thanks for your all videos very helpful
if can you help me How can I extract SIF values in the XFEM method (ABAQUS)?

Hello Sir, thanks for your video lesson. Can you tell me ABAQUS can calculate in statically long-term loading?

    hello sir
can u tell me that, if i have senb specimen with edge crack between two parallel plane point.
    and related correction...

Hello, sir, I am doing the same thing except that I already have a notch and crack on the specimen before bending it so do I need to drow the notch and crack in the specimen.

you did well but when here is audio to explain that's better

How did you determine the material properties to use? I understand the elastic properties, but what about the plasticity and maspe damage ones? Thank you

you need to obtain those properties from experiments. for instance you can do some uni axial tension tests and use the ultimate tensile strength as maxpe. The force deflection curve will can give you the strain energy taken by the specimen.

Hi Adeel , i want to know how can we calculate the MAXPS and the evolution of the crack ( displacement or energy )

+Zakariae Abdeddine Hello Zakariae. I am slightly confused by your question. the outputs you have mentioned are standard outputs in abaqus. you just need to make sure that they are check the the Step module > Field output section

Hello Adeel..I model 2D Three point beam with a hole and bending test in abaqus. The crack be located, but when I submit job, abaqus said"crack domain contains invalid element shape".DO you know why?

+Tang ham XFEM is only compatible (in abaqus) with linear hex (solid) and linear and quadratic tet (solid) elements. Check your element types ....

Hello Abdeel.. I need to model Three point beam bending test in abaqus. Material is Asphalt concrete which is viscoelastic. I am facing some problem in modelling.. Can you please help me out with those? and how did you extract the required output like fracture energy, cracktip displacement and j-integral etc??..

    • @adeelyj
      @adeelyj  8 ปีที่แล้ว

+Prashanthi Putchakayala What kind of problems? I did not use J-integral. I am not sure if you can use it with XFEM. Crack opening can be calculated by the nodal deformation of the cracked element. You can apply distance formula to calculate the opening between the nodes of the cracked element.
If by fracture energy, you mean damage dissipation energy, then it is a standard element output. Check out them in the Step Module > Field Outputs.

This is not working for me.
    I can't see the point at 16:32.
