When we talk about gym bags and duffels, we know King Kong is one of the best brands out there. They have a wide spectrum of options to choose from so we will each have our own great gym experience.
The King Kong Core 35 Duffel comes in two different sizes, a 35-liter and a 51-liter duffel. This duffel also has a lot of pockets and organization for an elevated gym experience.
For its price point, the materials used are OKAY. Its exterior material is polyester which makes it lightweight as compared to other gym bags. Due to the choice of materials, expect it to be not as quite as durable and weather resistant as compared to others

I've owned this bag (35L core duffel) for about 6 months now and I can comment on some of the things I like and dislike about the bag. I go to the gym and work separately, so I do not bring this bag to the gym with plans to shower and go to work after (I've done it once and it is possible, but the bag will be very full). For reference, I typically carry a lifting belt, lifting straps, 2 D-handles, a rope for cable machines, an extra pair of running shoes and flip flops, my EDC (wallet, phone, keys, knife, heroclip), and a 24 ounce hydroflask.
Pros:
Affordable, especially when there's a sale or some coupons available. They also provide discounts for military so that's nice.
The weight is very nice, especially when you're sore/exhausted.
The hardware along the strap is metal on my bag, so I'm more confident in its durability compared to the one in your sample.
If you want more organization, they have dividers you can but that fit perfectly inside of it.
The look is super lowkey which I love. It keeps you focused in a way since it's not an item you feel the need to flex.
The lifting belt spot is unbelievably genius for a duffel bag because it allows you to externally store the belt instead of internally which gives you so much more usable space. Whoever came up with this at king kong deserves an award.
Cons:
The stitching like you mentioned gets frayed very quickly. I emailed King Kong about this, and they said it's normal as a result of the excess material during the stitching process itself, which I thought made no sense. They did offer to replace my bag at no extra cost so that was reassuring.
If the bag is not filled up, the zippers have a hard time getting all the way around due to getting caught on some lining on the inside. It's not a deal breaker, but it can be annoying.
The laptop pocket isn't perfect, but I've found it usable for other things such as a make shift divider for smaller items I don't want mixed in with my gym specific stuff. As a laptop sleeve itself though, 4/10.
Overall I got my bag on sale at $110 and I'm extremely happy with it. The warranty seems strong and the bag is really no BS. Quality is mediocre, but expected at the price point and I still expect my bag to last a long time. If you're looking for a bag that you can take to the gym and hold all of your essentials (and maybe sometimes more) then I think this bag is an excellent choice. I've only ever had crappy $30 duffel before this, so I think this is a huge step up for casual to even hard-core gym goers.
thanks for the epic comment!

Happy to help!
Don't even want a duffle, or a new bag for that matter. But addicted to watching bag reviews (nomads best in the biz btw, addicted to watching 👏)

Desde Colombia un gran saludo excelente explicación
Gracias amigo!
Duffel bags are worth a try!
For sure!
have you seen the new Osprey AODE Series bags? hoping to see your review soon :)
I haven't, do they look nice?
I wonder if they changed the material because on the website it says 500 D nylon body material (pvc backing) and nylon webbing and lining? Or is the pvc backing the nylon perhaps?
they may have changed, I'd recommend asking their customer support - please let us know what they say!
Do you think the shoe compartment on the side can fit a pair of 16oz boxing gloves?
hm, not sure to be honest, that's definitely a question I would recommend asking King Kong customer support. Be sure to let us know what they say!
Can you please review tropicfeel’s backpacks? 😊
Hive review coming in a few weeks!
Is there a way to get this from europe? I checked the website and they only ship to US/Canada.
might have to look into freight forwarding yourself
I have a lever belt, does anyone have any issues with the belt compartment (especially when the bag and pockets are full) since a lever belt is usually pretty thick and of course has a lever?
Following
Wondering the same exact thing!
They do have a quick video and they do say it “can fit” a lever belt but the bag doesn’t seem full in the video so it’s hard to tell if the lever gets in the way of the pockets and such.
@@samvaleros Hmmm, suppose we'll just have to find out and utilize their "no questions asked returns" if it doesn't work out. :D
I see the King Kong dividers in the thumbnail but no coverage of them in the review
We don’t have any with us unfortunately
I have one and dont have the plastic on the shoulder mode. Its metal now 🥵
Thanks for letting us know
Im so early that when I like the video, Im 0
