As of August 14, 1947, Baluchistan was not part of Pakistan. Pakistan subsequently attacked Baluchistan, and the then-leader of Baluchistan signed documents stating that Baluchistan was now part of Pakistan's territory. However, these documents were later used by Pakistan as evidence to claim that Baluchistan is part of its territory. If any international court or committee were to question Pakistan's claim to Baluchistan, Pakistan could present these signed documents as proof.
The situation with the so-called Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) is different. Pakistan does not possess any document that establishes POK as part of its territory. When Pakistan initially attacked and entered Kashmir, it was seen as an invasion. Later, the Maharaja of Kashmir signed the Instrument of Accession, legally integrating all of Kashmir, including Gilgit and Baltistan, into India. The Maharaja had the option to accede to Pakistan but chose India instead. As a result, the territory legally belongs to India, and the area occupied by Pakistan remains an area of invasion, not legal acquisition.
The Line of Control (LOC) was established as a temporary measure, allowing Pakistan the opportunity to withdraw and giving Kashmiris the choice to join either India or Pakistan. However, Pakistan did not withdraw, leaving the situation unresolved. Pakistan's continued occupation has led to it maintaining a narrative that Kashmir was taken by India. To support this narrative, Pakistan has controlled media, influenced educational institutions to spread anti-India sentiment, and altered historical records to fit its agenda. Over the past 70 years, generations in Pakistan have been led to believe that India is the enemy and has taken Kashmir, with no alternative perspective offered.
In conclusion, Pakistan lacks any legitimate evidence to claim that the so-called POK is part of its territory.
