    Just as an fyi, the Kosas shadows are quite nice for mature eyes when you just can’t do as much sparkle anymore. But I do absolutely get what you’re saying.

    I love the Kosas deodorant! I can sweat a lot, and it works so much better for me than other deodorants, and it doesn’t stain my clothes. I do want to try the Kosas concealer.

    I just LOVE Kosas foundation❤️ I’m 55 this month and it leaves my skin looking amazing… ALL day long!! Have you tried Lisa Eldridge’s new foundation? It is a fuller coverage (but that is an easy remedy if you use a smaller amount)product, but it’s so blurring and it is self setting so I don’t need to add powder which is a plus for me because with my fine lines powder tends to settle in them over time. If you haven’t tried her line I highly recommend it… she also has some beautiful liquid shadows that I think you’ll love! Now she is on the pricier side… but, I feel it’s worth every penny ❤

    Someone loves the bronzer…. It’s me!! The middle shade used sparingly is perfect for me. It was the first bronzer on my light olive skin tone I ever found that made me understand why people liked bronzer! (It’s S tier for me and if they reformulated I would cry!)
    OTOH…I loved the concealer but it went bad on me so quickly. Heartbreaking. I couldn’t even finish my first tube. It is the reason I’ve never tried the foundation.
    Edited to add: I ADORE that you can purchase (for very little money) sample cards to swatch shades of their products. I wish every cosmetic company did that.

    Yes the clear lip oil (Jellyfish) is much more thick/gel like than Dip! So much more hydrating and it sticks around for a while. I used a whole one up and I think I'm gonna repurchase it during a sale 👀

  • @ShanrellsStash

    The concealer has grown on me! I like it most when applied with a sponge. I also like the lip oil, specifically the shade Jellyfish.

    The concealer just doesn’t work on me, I don’t know if I’m applying it wrong but if I put any kind of moisturiser underneath and blend it with fingers it just pills up and looks super awkward. I agree on the powder being good but not amazing, I think it’s a bit overhyped. I love the cream blush duos and the lip gloss, I have it in the shade jaws and it’s my favourite red gloss. Definitely wanna get more shades.

    • @glamfern
      @glamfern 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I feel the same way about the concealer, except it doesn’t really pill, it just looks super patchy and uneven on me. It settles into the finest microscopical lines and emphasizes them, it’s so odd. I’ve never had that happen to any other concealer.

  • @ojaigirl

    I completely agree about the powder (shade airy) under the eyes. It creases and just doesn’t work, but I love it over the rest of my face, and I picked up two a shade about 2 shades darker and use it as a bronzer and it’s beautiful too. That’s my number one Kosas tip; pick up a darker shade of the powder to use as a bronzer because the original bronzers lean very 🍊!!! Nothing beats the CT pressed powder under my eyes as well. 😊

    Hi Amanda! I would love to see a brand review on MAC! I feel like MAC is very underrated for no good reason and I recently discovered their Glow Play blushes which are INSANE!!! And I instantly thought of you because I know how much you love cream products - would love to see your favorites from MAC 🥰🙏🏻

    • @mizshellytee
      @mizshellytee 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Late 2000s and early 2010s Beautytube in general was much more all over MAC than they are now. I think it's a lot to do with there being a lot more brands being more accessible to more people and, in some cases, those brands making (subjectively) better products than MAC. (They also tend not to reformulate or overhaul their permanent product line too often.) So it's been kinda forgotten over the years.

    kosas has been such a rollercoaster brand for me, lol. i purchased the concealer, powder, bronzer, and eyebrow gels at the same time last year. and then one of the liquid eyeshadows came in a set i purchased this year.
    at first, i loved the powder & bronzer & eyebrow gels, and didn’t like the concealer. the eyeshadow i feel indifferent about, i like it enough to keep it because i’m also a one and done eyeshadow lover & i don’t think it’s as bad as a lot of people have gone on about at youtube. it’s just different as you said, more of a liquid to powder and not that much shine or dimension.
    but now… i loved the concealer after i had it a month or so (as if it wasn’t as good when it was fresh?) & it went from being my least favorite in my small stash to one of my favorites. and the bronzer went so far down i disposed of it. it was lovely for my fair skin & round face (bronzer is one of my least favorite products, i like to just have 1-3 in different formulations and finishes), but it hard panned SO FAST. i would scrape it, i would do the tape technique, every single time, and it would be hard panned again the next time i used it absolutely nothing would pick up or show up. i hope they reformulate it too.
    the powder i’m indifferent about as well because i don’t use powder that much that i don’t have strong feelings about it’s performance.
    but the concealer and eyebrow gels are phenomenal. i’d really like to see them redo the packaging of the crème blushes and highlighters, because i always thought the shade & tones looked right up my alley, but the black and white packaging feels so out of date, cosmetic basic compared to what they’ve done for packaging the last two years.

    • @hannahsonnenburg7718
      @hannahsonnenburg7718 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you apply the concealer? I bought it two years ago to try it and didn’t like it and just purchased it again and had the same experience: it pills on me horribly! If I use any kind of moisturiser (without silicones!) under it, it just pills and looks awful. I so wanna make it work though (also name twins yay)

    • @aprileaton9025

      @@hannahsonnenburg7718 name twin! sorry for the late response. i haven’t had any trouble with pilling, but i do apply quite a lot of product under my eyes? my dark circles are horrific (genetic), so i use eye cream & then i almost always have a color corrector/primer underneath it to help counter my purple/blue under eyes. so maybe because i have quite a bit of base? and then i use a sponge. i use either a beauty blender or i had some sephora collection sponges & things went well with both of them. i purchased the new kosas sponge but haven’t used it yet, i wait till my current ones are done for to change them out.

    • @tiahnarodriguez3809
      @tiahnarodriguez3809 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Would you say the clear lip oil is hydrating, and how long does it last on the lips? I tried the merit clear lip oil and found it to be very drying and not long lasting, unlike their colored lip oils, so I’m looking for a better option.

    • @yveyve7115
      @yveyve7115 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tiahnarodriguez3809 I put the clear lip oil on to prep my lips before I start the application of my makeup. I find it moisturizing and I add my lipstick on top then head to work. I don't find it long lasting. I do find that Fitglow's Night Lip Serum does a better job. I use the clear one any time of the day. Hope this helps.

    Interesting to get your perspective. 😎
    It’s curious how we have opposite opinions regarding the concealer & cloud set. State everything you said about them, and think the opposite. Those are my experiences. I’ll never touch the concealer again, and because the foundations has most of the same ingredients, I won’t touch it either. The only difference is that cloud set is A for me, and the concealer is an F. All of the cream products, mascara, lip products, are F’s for me as well. Cosmetics are so very YMMV. It’s a bummer, really.
    Thanks for the post!

    This was fun! I purchased the Kosas foundation on your recommendation, and it's only the second foundation in 15-20 years that I've liked and used consistently, so thank you! Have you tried the Kosas Sport LipFuel lip balms? I've repurchased all three tinted ones multiple, multiple times. I love a good tinted balm or sheer lipstick, and these don't try out my lips and are easy to put on without a mirror. Love them, but would be curious what you'd think!

      Do u by any chance use a brush for your application? Usually if a brush is used it’s best to use less and build up. IMO it’s best to use a sponge cuz it adds that bit of hydration to a foundation. It’s also worth noting that she doesn’t really use powder unless she needs too. I’d recommend the kosas powder if u do use one

    • @AmandaZ
      @AmandaZ  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Totally possible it might not be for you! But I highly recommend using it with a dry sponge- my preferred method! A dewy mist underneath and one layer pressed on top looks perfect on me! I hope this helps!

      It could be not hydrating the skin enough before applying or using too much product? And as others said if you use a brush that can cause foundation to look heavy especially if you use too much product.

    • @lynnwhite1053
      @lynnwhite1053 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I use my fingers to apply this foundation, and as the others have already stated, less is definitely the best policy here. You can always add product to areas you might want more coverage on, but it’s hard to take away if you start with too much😉❤️ and as far as powder… I only apply in my T zone and VERY minimal amount. I use Givenchy Prism Libre (don’t know if I spelled that correctly😂) powder in light and it’s barely detectable❤❤

    It is interesting how makeup is subjective. Many people like that bronzer. I believe the smell can be a turn off to some. People with dry skin seem to like the texture. I didn’t purchase the bronzer due to the scent. I bought the concealer and love effectiveness. I hate the scent. It is a mixture of perfume and paint. It had a scent from day one.

    The only way I've found to camouflage the hollows under my eyes is to just place a brightening concealer in the hollow. I don't blend it out across the skin I basically draw a line in the hollow and tap it in place. I hope that makes sense. It's bringing out the hollowed area and makes it look flat. I also do this in my marionette lines.
