That was great ! I really enjoyed the in car footage and the walk through the pits to see the cars. I have a 37 Chev coupe gasser myself ,here in Ontario, Canada.
I'm 68 now sure looks like home in the late 60 I was 16 and at SIR. When not there I lived about 8 miles away and could still hear them sure was nice back then, the gas was cheap, the cars wore fast, the music was loud and the sun came out.
I have a survivor altered wheelbase 1963 Chevy II Gasser. I am currently restoring the bottom. Firewall and front suspension is done. Swapping the 396 with a 555. Leaving the body and interior as I found it. I have had my hippie sign painter fully letter the car with local icons from my days in the 60’s. Getting close to having it back on Central Avenue. The door says: Central Avenue SHAKER. I considered swapping it to right hand drive. But I don’t thing that will work in TEXAS.
@@musclecars.universe I am an old school Texas rancher. I have built cars since 1975. You would piss yourself over some I’ve owned. How bout a real and exact restored 1964 Hemi 4 speed Dodge lightweight? But I wallow in car geekdom. As an old bristly bastard, I do not believe in social media. But I do see you are on FB. I will ask my lovely wife to post a photo so you can see the AFX Chevy II. Love your videos! Or, where can I find an email address?
😍Love the Running on Empty '57 Chevy!👍
Yeah I think between the color scheme and the savagery of the blown alcohol motor it truly stands out 😎
The individuality that went into these building these cars is what makes them so exciting .
Exactly what appeals to me about Gassers. The level of personalization and the meticulous details are just terrific!
Great ! Need more Gassers !

Thanks Bob, great to hear you enjoyed it!
Gasanova was awesome looking!
It's as impactful to see whether it's the 1st time or the 100th time. Always cool!

Thanks Jack, glad you enjoyed it
GOOD ONE. THANX
😎😎😎
I can see why he had so much trouble keeping that 56 straight ,
The steering wheel was on the wrong side.
😄
The rules should include …compulsory back up girls in all gasser teams to run as it was back in the day ❤❤❤❤😂😂
Yeah that would be very, very appropriate! 🙏
Awsome footage of the gassers Andy, looked like a great days racing...sad i couldnt be part of this.cheers Russ
Thanks Russ, see you at Nostalgia Drags in April!
Thank You!😮😊!

@@musclecars.universe hell yeah. I need the inspiration and motivation to get my car built.
@@OneMoreBolt you're in the right place then 🙏
I love the zoomies on the 57, good idea.
Glad you like them!
Awesome!
Thanks for watching!
Music cool. 😎👍
Now that's what I call a holeshot let's see a new car do that
Haha yeah bet
Tis rather hard to pick a fave among this lot of great Gassers but I'll go with Strange Magic on this occasion. Gotta thankya big time for this MCU.
A real crowd favorite. The wheelie master haha!
Hot Wheels!😆🚘
Share a lot of shoe boxes where I'm at gas cars they're doing 7 seconds Samoa drag strip
The shift pattern on the 56.
Yeah that's awesome
Any chance in the future that you could list the name of the dragstrip where the event took place? And the date of the event?
Sure thing, good point actually. The location is already there btw it's Meremere Dragway, South of Auckland, New Zealand.
Is that New Zealand? Holy smokes!
Yes it is
@@musclecars.universe Wow who knew?, I knew the Oz bunch are car crazy, so this makes sense! What a thrill to do 150MPH in a drag strip rat rod!
@@alanwood5857 yeah precisely, would be very sketchy
What band played the kick ass tunes , please?
😈🔱👿..i want to marry running on empty..im in lov 😍 like Pepe Le Pew loved the cat lol
Don't even think I could drive a right seat 4spd that would reeely mess with your muscle memory? Especially in a race
Why do some of these cars have right hand drives?
Because we are in New Zealand
Why are the cars right hand driven ?
This event is held in New Zealand, hence some of them are converted to RHD
Is a gasser and a farter the same thing?...🤓..if I is I'm in!
