Nigel Farage: Voters 'beginning to put two fingers up' to PM - BBC News

  • UKIP leader Nigel Farage has said voters are beginning to "put two fingers up" to the political class because they do not like being "threatened" about the potential damage Brexit could cause to the UK.
    Speaking to Andrew Marr, he said that if Leave suffers a narrow defeat, the chances of another referendum would be "pretty slim" as he also dismissed the possibility of public unrest in the event of such an outcome.

      The Le Pen and the French National Front agree with Farage, the far right German party AFD agree with Farage, Trump agrees with Farage, Steve Bannon agrees with Farage, Matteo Salvini, leader of Italy’s extreme-right League party agrees with Farage etc.. Talks are underway about forming an alliance with certain far right parties when the Brexit party clears up tomorrow. My grandfathers fought in WW2 to rid Europe of fascism and it saddens me to see it rising again. I know why people are voting for the Brexit party I understand the frustration, but I don't think people realise what is coming.

      I would have when i was in high school too. But leave is filled with lies, look for the facts. The EU's own website is a great start, it has their whole budget published, where it's money goes and a great list of "Euro lies". Farage and his populist friends are excellent speakers, but look for his policy and at his ego. When Marr asks him about his views he gets angry and begins bragging about his rallies rather than answering, he's a poor politician, he just knows how to make a speech and avoid/spin the difficult questions.

However failing to address the bigger overall issue of the strain on the NHS due to migrants looking to solely come to the UK in order to benefit from this countries wonderful healthcare system. Some people, watching this might feel there was a degree of bias in Andrew's interview technique but please dont worry because the BBC is always 100% impartial....... You Can't Barrage The Farage!

      We already have the power, just like any other EU country, to not allow non-Britains to abuse our healthcare system. If you don't believe me, look up German healthcare law for residents. If you move to the UK without the means to support yourself you can be deported. Leaving the EU won't help the NHS, in fact Nigel Farage has stated he thinks it should be privatised, so what's his real motivation for using HIV patients as reasons for his Brexit?

    • @purplemonkeyelephant
      @purplemonkeyelephant 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @J A Hennessy Well, no country in the world can stop people overstaying on a tourist visa. You could fly to America tomorrow and just never fly home. How on earth would leaving the EU fix that?
      And if you disagree with my points, maybe provide some evidence. I have sources for all my claims if you want them. My point is that we have all the powers we need to fix the problems you talk about already, we just don't enact them. Don't just believe me, look it up.
      Also, have you ever looked at the paperwork for requesting benefits? The first things they'll ask for is ID, National Insurance etc. You don't just wander in and get free cash. If you don't have these documents you could either be committing fraud, or be an illegal immigrant. Do you really think our welfare service just throws cash at criminals?

    • @purplemonkeyelephant
      @purplemonkeyelephant 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @J A Hennessy Well, assuming what you're saying is true (evidence required) one motivation for doing that might be applying for asylum. They might think that having no documents will trick the UK into believing a false story, however fraudulent asylum claims will get you two years in prison and deportation. This up to UK Immigration to determine, and if you think the UK Border Force just roll out a red carpet for people who simply just got rid of all their documents, well, that's a bit insulting to the people that train for years for the role to weed out the truth.
      Regardless, this has got nothing to do with the EU, as if they have no documents then they can't claim anything an EU citizen would, so how is this relevant to Brexit?

    • @purplemonkeyelephant
      @purplemonkeyelephant 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @J A Hennessy Ok, please explain the legal process that someone without any documents would go through to get benefits if they've just washed up on the beach as you say. How would one go about it? Ask your partner if you're not sure, very interested to know.

Only yesterday both Mick Lynch and Eddy Dempsey articulated that position in a way that agrees with my understanding of Britain. What has happened a bunch of spivs and chancers hijacked that position for a right wing agenda and saw it as a get- rich- quick scheme. All the EU countries are still suffering. My biggest fault was not realising that, at the end of the day, Farage is just a Tory, without much of a vision for this country.

      @@MrResearcher122He is a right-wing, wealth accruing at any cost, carpet bagger! But I disagree with the Lexiteers as well, there was never going to be a Brexit dividend to spend on the Red Wall, NHS (for every £ we put in the economic multiplier effect on GDP was at least £5 if not nearer to £10) or education, only a reduction in trade, investment and a run on the £, all of which has or is happening! The UK’s membership was entirely financially advantageous, though largely squandered by Toryism. What they want and still are angling for is a de-regulatory re-set to a Singapore on the Thames economy, where the 1% the Rees Moggs still get to offshore loot and evade tax, the middle squeezed (as is happening) and the poor have even more brutish and short exitances. Brexit is a toxic effect on the UK’s prosperity and future! We are heading for Sick Man of Europe again via 70’s Stagflation.
