I have the same problem. Had the laptop for 12 months. The laptop does run really hot so I'm wondering if that's the cause of the swelling. After contacting Chuwi I had to pay US$25 for shipping. 4 weeks later and I'm still waiting. Thanks for the video though, I'll be sure to use it when the battery finally arrives!
@@glori8188 no they didn't. They kept saying they don't have it in stock. Eventually they agreed to repair it if I ship it to Hong Kong. Which I did and I had to pay for the shipping. Still waiting on its return.
My trackpad is starting to bulge out on the left, I think I have the same problem. Question is, if the replacement battery is of the same make, isn't it just as likely to have the same issue in a short time again.
@@becontentandsilencethemind1562 Yup. Cheap doesn't mean value. Lesson learned. I'll try to use it for a while and then get an M3 Macbook Air or something when it's 3nm. Or I do have Microsoft store credit for a Surface but they'd have to refresh the Laptop again to not be underwhelming.
@@tipoomaster to be fair my dell xps 13 and macbook pro 13 2017 all have battery issue after a year so…might be ME haha…thin n light not meant for heavy task :)
Random q, did your hinge also start separating and making a pale area on the screen? This laptop is built like shite lol, though the screen was nice for the price

Depends on what you use it for…This chipset is = to the MacBook Pro 2018 and so far for my need its great! The only issue I can think of is battery life…

@@becontentandsilencethemind1562 It has happened twice to me. I was unable to get it to work without the battery while plugged in of course. Did you have to do something special to get it to work.
I sent Chuwi an email to see how much but they do take awhile to answer :)…as for buying outside of Chuwi, it ranges from $45-75 depends on where you live. Locally on shopee I can find some for $45 and “computer shop” can order battery and install for you for $75 but to be honestly buying from Chuwi is probably your best option. I’ll let you know once Chuwi reply.

That’s a great question but there’s too many variables to pinpoint exactly what caused it. It could be the way I used it (always plugged in) BUT I used my many laptops the same way so I can only assume low quality battery or poor design. :)

Yes it will! Lol after only 6 months it swell again and I’m done with Chuwi so I’m using it without a battery :)

I guess lucky me! lol I only have battery issues. Everything is working fine as a plugged in desktop.

Got a reply from Chuwi support today and they said it’s $20 usd for the battery and shipping will be calculated depending on your location. :)

Roughly 6 months I believe…but that’s only because my track pad stop clicking…I mostly use a mouse so never really pay attention to the trackpad.

My laptop's keyboard is fucked up bro. Its only been 13 months. They should give people replacements for defective products.
It also resulted in my keyboard being damaged

Sadly yes! Lucky for me after using as a desktop without battery its still working without any other issue.
