    These bale wagons are flimsy and subject to damage as they always twisting under load

    Seems the ranch owner could have one of the maintenance guys do that kind of work because the engine and mechanic work you normally do is more important and needed by others. Not griping...but I guess if the pay is good...money is money.

    That factory hay rack looks like it was made at Fischer Price or Playschool- definitely not built "Farm Tough".

    I think Warren has a wee devil on his shoulder telling him to weld close to the hay, just to wind up the comments. Lol.
    The foreshortening of the camera makes those bales look closer than they are.

      I was sent to a fire in a hayfield where the owner had used a grinder on his swather. When the fire got going, he saved the swather but lost his suburban. We didn't save one hay bale in the entire field. You can't pump enough water to stop a bale burning. I would not weld there without a fire watch with a charged line. This is why Warren is the man. No problem for him.

    I started using the Diablo brand metal cutting skill saw blades in my old 7 1/2inch wood cutting skillsaw. And they cut that soft steel like butter. Faster than a torch on most cuts and don't Ned ground smooth after cutting. Give it a try and you'll see. I was amazed when I tried it and I keep one around all the time now.

    Ok you got me curious Warren, was that 7018 1/8 welding rod or were you using a different welding rod type ?

    • @crandonborth
      @crandonborth 2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Most likely a 6011 as its painted and rusty steel and thats were those rods shine.

    • @charlesb4267
      @charlesb4267 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@crandonborth Or 6010 as I assume his welding rig is DC. I was looking at his welding stubs to get a visual on the weld rod vs the over all diameter of the flux and thought maybe 7018 because the flux is fairly thin on a 6010/6011. Obviously Warren can set us straight on our guessing game !

    • @crandonborth
      @crandonborth ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@charlesb4267 Personally i think 7018 do a better job but can be a bit trickier if you don't have perfect conditions but leaves a nicer finish. The 6011/6010 rods are bit more aggressive and leave more spatter which is what i was seeing. Who knows... he could've been running a 1218 hardfacing rod for all we know... 😂

    • @charlesb4267
      @charlesb4267 38 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      @@crandonborth 7018 is less prone to cracking the weld and I at least believe better at being able to flex without cracking. There is a reason why 6010 gets used for a root pass on thicker material to get the full penetration, then 7018 used to make the multiple passes to complete the weld. Sadly I so rarely weld that I have never gained the skills I should have ... then again I had never taken any courses in welding. Wish I had a mig ... and a tig as well and able to weld aluminum but don't have either of them.
