This is not right way to do. The water will leak from the gaps after few months. That is exactly what is happening to us.
Right way is to put the basin on the slab and cover it up with sink cutting smaller than the sink width. That takes time and is perfect fit.
Now I'm spending 7k just to change the way the earlier worker did.
