    This is why I can't understand how anyone can live in a huge city. Concrete and buildings are not for me. I loved this video. Idaho has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Mindboggling how beautiful some parts of this planet are. Idaho is very special. I pray that all the ppl from California don't ruin it.

      Most of the people fleeing Cali . Are the right kind of people. Me for instance . Moving there from AZ in June . Hope the people are as nice as they are here..✌️

    Worked on the Cobalt District trail crew for two seasons. The Crags are magical.

    When you finished editing, did you really think, "bagpipe music was the perfect song choice"?

    Great video fellas! I hiked into Ship Island Lake about 15 years ago and the views were amazing!!

      We didn't have the time to hike down to Ship Island, but we could see part of it from the mountain above Airplane Lake. It looked amazing!

      Awesome country and a loong hike in! We even saw a few bighorns in there.

    You are probably right. I never saw any floating but that's not to say they didn't die later on. We ate a few that couldnt recover. Most of us had nets to make for healthy releases. Nets are not easy to pack, but very necessary.

      If your lures have treble hooks replace them with single barbless. And wet your hands before handling a fish, if you must...

    My God! That's a monster pack! The hike would be easier if you'd lighten your load a little.

    Nice trip! But, one of your group needs to learn proper fish handling techniques if the fish is going to survive being thrown back. Don't take the trout out of the water if it's going to be released and don't grab the fish by the entire body. That one fish I saw being thrown back most likely didn't survive.

      Selfish people don't give a damn about preserving a fishery for the next guy. Thank goodness that places like this are hard to get to otherwise guys like this would kill it in no time.

    Great views. I'm planning a trip there this summer. What lakes were in this video?

    • @benk9105
      @benk9105  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Cathedral Lake, Big Clear basin lakes, Airplane and Sheepeater, Birdbill, Gentian, and the Terrace Lakes. It was the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. Enjoy it and please take care of it.

      Did you ever make the trip?

      Thanks for asking. Yes, we made the trip last summer and it was excellent. The fishing was amazing and the scenery was even better. Having gone there, I recognize some of your locations now. We went in mid July and there was still snow covering the north slope going down from Fish Fin Ridge to the northern section of the Crags. We had a couple of horses in our group so we opted to stay in the southern section including Welcome, Heart, and Terraced Lakes. It's a special place.

    How far of a hike was/is it back in there?

    • @benk9105
      @benk9105  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say it was about a 6 mile hike to get to the lakes from the trailhead. Very rugged terrain with a lot of elevation changes though.
