Yesterday I was blessed with your Part 1 masterclass and today with your part 2. I have started out on my video-making journey in 2011 with FCPX with which I am familiar by now with most of the tools except colour correction! I tried to learn about this subject but was daunted by the vast knowledge it has and lack of good [which means 😀free tutorials by skilled teachers] on this subject. For a long while I used to drag in colour presets, mostly the warm preset, into my videos and export the projects. Early this year however, watching a beautiful short video by Sarge on this topic, I have started to appreciate the beauty of apply colour corrections to individual video clips using the basic tools suggested by Sarge. Today, watching your master class, I felt immensely glad to watch the changes that different tools bring to the histogram curves. I am a 72-year old babe in this field and feel very blessed to be able to learn from a talented teacher like you. I hope that what I learn from you will help me be better at colour correcting video clips in FCPX. Though your videos are 'long' by todays standards 😄, I know that the time will be well spent in learning from the words that emanate from your wise lips. God bless you, God bles your family, God bless your finances, God bless all your works🙏 Regards Dr. Somanna BTW, in case you have any tutorials on colour correction in FCPX, please let me know.
Really enjoyed this video -- especially how you explain WHY we would want to use these tools (often overlooked in tutorials just showing how). Also FYI you can right click on histogram to change modes, which will save you a little scrolling around. :)
Thank you for the insightful explanation regarding "Math & Physics." The visual transition of the picture, coupled with the simplicity of understanding provided by the histograms, really helped everything click for me. I've always relied on visual cues before, but now I have a deeper comprehension of the underlying reasons. I appreciate your effort on this video!!!!!! Off to the next one :D
Hi Joseph, just moved from LR to Photomator/Pixelmator. Had this software for sometime, but never really used it. Really enjoying your first two in the Pixelmator series.
Hi, how can I remove the first panel over the histogram in the side panel? On my 14" laptop, both these panels take almost 2/3 of the hight of the screen. Thanks.
I'm glad it helped you understand the sliders. They can feel like a black box at first, but once you see what they're doing, it become really clear on which to use and when.
You need two versions of this course: what the title said it is and what it has turned out to be a "photography starter master class." We intermediate folks know what/how to do what we want. We need to know how to do it in Pixelmator Pro. A mistake having so much basic photography info in this IMHO. For me, show how to do what each tool does.

Thanks for the histogram tip. I'll make good use of it!
Keep it up, you're putting together some very useful information for anyone interested in photo editing, regardless of the app they're using.
I'm glad you found it useful! I'm hoping to teach really good principles that artists can take with them throughout their career.

Would love a Tut on colour grading within Photomator/Pixelmator using the colour balance please
New subscriber Never edited photos in my life. Just got Pixel Mator Pro. Hopefully I can learn through your videos.
Welcome! My goal is to make this as beginner friendly as possible, so if you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.
@@JosephSlinker thanks it is nerve racking so if you go over the basics in more than one video that is okay.
@CarnivoreKipp we’re going to move very slowly. I’m very happy to make in depth videos if any topics need follow videos.

If you hover your mouse over the bottom edge of the panel you can click and drag it up to collapse it.
I used the sliders until I had an image I was happy with. but didn't actually know what they all meant. now I know. thx 4 the vid.

Fantastic presentation! A new subscriber here 😊
Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.
That’s actually a very good content! I know better understand the tools I have been using for years!
I'm glad I could help!
You didn’t talk about the selective option in clarity. I use it, but would like to see you add it to the series if possible.
Great call out! I've got that planned in a couple of episodes from now. BTW, I love your user name.
