I think these Shack In A Box models are for convenience for those who can't or are not able to build their own go kit... also for those who simply don't want to invest the time. Check out their web site and see everything that goes into their boxes. I built my own because of two reasons: I had some of the equipment already to install into my go kit, and my go kit is also my home station, so I'll always know how it performs. 73 KD5YOU
I was literally on the website all week. They remind me of the military "stacks" we use for networking. I have a good idea for a Yasue /Icom ,do-it-all ,combo. I'm awaiting their reply email

They are expensive but when you add up all that's included, it's not as bad as it appears at first. An Icom 7300 alone is $1200 right now.
