I think tamilians and kannadigas are the most passionate about their language. Keralites are mostly proud about malayali community/land. There is a poem in Malayalam by vallathol "Bharatham ennu kettal abhimana puritham akanam antharangam, Keralam ennu kettalo thilackanam chora namukku njarampukalil." which roughly translates as When we hear the word Bharath/India we should feel proud but when we hear the word Kerala our blood should boil in our veins.
Actually we scattered all around the world proudly saying " we are malayali from India"

Hindi is not anyones native language, all hindi speakers have their own language. Hindi is relatively a new language which was adopted by the north indians to understand eachother. They gave up their language for Hindi, but we love our language. We have our own identity. And we were the first to inhabit the country even before aryans, we have Dravidian languages and cultures. Tamil is the oldest language not Sanskrit. Malayalam is created from both Tamil and Malayalam. We don't need hindi.

North politicians trying to impose Hindi to south states as compulsory language and every state is against it. All south states languages are classical language unlike Hindi which is a mix of 5 language. Yet current Govt. tried many times to impose Hindi on to south. And Tamil people are the biggest opposition on that regard, they are very emotional on language topic, for them Tamil language is a religion.
Actually politicians everywhere are same, Indians were long divided before independence and even after Independence, we were divided by politicians to keep us apart but things have definitely changed now. I am a Hindi speaking Northie (my South Indian friends call me this😂) but I love everthing from South India (movies, food, culture, and most of all people). Now that we can watch movies on OTT with subtitles, I have also picked up some words and sentences from Tamil and Malayalam and I wish I had learned them as a child. For too long, we have been kept apart by politicins, I think its time to unite.

Nope.. Kerala is one place which is open to all languages (including Hindi).. People are not protective/flaunting as such.. This is a backlash against the right wing's Hindi imposition agenda.. On the other hand, Tamil Nadu is generally very protective about Tamil.
