    DUDE!! So electric. I can't imagine the mental gymnastics throughout the whole race on top of the physical exertion. Way to go, Jack!! Incredible!!

    Zen Jack narrating by the lake is a striking contrast to the tired guy dogging along on the trail. Way to go!

      Seriously! I really didn’t want to look at the camera starting at hope pass outbound, so happy that there was enough footage. Excited to figure out what’s next 😊

      I had to leave all of the side commentary throughout. It made the video so much better! Really fun to be able to relive this experience.

      Cutoff times always on my radar, so I knew I needed to keep going. Still really enjoyed the event and will do more ultras in the future!

      Could not handle the chick in the braid - she just wouldn’t back off and cock blocked the rest of your support

    Congrats!
    Your feet at 17:15 looked very much harmed by your shoes. Especially 1st and 5th digit.
    Next time in shoes with wider toe box? Ever tried Altra Shoes?

    • @do_things
      @do_things  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your concern! I am aware of the damage I’ve caused due to traditional shoes over the years. I actually wore a pair of Altra’s for part of the race and consistently wear toe socks and use toe spreaders to slowly undo the damage that’s been done. It’s a work in progress, but my feet are significantly improved from what they were a year ago!

    Excellent job! This is an epic race to take on. But for anyone reading this, please, please, please do not take ibuprofen during an ultra. Your system is already compromised and adding that on top can do real damage. Obviously ultras haven’t been heavily researched, but there are some recent studies that highlight the danger.

    • @do_things
      @do_things  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you, Jacob! Good to know on the ibuprofen. I will look into this more.

      @@do_things no problem! I just want everyone to be safe while doing cool shit. And once again, I hope it’s really sank in how epic a feat this was. We get in our little ultra bubble and forget that this stuff isn’t actually normal 😂

    how long did you rest in-between stops ?

    • @do_things
      @do_things  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the aid stations I stopped for 5 minutes or less. Only a few of the aid stations I stopped for 10-15 minutes, but a majority of the race I was trying to keep moving forward.

    I think the winner of these races should be the ones who finish based on the least amount of support or crew to alleviate the point of the challenge.
