Loved hearing your thoughts on the Topo Magnifly 5 after 50 miles, Jay! Sounds like they're holding up well for you, especially with that wider toe box. Keep those strides coming and thanks for the great review, dear friend!
Thank you much, my friend!
Nice review, Jay. I still think the Magnifly 5 looks like the zero drop version of the Cyclone 2, which I'll be using tonight for hill repeats. BTW, the Escalante Racer 2 was just released. I don't know if you'll be reviewing it. I don't see much difference between the 2 and the 1. Thanks.
The Magnifly 5 does look very similar to the Cyclone 2. However, there are some differences. The Magnifly 5 weighs a couple ounces more due to using Zip foam instead of Pebax (also makes it less bouncy for speed sessions) and it has thicker rubber outsole which will hopefully make them more durable.
And there is also the drop difference.
I probably won't be testing the Escalante Racer 2 soon. I buy the majority of my shoes and opted to get the Escalante 4 for now.
I don't think the changed much on the Racer but I sure like the way they look.

Nice looking shoe. I didn't know this is zero drop. I need to check it out. I like the heel collar and the wider fit.
I really like this shoe. Thank you for watching!
That's a very nice review. How do you find these compared to the Escalante 4? Thanks and keep moving :)
I am still trying to get together my thoughts on the differences.
The Magnifly has more arch support and definitely feels more cushioned.
The Escalantes are probably slightly more responsive and a more breathable upper, but it is close.
Does it run long? The Atmos and Cyclone 2 both run a little long. Im hoping my Experience Flows get delivered soon. If they aren’t as nice as the FWD though, I’ll return them and probably get the Ultrafly 5 or Magnifly.
The Magnifly 5 runs a bit long, pretty much like the Cyclone 2.
We should be getting in the Experience Flows any day at the running store. Looking forward to trying them on.
Is the tongue padded? I left Altra when the padded tongue of the Torin 4 was dropped on the Torin 5. Looking forward to the long-term review!
