I've listened to this song countless times. It's perfect and timeless. Understood that it was covered by Randy Travis...but Tom's own rendition is much more moving IMHO. Wish more people knew what a talent that Tom is, and listened to his music.
Everytime I hear you sing and tell stories I feel your soulful beautiful heart projecting unconditional love into the universe. I will always remember you.
I first heard you shortly after my separation and ultimate divorce. I had two young children. To say it was difficult would be an understatement. I discovered your music during that time. I saw you perform at some really cool house shows and gigs in my area at the time. In fact, at one house show in VA, I held your guitar and participated in a round after the show. Then, I was privileged to have you perform at the Americana Rhythm /National Media Services show case at the 2011 Folk Alliance Conference. I said in your introduction and shared that your music was responsible for me picking up my guitar again and re-birthing my music career. My guitar sat in it's case in the closet in the rented apartment for several years. It was hearing your music that motivated me to take that guitar out of the closet and figure out what you were playing :) Your music resonated with me and still does to this day. We've both challenged major heath issues and yet, to see you still performing and creating, inspires me to this day. Keep it up brother!
Dearest Tom, I Love ❤️ you my Brother and will miss you and All you have been bringing to our Tiny World 🌍 we All call Home!! RIP my Dear Friend and we will meet again!! Neal 🌈
Tom, you write & sing so many beautiful and wise songs, but this one always simply melts my heart. If only we all took your wisdom to heart and put it into practice in our lives. Bless you, dear man.
Agree about Tom's version, is the best. I a prejudiced. I have known Tom for 50 years. We talk and text often. He is a dear friend, but his music.......It has touched so many lives. This man...heaven sent

Beautiful! Anyone know the tuning for this?
Thanks
I suggest you contact Tom. He's easily found on the net and great guy.
Same intervals as DADGAD. I think Tom is tuned down a whole step, so when he capos up to five, he's playing F-C-F-Bb-C-F
R.I.P. You have made a good mark on this world.
Beautifully done!!
