  • Working out isn't a waste of time and don't let people fool you otherwise. By exercising regularly, you build discipline, your aesthetic body, confidence and you improve in all aspects of your time. So stop caring about others and hit the GYM.

I really want to get a gym subscription but my parents keep telling me otherwise. I've tried explaining to them that this habit cannot hurt your growth but only improves your self in every single possibly imagined aspect. Mental health goes through the roof and so does physical. Of course you can get hurt but where is the responsibility and faith in a 14yo? Any reccomendations or suggestions on my issue. I REALLY need it.

If it’s a money issue, I know it’s not the greatest but Planet Fitness has free memberships for teens during the summer. If you can prove to them your dedication to a lifestyle change they might reconsider their thoughts. Keep up ur motivation and hard work, we’re all going to make it 🔱

i agree ... but few of these videos show anyone doing any kind of exercise that is done for true HEALTH and FITNESS reasons ! the total focus on size ,superficial appearance and impressing others at the expense of all else ... is hardly an indicator of good mental health ! surely its the pinnacle of insecurity and lack of substance ? we laugh at women who claim they wear make up and revealing clothes because it "makes them feel good about themeselves " not for male attention and validation ! same applies to this whole subculture , surely ?

You know working out can give your mind more capacity to become smarter right? your body gains more energy, stamina and oxygen. see how you feel after a long jog for the first time? light headed? that all goes away and when you are at higher levels you'll reach a new state of mind.

Our bodies were made to move. Cognitive performance is largely connected with coordination, which can be trained by using the motor neurons to move a weight through space. Even your neurotransmitter levels are affected by this, and your body's energy metabolism is a lot more efficient if it has a higher mitochondrial density that comes with more muscle mass. Your brain takes 30% of that energy.
Exercise makes you smarter. It makes you useful. The dopamine of accomplishment and repetitive pushing of your limits increases your mental resilience.

a great way to start is the "SSLP by barbell medicine". Starting Strength Learning Program
its a completely free resource with a followup plan that teaches you the big compund movements. There's tons of information in the PDF as well, if you actually want to go into the theory behind strength adaptation and hypertrophy.
dont bother with "bodybuilding" "powerlifting" "powerbuilding" and all that stuff. Specialization is not needed for the first 2 years of lifting and will come naturally to you, if you find yourself interested in that.
but personally, i think the single most important part is enjoying your workout.
      Consistency is key.
so if u find yourself running a programm that you do not enjoy, switch it. There's always gonna be movements you enjoy more, some you enjoy less.
A few ones you will have to bite through to not get muscular imbalance, but overall, trainingin general is quite "simple"
"Ain't nothing to it but to do it"

It just hits different to see a person that has nothing attempt at being greater than the average person.

I believe we workout because we need to use our physical body, we need to move, exert and feel our muscles get used and get tired. Most of us live such sedentary lives compared to what is natural. If you do a very active job like construction then I could see why you might thing working out is a waste of time.

When I was 12, I was about to get scouted to a proffesional football club in my country, was athletic af etc. Found my dad dead, family splitting his inheritance next to his cold body on the floor after not even looking at him, friends left me except 1 homie, weight was 154kg and I'm now at 110kg in around 9 months or so. I was so fking scared at first lol, after I started working out though, I found my old rythym again and just absolute let loose on the gym lol. Just a small reminder to y'all that is watching this, just start dude. You don't wanna go to the gym? That's fine, take more walks, eat healthier, work-out at home, but at least try to go to the gym once. I promise you, the first few times might be hard, but after that, you will absolutely love it. Love to Zyzz though, even after he passed he still motivates people, he did for me at least

does anyone know any good rutines or point me in the direction to a good rutiine? whats really stoping me from commiting to a gym schedule is not knowing what the hell im doing. im scared of like doing a gym rutine for a couple months and coming out looking deformed because i forgot to train a certain muscle.
most of the shit i've been doing was dieting and cardio. i was 329 and now im down to 275 so i think im making good progress.

Tuesday chest - dips, barbell bench press, barbaell incline press, chest flys
Wednesday back - pull ups, closed grip lat pulldowns, barbell rows, etc
Thursday shoulders - dumbbell arnies, lat side raises, front raises, barbell shoulder lifts
Fri, Sat, Sun optionnal. There's a quick guide.

@@mightytaco123 I don´t know if i would be able to give you a specific routine, but i can give you some pretty powerfull advice that i learned through the time:
The perfect routine is not the routine that will give you the best results based on science and mathematical percentages, the best routine is the one that will make you stronger phisically and help you gain the self esteem and confidence you need, without taking away your energy or getting you into a new set of insecurities, as body dismorphia, for example. You won´t look deformed because you overtrained a muscle, and if you are not happy about some aspects of your results, you can make adjustments and fix it. Chances are, you are going to get into a regular gym, with a regular coach, and he will give you a pretty standard routine (that will have some flaws). With all of that, the difference between your actual physique and your goal physique, lies in the amount of effort you put into it.
Don´t fear looking deformed when you start (i guarantee you won´t), but rather enjoy the way you feel in your stronger body. Go hit the gym!

    • @nerfi_tv
      @nerfi_tv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

Yo don't worry about certain muscles. Your body knows how it's suppost to look and you wount be deformed. The knowledge will come on its own with time. Stick to simple things that are most fun to you cause staying commited is sometimes more important then knowing it all. I recommend pushups since they train a large portion of your body. (pushups are fun :) )
      More specific would be:
      Day 1: Chest ,Tricep
      Day 2: Bicep, Abs
      Day 3: Legs and cardio
      Day 4: Chill
      You got this!!
