Lebron could have stat line like 42 points 10 rebounds 12 assists 2 steals 2 blocks on 12-18 shooting 4-4 from 3 4-5 from the free throw line with 2 turnovers and skip would only focus on the missed free throw and the 2 turnovers.

I want to make a statement about Skip and LeBron a lot of people don't know. In the past, LeBron has said how Skip is his biggest critic. Like another famous reporter who hated Muhammad Ali, Howard Crossel. Skip doesn't actually hate Lebron, may not see him as great as many others do, but make no mistake he does see Lebron as really great.
Skip just loves to motivate Lebron by purposely hating on him, and being overly critical, because deep down Skip believes he is helping to motivate Lebron to become even greater. So reality it's a tough love relationship Skip has with Lebron. Neither actually hate each other in real life. Skip covers Lebron on National TV every day. Lebron`s brand greatly benefits from the exposure. One thing about Lebron, he loves to be talked about. He loves to be the center of attention.
Both Skip and LeBron massively benefit from each other. Someday, I believe you will see Lebron and Skip give a huge hug to each other on National TV. Also, when Skip eventually passes away, Lebron will speak at his funeral and have awesome things to say about him, love, and jokes too. Trust me, Skip and Lebron are secretly huge supporters of each other.

Trust me, Skip and Lebron are secretly huge supporters of each other.

not to mention clutch kept being redefined by Bayless and ONLY Lebron had to meet this ever shifting standard. Magic, Bird, Kareem, no one ever really cared how many buzzer beaters they hit, they were considered clutch because they routinely played great in big games. Even Jordan's first four finals, he missed a few shots that could have won the game but none of us cared. He played awesome in those Finals so he was clutch. Then Lebron comes around and now all of a sudden it's not clutch to hit shots that put your team up with a second or a few seconds left on the clock, which Lebron did several times prior to any buzzer beaters, clutch now meant only walk off shots, or free throws, or whatever other standard he just decided to make up after Lebron checked it off the box. It's so ridiculous and the number of fans who just buy into it is dumbfounding.

Lebron does not have the “same skills” even remotely, his midrange game is worse and he doesn’t have the same depth of layup variety that MJ does. MJ is more athletic than Bron, he has a higher vertical and a faster 40 time, and the basketball iq is subjective but I’d have to give it to MJ. Not just that. I mean we still hear about 2011 to this day at times. But he gave KD a hard time for his performance against Boston for like a week and then started making excuses for him.
Or how the bubble championship is basically not worth counting as if all the games had been played at Staples/Crypto in front of their fans instead of every team playing under the same conditions. But somehow these two chips KD got with the Warriors, after one of the best players in the league had joined one of the best teams in the league, should count extra.
He still says "in back to back game 3's". Kyrie wasn't even there for the second finals series, so the difference in team strength was even wider.
Or how about the all time favorite that skip likes to bring up. The Ray Allen shot. As if it was the only play in the game/series. Never mind that with like 25 seconds left in the game the Spurs were up 5 and it only got to the point were a last second three could send it to overtime because James hit a three. But it doesn't matter because he missed the tying 3 and Ray saved him.
But then Shannon one time asked "what about overtime of game 6 and game 7" and Skip said it didn't matter because the Ray Allen shot broke them. So it excuses (and conveniently discounts James performance) not just for that overtime, but the entire next game.
But when JR had his brain fart against the Warriors was there a "broke him" excuse for James? Of course not. He quit on his team.
The bias is unreal with Skip. I'm personally convinced if Kwahi won another chip or KD wins one, he'll put either one above James all time. Hell, even Embiid if he ever does accomplish anything.
Not saying he can't have his own opinion on things. But at least judge players by the same rules and don't play favorites.

    • @_Feanor_.
      @_Feanor_. ปีที่แล้ว

And he just did it again. Claimed that he could tell Durant hasn't been the same since his achilles injury and that he's semi retired and doesn't care about winning anymore once they got bounced. Yet he had picked the Suns to win the title and claimed Durant was the best player in the world before the playoffs started. I guess in his mind that makes sense. Or KD is just so great that he can be the best even when he is diminished.

Can’t make the starting lineup on your high school team or earn playing time do you transfer schools until you find a team sorry enough where you can play or do you work on your game and earn your spot. Especially if you’re the best player.

      Tim Duncan did the same.

Skip sees himself as a pioneer of sports panel debate shows. He's always talking about the grind he had to go through to make his show number one and how much he had to sacrifice. It's pretty obvious that he knows how debating works. It doesn't work if you and your partner are in agreement. Personally I think he made a conscious decision to go after Lebron knowing full well that anyone he would be working with would have the utmost respect for Lebrons greatness. That would create conflict that would then make for a better debate show. Skip is the biggest MJ fan ever but I guarantee you that he would do the same thing for him had he been the big star during the era of his show.

Skip comes out initially with a take on a player that they obviously surpass or proves him wrong and then for their entire career it will be slander, nit picking, and poor takes to validate that initially wrong assessment. It doesn't matter what LeBron, AR-12, or anyone that proves Skip wrong does it will be all about how Skip is right on his first take. It goes the opposite way too because if he likes you and his assessment is wrong he will ride for that player for life no matter how wrong he was about that player.
