  • When ur air drier keeps spitting/purging more than likely a check valve that you can’t get to has failed. There are a couple of other causes like leaking signal line or purge valve orings not seated right. But when you’ve done your testing and are ready for a final fix watch along to see the simple replacement procedure.
    And if you like what you see and are feeling generous, help out some hungry techs out here

    For a 2009 Cascadia the Bendix unloader kit is part # BW K109119 which may also be the cause of the constant purging. It has O rings that wear out over time.

    What’s that red plastic tab on the bottom of the air dryer

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That plastic tab is a plastic plug that goes into a T. This is so you can plumb in for testing purposes or want to quickly fill the system and not run the truck.

      @@bustedknucklebydieseldr3228 if I wiggle that red tab I can hear air coming out just a little bit, also it’s leaking slightly when I’m not messing with but not bad at all. What would you recommend to fix it or is normal to have minimal air coming out of that red tab

      @@MadTruckaYo definitely not normal to have it leaking. Replace that fitting with a normal 90 degree style fitting. Most places can’t get the T so we just change it to a different fitting.

    If you want to save money, just change the air governor valve. But also check all your air lines system that also causes it to keep purging.

    I just replaced my relief valve because it was stuck open. Now the new relief valve want to spit and sputter some times. I put a peace of tape over that so it will hold air until I can figure out why it's doing that.

      Interesting issue. You might have a crack in the rail or if would say definitely an issue with air in the fuel.

    I have replaced mine and it kind of solved my issue but i couldn't achieve the result i was expecting. Last week when i was coming home i noticed the air dryer purging like every 30 seconds. It would kick in at 128psi and it would cut out at 133psi. First i replaced the cartridge, then 11 leaking fittings, then the governor and then the whole air dryer assembly (i have the old style with a metal cover) plus the compressor discharge hose. Now it would kick in at 119psi and cut off at 133psi and is holding the pressure much longer. As far as i can remember it used to kick in around 100psi. Idk how to make it kick in at 100. Idk what to do anymore. Please advise.

      Same here except mine is purging every 23 seconds

      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Realistically kicking on around 95 is what you want. So pressure increase kicking in at 100 is perfectly fine. Popping off at 125 is ideal. And as long as it’s not consistently purging, you’re going to go.

      After all that you done if it's not all ready factory set. Mine has a bolt and a nut right after taking off the dust cover of the governor then I just loosen nut from bolt and at tip of bolt use a screw driver turn right to tight left to loose after that tighten the nut to set it in place of new adjustment. Turn truck on and let it build air and check where cut off is now set to, by checking gauge on dashboard primary gage prefferably.

      @@JS-jv6rg on mine that bolt is cut so it cant be adjusted. The one i replaced is the same way. I still have the old part. Ill disassemble it when i get home this weekend and see what can be done about that bolt .

    It’s important to remove all air from the air system before replacing or repairing this thing right?

    What causes the dryer to constantly spit

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  ปีที่แล้ว

      This will be one of a few issues. A bad leak somewhere, a leak in the signal line to the governor, a bad compressor unloader, or just a stuck check valve in the drier.
