Thank you for sharing this overview and your previous review of Pauper's Ladder. I'm smitten by the charm of this. I appreciate more in-depth, involved adventure games (anxiously awaiting the new Domain of Mirza Noctis), but I've also been looking for something around this specific level of commitment that isn't Talisman or its derivatives. Tiny Epic Dungeons gets close, Hand of Fate: Ordeals was beautiful--cheers, Mr. O'Toole--but lacking, Iron Helm wasn't it either, and honestly the Restoration Games redux of Dark Tower has been the only hit in our household for a roughly comparable tier of complexity. Jaws of the Lion is good at its particular vibe, and non-fantasy games like Waste Knights or Eldritch Horror slot in nicely, but this looks so very warm, inclusive, and inviting.
I'm glad to have been introduced to this, and I hope I enjoy it once I can secure a copy! 😊

Looks like a fun expansion. Agreed it's probably more satisfying if you don't over dilute the thing.

I'm very much wondering about mixing the components from the base and the expansion. I was a little disappointed, reading the rules, that it wanted to keep everything separate.
It started because colour matching the card backs across the two games was proving impossible (same manufacturer, but almost 3 years apart). With that being the case, I decided to approach The Moon Towers as a separate game instead of a shuffled-in expansion. That said, I have been working on a print & play variation game where the decks from both games are shuffled together - after all, even if you can spot which set a Region card is from, that only narrows it down to 45 potential encounters instead of 90 :-)
Is the field guild included with the moon towers expansion?
Can’t get the game here in the US .
I live in the US and have ordered everything for the game from the designers website.
