Such a great song! Bette Midler did it first in 1971 but I remember Tanya Tucker & Helen Reddy's versions. The guys did a really nice job backing up Brooke Eden on this song. They never take away from a guest vocalist. And how cool did they all look dressed in the western theme. Reminded me of the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western movies I used to watch.
Every part of their journey is extremely important and significant to Home Free and is to be celebrated. Their respect for all the groups they interact with is paying off in mega-dividends back to them. They are very intentional with their respect and are extremely humble. They look for the good in others on purpose. They look to collaborate not only with established stars but make opportunities with new rising talented artists as others have done for them. They are what is right for this industry that makes us all fall in love with them individually and collectively as Home Free!!!! They with their leadership are bringing us all along for the ride for the right reasons. Long Live Home Free!!!!❣💟
Going to see them again in August! I have seen a video that was put out about a week or so ago of them in concert doing their version of Listen to theMusic by the Doobie Brothers and they do a beatboxing breakdown in the middle of the song! Its so awsome when you hear all of them beatboxing! Thanks for your reactions i love watching them!
HF & Brooke Eden did this cover justice. Originally sung by Bette Midler in 1971, covered by Tanya Tucker in 1972 (when she was 13 yrs old), and Helen Reddy in 1973. I just remember Tanya singing it on the country music stations.
This was good but in my 60 year old mind nobody sings it like Tanya Tucker in 1972. I was 8 years old and loved me some Tanya Tucker. Never got tired of hearing Tanya and her songs played on the radio constantly. What wonderful decade to live in the 70's ...................
This was freaking amazing. Tanya Tucker wrote this song when she was 12 years old I think and performed it at the Grand Ole Opery. One of my favorite songs
Great reaction Saeed! Not a song I particularly enjoyed as a kid in the 70's but wow, #HomeFree has done a great upgrade IMHO. Love that they always ensure their featured artist shines and Brooke Eden was fantastic! The harmonies, percussion and layering are wonderful and the build-up and ending - just WOW!
Apologies to all those who recorded this in the 1970s but I think Home Free & Brooke Eden have done the definitive rendition. The singing, harmonies, beatboxing & setting are all terrific. Thanks for playing this & your reaction! BTW, if you like southern twangs, you might like Austin's original "Earn It" (on his channel - he doesn't try to censor his Georgia twang).
@@SaeedReacts. This song also bring me back to the music of the 1970s and 1980s that I love but haven't listened to in ages : Elton John , Santana, Joe Cocker..... BTY I didn't mentioned before :beautiful cover of Home Free & Broke Eden
That was fun wasn’t it?! It was sung in the 70’s by different singers but I knew it best by Tanya Tucker. This is done so well. Brooke did a great job. All the boys looked great as cowboys. It was filmed in AZ. I’ve been to Belgium, beautiful country. I saw Brussels, loved Grand Place. My son did some college studies there about 12 years ago. Yes, you have French, German and Dutch there. The Dutch language was the most difficult….yes?
So much fun. So cool you visited here. Bruges and Ghent are also beautiful cities, lots of mediaval architecture. I live in Ostend by the coast. I hear Dutch is hard to learn later in life, but its my first language so i wouldnt really know.
@@SaeedReacts. My son learned French and was pretty fluent for awhile but then came home and lost most of it. We just loved the Dutch but thought it was difficult. (I had taken French and Spanish and both were similar). My son is going to France this summer to see some of the Olympics. Pretty cool!
🎼🌱🌱🌱 .. you got it Saeed ... Southern Twang. And Brook sure has it.. her voice is so cool. They nail this .. of course .💚🌱💚 .. so , the original is from. One of the early female Country Music superstars... Tanya Tucker. If you want to hear that "twang" .. check out Tanya !!! I will give you a recommendation... " Two Sparrows In A Hurricane " .. enjoy my friend .. Country Music has the good stuff !! 🎼🎼🎼🎼
People talk as if Tucker somehow owned the song. The original was recorded by the writers Alex Harvey and Barry Collins. It was then recorded magnificently by Bette Midler. Tucker used the popularity of Midler's version and her carefully coiffeured country persona to persuade people that she owned the song. Many even believe she wrote it! but the country community can believe anything. Tucker is almost unknown outside the US.
@@patriciamcl54 good stuff Patricia !! Lots of great info .. most people who follow Country Music know that most hit songs are written by the community of songwriters who excel at it. There are the legends who write their own songs ... like Dolly Parton , Merle Haggard , Kris Kristopherson, Johnny Cash , Emmylou Harris , Zac Brown Band , Toby Keith , and Mr. Willie Nelson. Some of the great songs travel from artist to artist, but I truly love Country Music.
They did an absolutely amazing job with this song and video. It is a cover of a Tanya Tucker song. Did you notice that as the song went on the flowers wilted more? I really enjoy watching your reaction to these guys.
I haven't really responded for a long time because of the bad weeks I've had. So I could use listening to Home Free, just like this song and video! This is super. I like this better than the original and other covers Great sung, incredible bass, unbelievable beatboxing/vocal sounds, amazing harmonies. Each has just the right role in the song. And then the video!!! Wow. They all look perfect🥰😍. Images from earlier Western movies that I watched a lot came back! Yes, another successful cover!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Home Free and Brooke Eden are awesome together!💖
Growing up I loved Tanya Tucker's version, but this is very nice ... Definitely a southern 'twang,' but the song talks of Galveston which is in Texas (on the coast)

Since you mention liking dialects and accents.. There is no true southern accent here, but many, since they are regional. There are also northern accents and Adam and Rob have them, although slightly. They sound more Canadian than southern. To hear it, listen to an indepth interview with Tim and Austin. Tim has a very clear Texas accent. It has less twang and more drawl. Austin has a very clear Georgia accent, which is more quick and twangy with less drawl. Tennessee is the most interesting because those from eastern Tennessee sound very much like Austin, but those from Western Tennessee have a different accent and once you pick it up, you can identify it immediately when you hear it. It's more Elvis Presley like.
@@SaeedReacts. Another regional like that is Boston and New York. Although they are very close together, the accents are totally different. Even in New York, the different parts have different accents.
