Well said! Unfortunately you see so many people on the internet who believes every word that comes out if the Kremlin and that nato is surrounding Russia. The fact of the matter is that ALL nations who join nato do so of their own accord and we all know why Finland, Sweden and the Baltic’s applied!

Mark Rutte will be in Brussels more often than in The Hague, as long as he is Secretary General of NATO. But Rutte and Zelensky have known each other for much longer of course, since the dramatic course of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17), and Zelensky could not have wished for a better SG. Because Rutte has already sworn, as Prime Minister of the Netherlands, that Putin will pay for the victims of MH17.

If Russia is launching missiles against Ukraine, then by logic Ukraine should be allowed to act "in-kind" towards Russia, and if Russia doesn't like that, well then Russia should never have started its illegal war in the first place, simple as that.

I am going to be brutally honest: there are not enough words we (Ukrainians) can say to thank EU, US and all of other our allies (and even more so for the regular people), but some decisions are taking way too long, and we don't have unlimited time. The US are really careful to not make any decisions that can escalate the war (or conflict, as Antony Blinken likes to say), but without them it might happen that in a year or two there would be noone NATO could stay with.

And when i say victims, i mean victims by western standards because even aggressors like Russia see themselves as victims. If everyone would be like you, there would be no help for people. Ukraine definitely deserves today the privilege of joining NATO, that is for sure. But before accepting any other member, NATO should agree on explicit removal articles. So if in 50 years the political winds change in a given country, we are not stuck with some pro enemy country. This IS A PROBLEM that should be addressed, and nobody ever discusses it. Ukraine is so deserving that we could accept them even with an additional article where they accept without reservations that a future removal process will be enacted. But such precondition should exist.
Well, people like Orban, Erdogan, Fico will have to decide for themselves if Russia has the power to veto them. They have the right and the collective back to simply ignore Russia's will.
