I switched from winxp to win7 back in 2009 and Used it all the way to 2019 when finally due to hardware incompatibilities had to switch to linux. It was the last main Microsoft product I used. I Miss the old days when the user was in control of the system he OWNED. God bless linux. The last stand.
I always thought there was a very low chance that Linux would never become all that popular when it came to PC operating systems. I thought that Microsoft would never make Windows so bad that people were willing to give up compatibility, and their experience gained with the OS over the years, that people would put up with it unless it got really bad, because Linux would just never become easy enough to swap to or use at all. I was incredibly wrong, nowadays Windows 11 has so much bloat its insane. Theyre now sticking AI in everything that doesnt need it, their software like Office hasnt been all that great compared to the alternatives for years now. And Linux on the desktop has been developing so rapidly without any signs of slowing down, in the past we were talking about when will Linux catch up to Windows, now we are talking about how much better does Linux have to get for people to start using it. Windows software is also progressively becoming easier and easier to run on Linux too. Maybe at some point, even computer manufacturing companies will start selling computers running Linux, in order to save on license costs.

Windows 7 was the first computer I ever owned. I loved the little startup sequence and everything. That was a whole decade ago. This is so nostalgic for me.
This is either the sound of trying to play Roblox or browser games like Club Penguin on my big sisters laptop back in 2012, or logging into the school computers for Education City, Purple Mash, Scratch and Brain Pop. I also have a memory of whenever we would startup the school computers at an ICT lesson, the room would be filled with this noise over and over. It was actually kinda annoying haha
