I love Arabians, however, their head shape has become so deformed now from the traditional look that they don’t look like Arabs should anymore. Unfortunately the more deformed they are, the more people like it and breeders go for “more” deformed
Arabians should have a proud look meaning that the tail should be flying, the flank should be mostly flat and the face should have a slight dish. The horses today look like a Disney creator went crazy with his crayon. Why have the breeders of today corrupted this noble breed into some kind of Barbie doll horse? The true Arabian is a war horse from the desert, strong and fearless with incredible stamina. These horses are not representing the true breed. This is an abomination.
@@lauraharmour Hello Laura, please look at the history of the Arabian horse and where it comes from. The origin was a horse that would go across the dessert carrying his loyal master over the dunes. From there he was bred to become a race horse because he had good stamina. Arabians crossed with other breeds became known as thoroughbreds, race horses in the United Kingdom and the United States. That breed has gone on to become a foundation for other breeds going on to become Saddlebreds, Standardbreds, Tennessee Walking horses and many others. The Arabian breed is a foundation breed meaning that it lends is genetics to other breeds imparting strength, agility and endurance. Meanwhile, stay safe and love your family. Hopefully this COVID thing will end soon and we may go out and look at the beautiful horses once again!

Showing horses at the top level in Australia and winning , state , Pan Pacific, and reserve Australian overall . I know how much work goes into presenting these beautifull horses. . Now do not breed any more but compete on an Arabian at Arabian shows and dressage. You can not beat them for their intellegence and beauty.
@N yes, they are pure, but what she was replying to was how the breeding now makes their faces look very unnatural. That is what was meant by destroying the breed. How these horses faces are these days, I dont see how they could survive being true desert horses. I would think their breathing would be somewhat difficult with such elongated narrow noses.
I agree! These horses look like they went to the plastic surgery place, not real, not beautiful just a fake imitation of what an Arabian should look like.
The first super dished Arabian was the Goldolphin, beautiful look. Small muzzle, dished profile (not to this extreme), and the fine strong legs. Then they just are taking it to the extreme. Next we'll see is pug nosed horses if they keep going this extreme.
So sad to see that exaggerated dish in the face. That is not how the true Arab horses were bred. They need to run and breathe and are not supposed to be sea horse shaped. Polish Arabs haven't gone that way (yet), until the American breeders get at them too.
With that deformed dish face that horse will never be good at what the Arabs bred them for, endurance and speed! Small nasal cavities will not allow enough air passage to allow the horse to breathe properly under gallop. Shame really. It’s a reaction to judges idiocy about “beauty” and what conformation should look like. Breed for the judges outlandish standards not for what true Arabians should be.
@@maryannlane7810 That is what happens when horses are bred for the "show ring" instead of athletic ability. What they have been bred for centuries to do is being bred out of them for the show ring.
I agree, why are the breeders doing this to this breed of horse? This breed is an endurance breed, bred for warfare in the desert originally. The silly dish face that they are showing now is like a Barbie doll version. How is that horse going to go out and go for days in the desert with a nose like that. This makes me sad. My horse was Arabian and he was smart as a whip, as we say in America, and he could go all day on all terrain. I am sad that the Arabian breed is going this way. Shame on the people doing this.
Beautiful in body, horrid in head! They should breed them to Thoroughbreds to get the head back to normal looking. Such a shame of what humans did! And people think this animal is beautiful! No, this horse cannot breath properly because of the head deformity and would not EVER be able to run a proper herd, so sad! Should be gelded!
These horses are beautiful...but the over breeding to get the dish head are making them look like ducks..also they are forgetting where are all the teeth fitting in there mouth...they will have terrible problems these poor horses as they're faces change ..just to look good for the owner...its bad enough stallions kept isolated all there lives and can't run around with a heard...but why would the owner care...its all about money...status..and I've got the best horse

Does he know he's the best or what!! Only one word for that horse. Perfect
Besides the dish in the face
Awful dished face. What can this horse really do that his ancestors did? Probably not much.
This is a sad representation of an Arabian horse.

The layer of grease doesn't improve the look either.
I think we can trust Arab breeders to know what Arabians are supposed to look like rather than little girls in America

Not all Arabians have "teacup" muzzles. It depends on the breed of Arabian.
