Something similar happened on July 1, 2006 on SEPTA's Warminster Line. An inbound SEPTA train ran a red signal and resulted in a head-on collision near Roslyn Station.
I wrote on another site about this crash that it parallels a Welsh disaster at the beginning of the same year - single track, incompetence by various people and, as you explain, badly out of date signalling installations led to a head on collision between an express and a local - one of which, ironically was coming from somewhere else named Newtown. Now you tell me you got psychic traces at the crash site - that is taking coincidence even further, as there's a curious ghost tale associated with the Abermule collision too. That really is taking parallels too far for my peace of mind!
Sometimes things that seem to be coincidence are unnerving. The entirety of this disaster is a cascade of one mistake upon another, any of which could have prevented this disaster if acted upon. Thank you, John.

It's a constant reminder that innocent looking areas may hold the echoes of ltragedies of long ago.
