her gf lives there? but she has a baby? This kinda seems like a very obvious situation where someone is mentally ill but because of the current political climate in america this type of thing is accepted by most people and wouldn't be called out. No sane human being would ever allow this to happen? Why are people not talking about how she was with her GF. So many questions. So who is the dad? Where is he? why is she with a woman. etc. etc. but nooo noo omg don't say that that's so messed up? bruh wtf?

Every single Father I know (including my bff) are the absolute best Dads! And the children are better off without a toxic, abuse, or negligent parent taking care of them. I hate to say it but it's sometine better without the mom being involved on the daily basis or at least till they can get themselves together. Same with some Dads but I usually see it being the moms that need professional help lately.

She tried to help the 'mother' when the witness thought the 'mother' needed it and still went out of her way to help the child either way + stayed around to report to the police. And this witness did so at an obvious emotional cost to herself and at the risk of physical danger, not knowing how the 'mother' would respond to her approach.

That baby is just an accessory for her. Like a pair of shoes or a purse. She uses it to go on playdates and social events. Otherwise she could care less. That baby has no bond with his “mother”. Don’t even like calling her that because she does not deserve the title. You can tell by the child’s lack of reaction to his mother getting upset that they are not bonded and/or he is used to these types of shenanigans. Baby also had zero issue going straight to a stranger, who sadly held onto this baby like a caring parent should, unlike the mother. Husband better lay down a SERIOUS ultimatum w his wife. And even then, I would not trust her alone with this child for a LONG time. Seems VERY self-centered.

The concerned citizen most likely saved this child's life. As a former Child Abuse Investigator, I believe that law enforcement handled this case properly band professionally. The mother is clearly guilty of felony child neglect. She is also guilty of inadequate supervision of the child. The child is not dressed properly for the weather. If I was assigned to this case, I would place the child in the sole custody of the father. I would refer the mother to protective supervision for services. I would also refer the mother to mental health services for assessment and possible substance abuse treatment. I would request the court allow supervised visitation with the child for the mother. My intent would not be to permanently remove the child from the mother's care but to address the mother's issues to ensure the safety of the child. The mother needs to learn to be an appropriate parent. She is extremely fortunate that the child wasn't injured or worse.
