Still laugh when he rings Max and Paddy and the phones displays 'Ironside'! Also genius having the late Jim Bowen in there (69 rooms on suit!). Great post😄
Jim Bowen as the other club owner.. Legend of Bullseye.. Used to work in Farnworth, in Bolton, it's just down the road from me.. My supervisor was the double of him.. Voice, looks, mannerisms.. everything
The 'Alan' on the flowers on the lamp post refers to a villain in a popular soap in Britain called 'Coronation Street' who met his end when he was run over by one of the trams you see in the background.
15:34 The music here is the theme for Minder, "I Could Be So Good for You" by the late Dennis Waterman. It's a series worth watching if you don't plan on seeing it but I would highly recommend it. ❤ 😊
So many great references to days gone by legends. Brad n Lucy will probs not know many of them so miss the joke....these two are great to watch though with their reaction.
I think you missed my favourite line from the bin bag song because you were laughing. Come and get your black bin bags, whatever is your gender. Come and get your black bin bags, bi or straight or bender.😂😂😂
So the guy at 13:14 is Jim Bowen (sporting a hilarious rug) who used to present a darts-based quiz show called 'Bullseye'. My Sunday afternoons as a kid were spent watching this guy.
My brother and his ex boyfriend worked with Peter Kay a fair bit, family is from Manchester. Alan from les Alanos we all know. And one of the stories in max and paddy is about my brothers ex boyfriend who got things… a bit wrong 🤣
Aww Blackpool, my home town. Got a lump in my throat when I saw the Tower. The guy playing Frank was Jim Bowen , lovely comic and host of the classic TV game show 321.
You should do that Peter Kay's thing series after phoenix nights as one of the episodes was the called in the club and it was like the pilot of it. But there's 5 other episodes in it the run, that introduce you to other characters. Plus i think at least two of the others they could have made or programs of like the ice cream man cometh. And the bingo hall one called eyes down there so funny.
Way to a Amarillo always makes me laugh when I hear it, when we were in our early 20s one Saturday night about 2a.m we were running out of skins and my mate who drove said he was too fucked off his pills to drive to the garage so for some unknown reason gave his car keys my other 2 mates who didn't have a license couldn't drive anyway and were just as fucked off pills lol 2 hours later they returned with no car and said they crashed when a fox ran into road. I found out tho they actually came off on a corner that, slightly turns and dips down they went up a banking cleared the fence and landed on its roof in a field coincidentally at the same time as the hands above head clapping part of the Amarillo song.
If you did any series 1 episodes after the first episode I couldn't find them, episode 1 wasn't that great but it gets better and you have to watch S01 E03 there's some absolute gold in that episode and one scene that's become a British meme.
Yes, some of them are on Dailymotion and Patreon due to copyright. Links are in the description. Also, check out Peter Kay's Playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PLug5SerrX4IjNnCna5Ici1BQgdT7LbSTH.html
@@bradlucy Yes, I always think that reactors move on to other things and don't return to stuff that I want them to react to. I was spoilt with the first two episodes of 'TGP' being shown in quick succession, but it's been a long time, since. I enjoy the other stuff you have reacted to, while I wait😐
The flowers are in memory of Alan Bradley, a character from Coronation Street who was killed by a Blackpool tram!
... RITA!
I annoy my wife by singing the "black bin bag song" when we go shopping.😁
I used to have it as a ringtone 🤣
Should sing send the buggers back 🤪

I annoy my wife just being there.

The more you watch this show the more jokes and quips you realised you missed previously. Amazing show.

They called Brian potter ironside on their mobile phone a reference to 1960s cop in a wheelchair.
Sir Kenny Dalglish played for Glasgow Celtic, Liverpool and Scotland. Legend of the game.
Omg her ringtone in church was hot stuff, like the queue scene in The Full Monty. This show is the gift that keeps on giving

It's simply wonderful. You can laugh and smile throughout.
I know I'm stalking you with how brilliant it is that you've selected PN to review, but it really is a constant source of joy! x
The actor who plays Den Perry is Sir Paul McCartney's cousin.
