18mm f2 , xf27mm f2.8 and xc15-45mm ,is my inexpensive lightweight combo. 👍✌️🙏

Man I really like the picture with the woman sitting behind the glass and the man standing outside. She is in her thoughts while he is checking his phone. They are completely separate from one another but from this prospective, they couldn’t be any closer. 3:10
For me: 16 2.8, 30 2.8 and Samyang 75 1.8 are my lightweight trio.
Fujifilm 23/1.4 R and 35/1.4 R. Swallowing the 16/2.8 and 90/2.0 too. The 23/2 graphite stays home. 15-45XC another favorite for street.
My smallest and lightest lenses for my Fuji X mirrorless are:
23mm f/2 Fujinon
12mm f/2.8 Zeiss Touit
12mm f/2 Rokinon
8mm f/2.8 Rokinon fisheye
However, small and light are two features that are not that important to me.
The following features are more important to me:
focal length
maximum aperture
image quality
focus (automatic and/or manual focusing)
price
Therefore, the best lenses for me are:
16mm f/1.4 Fujinon
23mm f/1.4 Fujinon
56mm f/1.2 Fujinon
With these three lenses, I can capture 80% of the images I need.
While I realize that 40 Mpixel of the X-T5 I’d rather go with a sensor and Fuji camera that the lenses were designed to support. I guess that’s a 26 Mpixel sensor like in the X-T4 that I used to own or an X-Pro3. I’m familiar with the 18mm f2 and 35mm f1.4 and I loved them on the X-T4. Will research your recommendations further. Thank you and take care.
Just started my Fuji journey. Bought an XT30II for size and ability to swap. My criteria: 1) Photo quality 2) Size/Minimal weight 3) Build quality 4) Cost
I'm pondering this combo: 12mm Zeiss Touit 2.8 or 13mm Viltrox 1.4, 32mm Zeiss Touit 1.8, Fuji F2 50mm.

I think the choices are very ok! The 50mm is a good lens but for portraits I would use the 56mm options.

14 mm and 18-55 is my pair -- covers most. Additional a 50 mm 1.8 Nikon on a Tilt/ Shift adapter and the 50 - 140 (not light) will cover 99%.
I have added the Voigtlander 18 mm f2.8 to my light weight set up, along with the Fuji 27 mm . They make a great small set up on my XT5. Will some times take the Sigma 56 f1.4 with me.

i agree with you about the new lens, great quality but a little heavy for street photography and a little big to use on my Xpro 2. But I use the new 23 f1.4 wr & 18 f1.4 on xt-4 for night photography. My light weight kit is 23 f 2, 35 f2 and yesterday I bought brand new 50 f2, I use a Xpro 2 and love these combos. I am at the stage I don't want to be carrying a bag with me., I would love a manual lens without using adapter for Xpro 2 but I am not sure there is one for this model. But I will purchase one when the Xpro 4 gets released.
Nice vid, Tudor, love your content! The 18mm f/2 always was my favorite prime, but I have to say that on the XT5 the 18mm f/1.4 totally trashes the f/2. It's weird, but the 18mm f/2 seems the only lens that does not seem to be able to hold its ground with the 40MP sensor; all my other lenses, including lenses that supposedly do not do well on the XT5, such as the 10-24mm f/4 and the 35mm f/1.4, provide excellent results on the XT5. I cannot explain why this would be different for the 18mm f/2. My lightweight favorites are the Samyang 12mm f/2, the Voigtlander Ultron 27mm f/2 (yes!) and the Fuji 35mm f/1.4. As "bonus lens" I'd throw in the Fuji 50mm f/2 :).

Great video. Is the 18mm F2 really on the same level as the 35mm F1.4 as far as rendering and 3D pop is concerned?
I feel the same glass recipe and others are agreeing with this. But it's an f2 wide lens - so don't expect the same miracles. The 18mm F1.4 is the one for this - with modern rendering.
It’s got that 3d pop for sure. You have to get close to the subject to see it

It's for sure a good lens from what I've seen. Good quality from Fujifilm - small, great IQ but I would have wanted for that price to be at least an f2 lens so I could use it in any lighting conditions. Probably is aimed more for the macro photography.
Another great video! But what about the 23mm f/2 WR? Affordable, weather sealed, sharp qb, and resolves (apparently) the 40mp from the xt-5. A bit of off topic, I really don't know how good it resolves the 40mp or if is a marketing strategy to justify the inclusion of this lens on the new x100VI (with 40mp too). I'll go for the Voighlanders (18 and 27) one of this days for sure.

Im of the same opinion as you regarding the new fuji lenses. Honestly I dont see the point, the market is already full of big and heavy options with a ff sensor. Im buying the 23 and 35 1.4, the old ones not the new versions. Not because of the price, but I bought fuji for a compact and light set up, if fuji takes it away, Im not interested anymore. Having to cope with those lenses, I'm already in ff territory, and I'll pick my canons. For the images I saw they also seem like "canikon" overperfect, another thing I dont look for with fuji
Exactly - this new direction of Fujifilm is problematic.
Exactly how I would describe it, problematic. Im not against them making bigger and more perfect gear for those who want, but I disagree when they discontinue the older gear, wich I consider are different beasts, oriented for another type of work, instead of a replacement, and then again, there's plenty of better options in the market. Iguess fuji has been known for their compactness and rendering, thats why I bought it, and for my personal projects the x t30 II is the one I most often pick up intead of my top tier canon gear

The fuji 27mm 2.8 is a very sharp lens with very nice rendering, I own many fuji lenses and don't think I will be selling the 27mm anytime soon
Ultron 27mm is very good for sure - Ultron means modern image quality in a vintage designed lens.
