different, fun take on how the world looks from the point of how South America rules the world, really cool family dynamic between Logan, Hesh and Elias, great guns, Riley being the best boy and Rorke being an unhinged maniac
My favourite parts: “Rorke just comes out of the water *chuckles* that would be terryfying. *Rorke shows up*” and “THEY MADE THE DOG CRY ELIMINATE THEM ALL!!”
They could've just had you play as the dog, but no, they made it so that you sync up with the dog and psychically communicate where to go and when to strike. I guess that is something a ghost would do, so fair enough.
Considering that Call of Duty USED to satisfy people Singleplayer & Multiplayer modes, I think their complaints are completely valid Also that ending STINKS!
@zaneheaston8254 did it, I think the mistake that was made is assuming Call of Duty could tell a story that spanned multiple games without having asspull tenuous connections and really making a sequel was a bit too much for the average CoD player. That instant gratification didn't hit at the end of the campaign so it caught a ton of hate. Heck I don't even get why black ops 2 is so cherished. It doesn't even particularly stand out to me campaign or multi-player as far a CoD goes. Yet it's the most fiercely defended and loved title even if not the best selling.
It's most likely timing. The average CoD player around the time Ghosts launched were children and people who played CoD multiplayer and literally nothing else. They were more likely to want the story to be self contained and not have to rely on a sequel to see it end, so that ending made them revolt. Also around this time was when there was a lot of contention about games like CoD having campaigns that can be beat in 4-6 hours, including cutscenes, because the devs made them as an afterthought to the multiplayer mode, and Ghosts is a 6-hour game. People are coming around to it now that time has passed and they can view it on its own terms without the lens of the gaming climate at the time, and it helps that the children who played it at this time are now adults who look back at it nostalgically.
i didnt have alot of games to play back then, but this was one of them. i had HOURS of time in this game from the Extinction mode (underrated af) and there was a survival mode that you could do on any map. game gets alot of hate but when its all you had it was the best game out there at the time
I Love Riley in Call of Duty Ghosts, I Just found out a Few days Ago about How Much Care That the Dev Team Gave Riley. (i just Realized that The Name Riley could be used for a Boy and a Girl, That's a Two for One Deal! JACKPOOOOOOOOT, so that's how i Got Confused and Thought Riley was a She Until Now.)
All right I'm going to say it If those of you that think this is a bad call of duty you have no taste This is actually a very good one and honestly the haters need to just play more games before they have the right to judge a good game 🤣
When i was younger this was my favourite and first cod in ps3, and until this day i still love it! Maybe tye multiplayer wasnt good but the campaing was gold, im still waiting the sequel
I love call of duty ghosts It's campaign is one of the best iv ever played. Also dude, aliens is awesome, you gotta get into it and understand it, just like zombies, you gotta get into it and understand it to really get past the maps. And unlike zombies, the aliens maps can be beaten, and it's awesome, if you got the dlc's be4 the Xbox 360 store got shut down, you could get some of the coolest aliens maps ever, while I do admit some of them feel a little clunky, they are also awesome to play
This game was overhated in my opinion, even with all its many flaws. The story is just one of the best in the franchise and it's sad to end on such a dramatic cliffhanger with almost no hope of a sequel.
I loved this game when I first played it, was never too hard at any one section and had a hell of a good story up until the main bad guy somehow took a stab to the shoulder and a bullet to the chest and didn’t die of either exhaustion from trying to swim to land, bleeding out, or suffocating underwater. He very much should’ve died like any other main villain of those older cod’s but they thought they’d be able to have a sequel by having him be superhuman.
Honestly my favourite Cod. These Kids who only want the Multiplayer SH*T is the reason it's the "most hated cod" Online multiplayers used to be an addition, not THE WHOLE GAME. now it's the whole game, and I'm never buying another COD again.
they shouldve made an underwater online map, like where you swim everywhere instead of on a terrestrial plain. it wouldve been intresting..... doesnt everyone agree?
The fact they added the dog, Riley, in the new MW II and III reboots, is really nice. It makes us feel like there would be a Ghosts 2, unfortunately, not so. go riley
Ghost was the last casual cod, as someone that is now into squads, arma, and hell let loose. Cod ghosts was in my eyes a banger, it has that gritty feel and didn’t have crazy movement, I enjoyed the feel of the weapons and designs of the factions and characters. I really like the setting of dark and gritty and I think ghosts does it well, I feel cod is now very flashy and has too much going on. I hope one day they come back to, I’ve given up on modern warfare and black ops series
That flooding mission was probably my personal favorite it was just so hectic when I was playing it back then I was young so seeing that was sick sucks that cod doesn’t make these types of campaigns anymore

To be fair, the man really was built different.
8 years later after playing the game and im still waiting on a sequel
1. KEM strike - awesome
2. Modifiers after field objectives- awesome
3. Ground shaking/GAS leak blindness- awesome
4. Riley barking/biting- awesome
5. Freight/Strike zone search and destroy - awesome
I would give anything to have Kevduit play the Black Ops 3 campaign and try to comprehend the absolutely insane plot
train go boom.
Don’t your legs get ripped off by a robot in the start of that games campaign?
@@Bastionofpain-ue8um yep. It’s brutal
Result? train go boom..
just my opinion, ghosts campaign will go down as top 3 fav campaigns for me. heavy nostalgia and never understood the hate it got. It was different.
It was cool in concept but terrible in execution
,your profile looks like Riley
The hate was how it gets left with “oooOoOoooO tHe CyClE cOnTiNuEs oOoooOooo”
Same I thought it was good
I feel like the ending is what ruins it.
DUDE, with all the things that’s going on el mamaguevo de maduro it’s trying to turn Venezuela into the actual federation lol
ALSO FREE VENEZUELA:D
@sabine.1316 Have you SEEN the Caracas shown in Ghosts?. I WISH that city looked half as beautiful and modern.
Maybe the Venezuela in Ghosts is one where the country's vast resources were actually put to good use.
@@sombraelerizo
Maybe the Federation of the Amercias cracked down hard on socialist and other communist ideologies, and while being a dictatorship, they did want to better their member nations with the vast resources they had.
You could always go old school and blow up Caracas in Mercenaries 2
Love the sass you gave the npc’s! Great video as always
Great game!
It was the follow up to black ops 2. It had a lot riding on it and couldn’t live up to the hype. Plus codtubers didn’t help with support
All I remember about this game is the promotions talking about the dog and trying to tell everyone it's a squad member and "This is someone you care about."
Not to (possibly) spoil anything, but I 100% assumed it died in an extremely dramatic scene saving the life of the player at some point.
The dog lived.
I still can't believe that CoD: Ghosts got so much hate seeing how the game wasn't even that bad.
it was mostly due to the really poor servers and netcode, and a few really bad multiplayer maps, it came out right after Black Ops 2, so it had to compete with how well that game had done before it.
Oh God, the maps were so bad. @@The_Queen_Chrysalis
It followed black ops 2, literally the best cod still to date. It was always going to feel ‘worse’ but I think people hated the TTK of ghosts multiplayer.
Came at a bad time in COD’s history. Nothing innovative, and to this day people are still tired of the COD formula…
This is still one of the biggest cliffhangers in COD campaign history I need to know wtf happens after I NEED GHOST 2!!!!
As much fun as that would be, whatever you envision in your head would be infinitely better than what would actually get made lol
I gave up on that and just went to fanfction.
We need that,maybe in 2026
“I got Left Behind. Nicholas Cage is about to show up.”
That’s the best laugh I’ve had in a while.
Cryptid hunting was dope af though. The progression system in that is chef's kiss
I absolutely loved the space scenes, but they were also unnerving, especially the one in the beginning. Knowing that there's nothing you can do as you re-enter the atmosphere is horrifying
I have the CD and I still play it and it's a lot of fun I like it a lot idk how people hate on this
BCS ppl compare it to god tier COD games, if we all did that the gaming industry would be dead tbh
Cod ghosts could have been a lot better, yes, but same as could been a hell alot worse
@@opticloki4750 agreed
@@opticloki4750 its really a decent or even good when its not compared to god tier games
I love to see what the second game is gonna be like I hope they don't make a shit game
I absolutely love this game, it's my second favorite other than modern warfare 3. Ghosts had the best weapons at the time for me.
You and me both bro. Great taste. Love the MGRR pfp
i love ur pfp
Yours is interesting
kev "live live live live"
"he will be fine"
keegan "hes gone"
kev "oh"
also kev "THEY MADE THE PUPPY CRY KILL THEM ALL"
Unpopular opinion but I loved the zombie replacement so much! I had top solo score temporarily at times and had top 50 overall score on leader boards for 360 for about a year.
LOL "but it doesn't matter cause FOV didn't exist in 2013" priceless right out the gate. also 7:30 is that a 'fugget about it' joke? nice.
Ghosts was always my favourite I never knew why it was hated until this video
I liked Extinction, me and my friend would always play it at my house when he would come over to hang out. It was fun.
Ghosts campaign went so hard! Very different, fun take on how the world looks from the point of how South America rules the world, really cool family dynamic between Logan, Hesh and Elias, great guns, Riley being the best boy and Rorke being an unhinged maniac
cod ghosts extinction was f*ckin heat and you can't tell me otherwise
Otherwise. There I said it and proved you wrong. But in all seriousness Extinction was and is amazing.
@@demiurge7117 goddamn you got me
My favourite parts: “Rorke just comes out of the water *chuckles* that would be terryfying. *Rorke shows up*” and “THEY MADE THE DOG CRY ELIMINATE THEM ALL!!”
The campaign and the mode where you squad up against aliens instead of zombies were do good 👌
Other than the classic Black Ops 2, This was one of my favorite COD games ever
Kev got so fed up with the ai in that carrying Riley mission XD
We need a sequel
They could've just had you play as the dog, but no, they made it so that you sync up with the dog and psychically communicate where to go and when to strike. I guess that is something a ghost would do, so fair enough.
4:06 Optimus simply began to believe 😢
When Call of Duty games get “Hated” for no reason because they focusing on Multiplayer instead of Story Mode
Considering that Call of Duty USED to satisfy people Singleplayer & Multiplayer modes, I think their complaints are completely valid
Also that ending STINKS!
Yet it's the most fiercely defended and loved title even if not the best selling.
they really focused on those ieds and the 2 shot ttk
@@invisalats841brother it had like 5 endings and every mission was quality that's why
People are coming around to it now that time has passed and they can view it on its own terms without the lens of the gaming climate at the time, and it helps that the children who played it at this time are now adults who look back at it nostalgically.
the ending to ghosts was a great cliffhanger imo and i was disappointed we never saw the conclusion
Nicholas Cage Left Behind joke? Always coming in clutch with the esoteric jokes 😂
i didnt have alot of games to play back then, but this was one of them. i had HOURS of time in this game from the Extinction mode (underrated af) and there was a survival mode that you could do on any map. game gets alot of hate but when its all you had it was the best game out there at the time
I Love Riley in Call of Duty Ghosts, I Just found out a Few days Ago about How Much Care That the Dev Team Gave Riley. (i just Realized that The Name Riley could be used for a Boy and a Girl, That's a Two for One Deal! JACKPOOOOOOOOT, so that's how i Got Confused and Thought Riley was a She Until Now.)
and also Hesh and Keegan are Up there Too
7:53 I legit thought this was Kevduit playing the person and quickly crawling up to the enemy like a scene from a horror movie.
All right I'm going to say it If those of you that think this is a bad call of duty you have no taste This is actually a very good one and honestly the haters need to just play more games before they have the right to judge a good game 🤣
Facts the multiplayer is kinda mid but the story is good and I'm speaking from personal experience because I beat this game 4 times
When i was younger this was my favourite and first cod in ps3, and until this day i still love it! Maybe tye multiplayer wasnt good but the campaing was gold, im still waiting the sequel
Remember seeing it on my cousins xbox randomly and I decided to play it . Definitely not as bad as people make it seem to be
man, i really likes ghost, 3rd favorite after bo1 and mw3
I love call of duty ghosts
It's campaign is one of the best iv ever played.
51:10 Maxis blowing up Earth😂 IYKYK
The gun sounds are why i enjoyed Ghosts so much
43:38 Peter Griffin 😮😮
Always love when you visit games that were supposedly hated and have fun in them, would love to see you play bioshock infinite that game is underrated
4:45 Thats Riley!
Honestly my favourite Cod.
These Kids who only want the Multiplayer SH*T is the reason it's the "most hated cod"
Online multiplayers used to be an addition, not THE WHOLE GAME.
now it's the whole game, and I'm never buying another COD again.
they shouldve made an underwater online map, like where you swim everywhere instead of on a terrestrial plain. it wouldve been intresting..... doesnt everyone agree?
Ghost has a very good campain very underrated
Sorry my dog odin accidentally blew up the west coast
I mean this is way better to the cod we get now days
Fun fact: Logan was the youngest cod player character until mw2019
I love the game don't know what everyone has against it I mean it ain't the best but still it's really cool and makes allot of fun
Kev’s commentary is the best.
naah don't disrespect extinction like that neversoft cooked with that mode
This was friggin unbelievably funny - you sir are a scholar and a gentleman. Great job :')
Isn't the most Hated Call Of Duty whichever one is the newest modern COD to come out?
That man said “if our bodies are 95% water, then why can’t we breathe it?!” 😂😂😂
Grab Riley let's go
2:17 when you die to lazer from slace because you watched a guy tokyo drift his truck 😂😂😂 lmfao me tooooo
Extinction was and still is the best 3rd mode
The fact they added the dog, Riley, in the new MW II and III reboots, is really nice. It makes us feel like there would be a Ghosts 2, unfortunately, not so.
go riley
Ghosts wasn't the most hated cod game that goes to infinite warfare 😂
It was hated enough to not get a sequel smh
Ghost was the last casual cod, as someone that is now into squads, arma, and hell let loose. Cod ghosts was in my eyes a banger, it has that gritty feel and didn’t have crazy movement, I enjoyed the feel of the weapons and designs of the factions and characters. I really like the setting of dark and gritty and I think ghosts does it well, I feel cod is now very flashy and has too much going on. I hope one day they come back to, I’ve given up on modern warfare and black ops series
The worst thing about this game... there is no Ghost 2
That flooding mission was probably my personal favorite it was just so hectic when I was playing it back then I was young so seeing that was sick sucks that cod doesn’t make these types of campaigns anymore
Ghost was so overhated, I loved it the whole time while playing it.
It wasn't overheated it was perfectly hated. The Campaign sucked. Multiplayer was god awful. Extinction was unique but it got boring after a few times.
Yo same!

Ghosts is not the most hated COD - it's garbage but not as bad as many recent ones.
I loved CoD Ghosts. It had the most exotic arsenal in the series. The multiplayer bots, the introduction of character customization, the drill instructor announcer. God, good times.
Day 13 of asking you to come back to metal gear rising
Day number 420 of wondering why people think they can browbeat their fav parasocial "relationship" into playing a game.
My first CoD ever. I got it with my PS3 gratis. Way overhated and I love the intro to this day
Why was it most hated?
The campaign is amazing
The multiplayer is really good
The extinction was awesome also lackluster zombie replacement? Bro it was completely different idea wat 💀
Amazing video
the ford commercial joke got me😭😭😂😂
Was ahead of its time. Not for guns but for maps
Loved the alien mode in this game
Legend has it that they are still yelling "get Riley" to this very day.
3:16 for a second there I thought Kev was gonna say "they hit the 2nd tower" 😭
