Absolutely gorgeous dog! Thanks to all who helped rescue her, seems she may have had a bad time before these wonderful people got her and hence her wanting to run away if she is uncertain of people...such a shame and truly glad she has a good home to go warm up in and be loved. Thank so much for getting her!
Fire and rescue are the best! When people sometimes let animals down...we are truly grateful to have these type of people and services to help with mans best friend too! Never stop being Hero's!
Happy ending for all! I knew of a rescue dog that kept running away for a while, as she was confused with her new circumstances. Glad to see all of the help ! Thank you
@ RareOreo: What do you want them to do. Let it run further into the lake and possibly drown? He had to do that. He couldn't get off the boat. I'm just happy that she was saved. They did a good job.
Had Great Pyrenees in pairs for over 30yrs. My favorite breed ever! If they are taken daily for a couple of weeks on lead, around the backyard, to mark their territory; they will learn what their territory is, and less likely to 'wander'. Once they are sure of their personal territory they usually stick to guarding it. We lived on a lot of acres backed by wilderness. Never had any wandering Great Pyrenees. For whatever reason people love the beauty of the breed, but forget they are bred to guard "their" territory. They first have to learn what 'their' territory is. Not the best backyard dog, so you have to double down of lead walking around backyard repeatedly so they can do 'markings'. Then later by lead, up & down the street, but start first around the yard repeatedly. This is so if the dog gets out of the yard, they will usually follow their trail of 'markings'. A dog normally will search their old markings to "re-mark" those markings. Have rescued many "wandering' Great Pyrenees, because this training was not done. Good Luck.
911 is not for rescuing animals. There are other agencies that do that. I don’t know what you’re mad about. The guy was unsure, but the cops sent the rescuers (as they should). Happy ending for all.
They were not owners, they were fostering the dog. She was a typical Pyramese in that she bolted from them. They are always running away from their owners because they are born to roam.

The fact that wa*%er even thought "i don't know if you'll respond to a dog" pisses me off beyond words.
Unfortunately, in my area, people really don't care about animals. I just don't understand.

Don't own a dog if you don't have half a brain to properly care for it!! Really

Come over to my country and I'll let you choose between a .270, 9mm, ,45 or even .38. I'll save your state and country a lot of tax dollars :)
