      Honestly, that didn't sit well with me. This is a womans talk show, that includes all the spicy parts of relationships. I think its doing a disservice to women to silence any stories regarding violence against us, even minor agressions, or transgressions. But they exist in all relationships, we cant respect eachother 100% of the time, but we can hold eachother responsible. All it took away was a learning oportunity from everyone, reinstated the collective silence women hold for the men they love in their lives. Its okay to tell your girlfriends what he did. Shit, tell his mans friends what he did, so someone can tell him how to handle the situatuin better next time. Too many time we put 100% of the responsability on the woman for even being there, that she can walk away if she knows whats good for her, how could you know whats best for anyones personal situation? We need real solutions.

    The way that I see Feminism is yes the equality of the sexes and genders, but more importantly it gives people the agency and space to define their life choices and how valuable they are according to their identity. You can still live a domestic life and still call yourself a feminist. Or you can live a life with no marriage, no kids and still call yourself a feminist. The important factor is agency and freedom. "I want to be a stay at home mom and clean the house because I want to and it brings me joy, NOT because I'm a woman and that's my place."
    But unfortunately mainstream feminist culture is very tunnel-visioned. It has a very narrow idea of what it's values and goals are, as well as who it finds valuable to fight for. I hear a lot of black women saying that they're not feminists because the movement doesn't center them in any way unless they do the labor themselves.

    • @DrFlorencia_
      @DrFlorencia_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      This!! There’s lots of black feminist literature that centre our experiences but people are apparently too lazy to do their research 😑

    At the end of the day in order to heal you need to not run away/avoid from your feelings and sit down with them in order to make your next move. So my motto is process how I feel after a break, book a Therapy session, cry, journal to truly figure out myself again in order to not carry my past feelings into something new. Sometimes people can fuck another person to get over the hurt but for me personally it can be a distraction for my healing.

      That's not true. No woman applauds that, and if that is your bar you are to young to have a relationship dummy.

    I agree with you Mandii. In my personal life, I prefer to be known as an African-American woman simply because of the inferences of the word “black.” At its root is the word “lack,” meaning not whole or complete. There is a whole movement that urges the world to recognize that Black Lives Matter. Words are things that create conditions.
