Your awesome Mang!! I’m sitting here on a Fishing Boat in AK and learning a legendary tune. Thanks for all of the comprehensible material you put out into the mandolin world.

I really appreciate the backstory/history and discography that you offer for these tunes. Also the brief theory discussion. Thanks for your hard work.

Thank you, great video! After years of playing irish music and tenor banjo and bouzouki I decided to give the mandolin a try - I'm really loving it!

I learned this one from my mandolin teacher in Takoma Park, MD - Tom Espinola. He played it with his group up there, and i learned it from their album!

I've loved Mike Marshall's Yew Piney Mt. For years and never been able to find the tune transcribed anywhere. Now I know why.
    Great lesson.

There's a couple of Accents in the A part that are missing and the B part could swing a little bit. The C part is perfect. Other than that it I like it. I used to live in between the two Berkeley buildings and played in the subways.

@@thejoshpit Isn't that why "ralph's banjo special" was named that? Old publishing trick, instead of calling it "Daybreak in Dixie"

I can play Bach’s Chiaconne and several of the fugues better than any bluegrass tune. 😂. Guess what instrument I started with. …
